This weekend in New York we will find on the card the running of the G2, The Bursting with Joy Turf Sprint. The chances of rain will be moving out of the forecast, and we should have a firm turf track at post time. The race is restricted to those fillies and mares that are 3 years old and older and will be at the distance of 5.5 furlongs. The race has drawn the interest of nine horses that will make the start. It looks like a competitive field of horses that will make their dash to get to the wire first. The morning line odds and post positions have been released. Let us now take a preview of the nine horses that will make the start in the G2, The Bursting with Joy Turf Sprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two starts back she would win the Fast Raise Turf Mare Sprint before making her most recent start in Sweden where she would go 5 furlongs in the G3, Ulrika Knape Sprint that she won with a 108 speed rating. She will be seeking her third win in a row this weekend here in New York representing the GR Simsters residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She would run into some disappointments in each and they were at much longer distances. Most recently she would be seen in Virginia going 9 furlongs in the G3, The Whole Time. She would never be a factor crossing over the wire well back in eighth. She has not run anything shorter than 8 furlongs in the past two seasons, but the owner is going to give her a shot in this sprint race and see what she can do when she heads over to the turf representing the East-West Connection residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her new owner would send her out in Newmarket to go 8 furlongs in a NW2x Allowance. She did not fare well against the field and would come in eighth with a 100 speed rating. The owner is giving his filly a chance this weekend to prove herself as he bumps her up in class representing the East-West Connection residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She ran well in this race and would pick up the win with a 102 speed rating. She is moving back up in class for this race on Saturday when she heads over to her gate representing the Down Under Racing residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a 4 year old Brown Filly (ANAMOE (AUS) x SNITZEL x DUBAWI (IRE) ) that two starts back would pick up a Listed Stakes win in the Galloping Joy Turf Mare Sprint. She would then move up in class for her most recent start in Berkshire going 5 furlongs in the G2, Iron Rock Stakes. She found a spot in forth out of the gate and that is where she would remain all the way to the wire. She is getting another chance this weekend at the G2 level, and the owner feels his horse has promise when he sends her over to the turf representing the Midas residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her most recent start would come in South Africa going 6.5 furlongs in a Listed Stakes, The Kitasan Black. She would never be a factor coming in fourteenth with a 93 speed rating. She will make the start this weekend coming out of the paddock representing the East-West Connection residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a 4 year old Bay Filly (PIERRO (AUS) x RAHY x KITTEN’S JOY ) that has been struggling in her most recent starts to find the boards and her most recent starts have all been 8 furlongs or greater. Her most recent start would be in Kentucky going 8 furlongs in the G1, Breeders Bowl Game. She would never be a factor crossing the wire in eleventh with a 100 speed rating. She has run in sprint races in the past and done fairly well. She is being brought down in distance for this start, and it might spark her interest when she heads out this Saturday representing the Universal Racing Club residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a 5 year old Brown Mare (AUSTRALIA x SEA THE STARS x SEATTLE SLEW ) who\u2019s three most recent starts have been at the graded levels of racing, and she has found disappointment in all of them. In her first race of the season, she would get a Listed Stakes win at 6 furlongs and she should be able to handle the distance this weekend. Her most recent start came in Ireland going 6 furlongs in the G3, The Bally\u2019s Best. She failed to fire in her stretch run and faded back to cross the wire in twelfth with a 98 speed rating. She needs a big rebounding effort this weekend of which the owner hopes to see when she heads out in the post parade representing the Universal Racing Club residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rounding out the field we have this 4 year old Bay Filly (DR LARGE x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x MONSUN ) that is a prior G2 winner. She would almost get another G2 win in her most recent start in Berkshire where she would go 5 furlongs in the G2, Iron Rock Stakes. She was closing in fast on the front runner as they came down the stretch. She would be held off and crossed the wire in second just missing the win by three quarters of a stride. She looked sharp in her most recent start and could put some pressure on this field when she heads out at post time representing the British and European Racing Club residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
