This means all but one horse will walk away with some of the purse money.

Perhaps two of the entrants scared away other foes. Goldman Sachs, the favorite in the field, comes in with an impressive 4-race win streak. However, K’s Araku has done one better and puts her own 5-race win streak on the line. Both have a genuine chance to extend their streaks and it will be fun to see if one of them succeeds, or, if someone else will fulfill the spoiler role.

1. Rainbows Queue 19-1
Rainbows Queue draws the rail for this race, but in such a small field, the post draw should have no effect on the outcome. Rainbows has one race going the megaroute, which was back in June, where she gamefully defeated a field of four by 7+ lengths in a speed of 88 on an off track. Her last two races were disappointing, finishing eigth against allowance and starters going 11 and 13 furlongs. She is taking a huge jump to this Grade 1 race and she has her work cut out for her. She faces several others who have surpassed the 100-speed level and I hate to say this, the odds seem pretty low to me. She looks most competitive going routes at the allowance level.

2. Slew of Cash 3-1
Slew of Cash is coming off four good races going 2 miles. She has two wins, a second and a forth (which was against a full field). Her last race marked a career best speed of 106, where she won the Woody for Crystal Special by 4 lengths, pulling away from the field. She will probably run in the middle of this short field early on and make her effort for the wire after the mile marker. You cannot discount this one!

3. Goldman Sachs 6-5
Goldman Sachs has won 10 of 21 route starts, including her last four races. She seeks her fifth straight and may be in the right place to score it. She ran her first 2-mile marathon last time out and took the win in the Frosty Sea Challenge by four lengths in a speed of 99. The speed number is better than it sounds, she recorded this on a sloppy track. This would surely be well over 100 on a fast surface. She has five wins in stake races, which includes a grade 3 victory back in April.

4. Randy Breeder 3-1
Randy Breeder has won 9 of 32 route starts, coming in the money 20 times. She comes into the race coming off a win in an allowance race going 12 furlongs. She posted a speed of 102 and made a strong, hard close to best the field. Randy is stretching out to the 2-mile race for the first time and she hasn’t won a stakes race since last November. Both of these are concerning to me.

5. Point Break 13-1
In six starts at 2 miles, Point Break has one victory, and that was on a very wet turf against cheap allowance level over two years ago. Her last race was the Frosty Sea Challenge, where she finished third some 20+ lengths behind Goldman Sachs. Point Break has put in good runs on both the dirt and turf (24 of 41 in the money), however, the distance gap in her recent race is too much to overcome to be victorious here.

6. K’s Araku 7-2
Simply said, K’s Araku is the veteran in this race. She has won 24 of 39 career starts, surpassing $3 million in career earnings. She is the master of the 2-mile marathon, winning each and every one of her five starts. All five have been stake races, including two Grade 1 races. She comes in off a win in the Leguisamo Special, which she won by a mere three lengths (this was her smallest margin of victory in a 2-mile race). She has won her last five starts ranging in distance from 14 to 16 furlongs. She’s red hot and comes in with very generous odds. She’s capable of surpassing the 100-speed level and is a serious threat.

K’s Araku has been perfect going the marathon and gets my top nod. She draws top jockey Ross (24% win) for the journey. The odds of 7-2 add nice value for the limited risk involved. She has won all 3 outings she has had on the Delaware surface, including her last two races. Makes it really hard to pass her up.

Goldman Sachs will put up a tough fight and has shown she can go the distance. She has decent experience in stakes which gives her a class advantage over the rest of the field.

If there is a spoiler to the top two who have win streaks on the line, it is Slew of Cash. Her speed of 106 in her last start throws up a dangerous warning sign to my top two picks.

These three selections look good for a trifecta box. It may not pay alot in the small field, but better than an exacta box in this small field. Good luck to everyone!

[2

post-6841","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
