It’s a pretty even line up, with bookmakers and punters finding it a tough race to figure out. Lets take a look at them;

1-GOLD THUNDER 4-1; 6yo daughter of Thunder Gulch that has won 11 of 44, and her last 3 straight. She came off an extended break to win an open ALW impressively over the 5.5f, and then backed it up with a Stakes win at this trip last start. She has plenty of speed and she has a good draw, and these 2 factors should help to offset the fact that connections were not able to engage one of the leading riders for today’s assignment. Winning chance.

2- MYSTERIOUS HALO 4-1; Racingfan is the trainer of this experienced mare that will be lining up for start 5 in 11 weeks. Showed that she may just be an ALW level mare with a battling 5th in a Stakes race last start, and although her previous form was consistent, it was in easier races than this. Not for me, especially at 4-1.

3- FLAPPAGE 8-1; The only 3yo filly engaged in the event was a well beaten 8th in the same race as Mysterious Halo ran in last start.That was her 1st run since wining a Stakes race at big odds against her own age. She had been less than consistent before that, and I tend to think she is only a place chance here. I do think that she will reverse the placings against Mysterious Halo from their last clash.

4- SJ’S GHOST DANCE 5-2; 5th ranked sprinting mare brings a lot of class to this race. She ran 3rd in the same race as the previous 2 horses last start and looked very disappointing on that occasion, however her previous form was 1st rate. She was a Stakes winner 2 back, and a G3 winner the start prior. The one to beat.

5- PLEASANT LASS 5-1; This mare return to the dirt after 2 recent turf runs, and she is another with the class to take out this race. She went through a bit of a lull in form prior to her win 2 runs ago, but that form had been proceed by a G2 placing at this trip. Forget her last start failure in a tougher race when assessing her chances, and at those odds she is worth considering strongly.

6- ALEX SLAYER 17-1; Competent staying mare who will find these far too slick for her here.

7- ELUSIVE OTTO 10-1; Nicely bred daughter of Rahy that has won 2 of its last 3. Those have been in much easier races, but she does have a very good record in sprinting races having won 7 of 15, with 6 minors. I think she’ll find it too hard to consider her a winning chance, but she is capable of filling a trifecta spot at good odds.

8- URZA’S AVENGER 9-2; Well anything that A.Craig rides has to be a big chance with the form our premier jockey is in at the moment. She found the line hard last start when 5th in this grade, and that run was on the back of an easy win in the Again Listen Special. She can mix her form however, and she will need to be right on top of her game to be competitive here. There should be sufficient speed in this to allow her to hit the line hard, and you can be asusred she’ll be well ridden.

I think the favourite SJ Ghost Dance will win it. I think Pleasant Lass will be hard to beat, and I think Gold Thunder is the other winning hope. The best roughie might be Elusive Otto.

[2

post-7008","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
