He has a 75% record on the board below 1 mile. That gives you a decent reflection of his chance none. He was though a very good early 3yo but as with many horses of that kind has seemed to hit a wall with regards to improvement. He did though win a graded race earlier in the year I doubt that will ever be repeated.

CARSON WILDCAT (KY) FOREST WILDCAT x CARSON CITY x DANEHILL

This horse was dumped on injury at the end of his 3yo season. His form was not bad and had the profile of a horse that was going to improve (kept getting placed). He was therefore a shrewd purchase for current connections. He has rewarded this investment well. He has exploded in his last four races posting very good speed figures. He has also won 2 of theses races in 110+ speed figures and been graded placed on his only try. In would be no surprise if he was not in the money in this race.

BARCABAA (KY) ANABAA x DAMASCUS x HABITAT

This horse has a stakes win but that was on turf. He appears to be a good horse but connections do not seem to know what to do with him. The problem appears to lie in he wins allowances on the regular but flops these days when upped into graded class. He appears to be a solid bp allowance runner and in reality should be exploited as such. He seems to have very little chance in this race of making the frame.

THICK AND THIN (JPN) FORTY NINER x SEATTLE SLEW x ALYDAR

This horse has failed to win since February this year. He has been running well at a lower level and keeps getting placed. His last stakes win was his first run as a 3yo. That is a long time ago now. It is hard to believe he will be able to win a graded race on his current form and even though a consistent horse his appeal in this race is limited at best.

VENGENCE VINDICATION x SEEKING THE GOLD x WILD AGAIN

This horse ahs had very little racing for a 5yo. He is though a good horse. The problem is when you look at his form he has run 4 times this year. He has won once in his only try in a non graded race. He was though second in a graded race on an off track over 9f. His other runs were over further. This shorter trip looks to his benefit as well. Although it is hard to see him winning a place would be no surprise in this class of field.

SPORTS JERSEY (KY) EMPIRE MAKER x THEATRICAL (IRE) x SEEKING THE GOLD

This horse has a nice profile. He has been getting better with racing as well which is a bonus. His last two races have yielded victories as well. He won his last race with a 114sp prior to that he was 4th over 9f in a graded race. The drop in trip to 8f on his last start was a big plus. He has to be considered a serious candidate to win this race. Nice horse.

TEMPORAL SPRING (ENG) PIVOTAL (GB) x REDOUTE’S CHOICE (AUS) x BUCKPASSER

This horse is easy to dismiss on what he has done so far. He is though on the upgrade. His sire as in real life seems to be getting horses that improve with age in the sim though they seem to stay a lot better in the sim than in real life. He is at his correct trip which is 8f his last two runs over the trip were victories. I doubt though he is good enough which may not be the case in 6 months time to win a graded race. He is passed over here.

LEGENDARY THIEF (KY) CAT THIEF x GENERAL MEETING x MR. PROSPECTOR

This is a horse any sim player would love to own. In his last 16 starts he has run triple digit speed figures in 15. That is amazing consistency for a sim horse. The thing that stands out looking at his form he is a good stakes allowance horse. He has not run in a grade race before. Looking through his form though the overall impression is he has been well placed and trained but this is probably above his ability level in truth but he deserves a try at this level.

HALO ME DOWN MINESHAFT x HALO x STORM BIRD

This has been a very good horse indeed. His last 3 runs have been somewhat of a let down. The view looking in is that in 2007 this horse was top class and would win this race easy. As 2008 has gone on his form has got worse it would appear that wear and tear has caught up with him. His speed figures are still good but to win though these days he needs to be in a lower class of race. It would be a major surprise to see him bounce back to his best here.

MERIDIAN COURT (IRE) STREET CRY (IRE) x DONERAILE COURT x DANZIG CONNECTION

This horse has been running well of late. He has some decent speed figures. His wins though have been in alw nw2y races. There is a massive difference between these and graded races. His last try in a grade race saw a last place finish. If I am going to be honest a repeat of that is more than likely to happen in this race. Once again he is another horse who was very good as an early 3yo who has never gone on from those days.

GIANT HEIGHTS (KY) GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x DEPUTY MINISTER x GRAUSTARK

This horse has won 3 races in his life. He could run in a nw3x or mw4l. On the present level of form that is where he belongs to gain experience and confidence. He was beaten last time out in a 3yo only stakes race. It is really hard to see him having any chance here. He is by Giant’s Causeway with some patient handling there is no reason why in a year’s time he could not be up to this class.

WSOP (KY) APTITUDE x RUBIANO x DEPUTY MINISTER

This horse has been running well over 10f with some nice speed figures as well. He has been coming up short over this trip. It would appear that if the horse has any improvement a change in trip is required. It is a guess if that is up and down though you have to start somewhere. If this horse is graded quality is another question on the evidence seen so far probably not. His odds reflect his chances in this race.

GRATEST (FL) CONGRATS x GONE WEST x LYPHARD

This is a hard horse to weigh up. He has been running well and has a lot of class. He was second in a graded race on turf in his last start. The trip is not a problem. On the evidence I would think he is best on a firm turf course but has good ability on a dirt surface as well. This could be a horse that is also past his peek given his ability in graded races earlier in the year. It would be no surprise for him to run very well even win. The horse as a betting is not bad as a saver bet at 17-1.

BARB’S FRENCHY (JPN) FRENCH DEPUTY x CRUSADER SWORD x ALYDAR

This is a good horse. The facts are simple his only run at above 1 mile looked that of a non stayer. He has only been out of the first two twice at below a mile. The first time on turf so sensibly has not run on turf again. The other time in a 6f grade 1 no problem in not being good enough there. He looks very much like a 7 -7.5f specialist. He is therefore a horse with little chance in a graded mile race.

As for my predictions:-

1 CARSON WILDCAT improving horse with very good speed figures as well.

2 SPORTS JERSEY another improving horse with class and appears to like the trip

3 GRATEST has class and looks value at 17-1 has to overcome switch back to dirt

[2

post-6835","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
