We are going to look at the longest race run today: the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Kelso Handicap. This is a short field of thirteen with most given a chance by the odds maker.

We start first with Verus a five year old son of Kingmambo is looking to stay close to the leaders before trying to make a move turning for home. He comes in off a nice run in a thirteen furlong event and looks to get this two mile distance but might be on the outside looking in at this group. Kurvin said he thought that his entry had a chance and would like to hit the board.

Coming out of post two is Waki Bullet this is a six year old daughter of Red Bullet out of a Miswaki mare and won a listed stakes race at this distance by six after sitting eight of the lead and made a run around the turn to take the lead by two entering the stretch and looks to do the same this time the class is the only question. pandrews says she will answer the class question come Saturday, have some money down on this one.

Next is a three year old son of Empire Maker, Thirty Four in Red won a listed stakes with a high speed figure of 98. Michaelo has got to like the chances for his runner to take this race and add a grade one win to the resume. This runner has broken the triple digits inmost of his starts this year and seems to love going long. I give this runner the best chance to win this race.

My Favorite for this race is the Breast Cancer Equinics race winner with a 110SF at todays distance and looks to be coming into form and had a nice prep race last out. Jolly Dm House is the number one ranked dirt long router. He is a four year old colt by jolly jouster. He will brake for the lead and try not to look back to square away the eclipse award.

From post five comes a five year old son of Mineshaft seven to one on the line is Regal Prince winner of a listed stake in his last race with a 101 gives him a chance in here. He has been running well of late getting triple digit speed figures in his last three races will have to make it four to win this one.

The Figurehead gets post 6 and 9/2 on the line. He has not run two miles in the shown past performances but in his last race he ran a 104 sf at 14F and 105 sf at 13F in his last two will be making a late run trying to gun down the leaders in the stretch. He seems to love 13F so I think he would be pushing his distance but might have enough left to get up for a place spot.

Rabid Antidentite: this four year old son of Smarty Jones comes into this off a win at 14F after sitting off the pace made a late run to win by 4. He seems to love the 14F races winning his last three at that distance and has yet to be tested going two miles we will see how his late run is effected at today’s distance. One to watch making a late run.

Sky High Chateau has been running at 10F mostly and will have to step out 6 more furlongs and see if this runner can get some money for mklove. When talking to the trainer he said that he should be within two or three lengths of the leader if he was not on the lead. He will need to carry that speed farther than he has had to so we will see how far he can go.

Dynamambo is a five year old son of dynaformer finished third in his last race at today’s distance and will need to take a step forward off of that effort. He closed ten lengths in the stretch but was he just passing tired horses, I think he was he still earned a figure of 99 and has earned up to a 105sf at two miles so he will be back in eigth or ninth and will make his run when he hit the stretch. Theleague loves the price on this one and told me that his last race was the perfect set up for his entry and will be putting some big money on this one.

Next we have Xtremely Bold four year old son of Xtremely Gold who had eight grade one wins and hope to pass down that glory to this one. He will be trying this distance for the first time and should like the added distance. When looking at the past races he seems to like to be close to the lead and starts to slowdown as he goes. Spqr2nd would like to see him carry his speed this far and make his momma proud.

Next is a 72/1 shot in I’am Bursting who is sent out by mrv. When I caught up to him and asked about his chances he said you can’t win if you’re not in it. I’am Bursting is a three year old daughter of Tertullian she comes in off a bad run at this distance with a 66sf. I would have to say the chances are unlikely to show up and win this thing.

Breaking from the twelve hole is Hazar Imam a three year old son of Azamour. He comes into this race off a easy win at twelve furlongs and a 98sf he looks to improve with the distance but I think he will be a little short. I ran into tatty and all I could get out of our conversation was that Hazar had a shot at hitting the board and it would be a happy day if that was to happen.

From the outside comes Photonics Best this three year old son of Suave will need to do some serious training to catch up with this field but could this race be win number two for this entry, I don’t think so.

Well that’s the field for the Kelso Handicap good luck to all and we will be here for post race comments.

[2

post-7029","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
