Stalking the pace setters for 6 furlongs and springing to the lead around the final turn Simple Man never looked back after clearing the leaders in a time of 1:50 3\/5.<\/p>\n<p>Bringing home the winners share of the purse and a fine speed rating on the 9 furlongs of firm turf of 89 Simple Man proved to the world 5 years away he and trainer Needleman haven&#8217;t lost their touch.<\/p>\n<p>Walking from the winners circle Needleman said &#8221; This is the only horse that was held over from the 5 year break. We quit with him off a win and he got right back to winning when he comes back.
