The expected rain should leave us with a slighly affected track, and this should undo the chances of a few of the main hopes.

1- Loxley 15-1; 3yo Filly by Forestry, bred and trained by Samurai stables. She handled a rain affected track to win 2 runs ago over this distance, and it is only the prospect of another dampish track that sees her rated any chance in this field. Still eligible for 3x ALW and I’m looking to others here.

2- Nobody Knows 5-1; Very good sprinting mare who is not seen at her best over this extended trip. She has been placed only once at this trip, and I cant see her improving on that in a race of this quality.

3- Druj Of The Grave 6-1; An outstanding claim by Orosto lead to this filly changing stables, and finding career best form. She has never raced on an ‘off track’ and that’s my concern with her. She should have no trouble racing her way through to open allowance next year and depsite the track concerns, she remians a good hope.

4- Norah Borius 6-1; Stakes placed daughter of Galileo whose form has been a bit in and out of recent times. She appears to prefer slightly longer than the mile, and I think she’ll find this too hard.

5- Marc’s Gold 6-1. 3yo Filly by Seeking The Gold who has campaigned through some of the better class races this year. A G3 winner of the Filly Turf Bonanza, and placed in the G3 Diana Classic, she wasn’t beaten far in her G1 assignments this term either. Failed terribly on a yielding surface last start, and that is a major drawback to her chances here.

6- Elyod’s Pride 9-1; This mare appears outgraded on form. A winner of 2 from 19, she doesnt have the necessary ability to compete at this level.

R7- Chocolatier Barb 14-1; Best 14-1 chance I’ve seen in a long while. She is a very lightly raced daughter of War Emblem with a good record. She was been placed twice at stakes level, before reverting back to 6f to win a NW3L last start. I think she is better suited at this trip, and I rate her very highly in this affair.

R8- Escalero 8-1; Another who appears way over the odds. Whether she is better suited at this trip or 7.5f is debatable, but her recent form is consistant in very similar company. Has acted on off tracks in the past, and I rate her a winning chance.

R9- Gone For It 7-2; Favourite for the race. Daughter of Gone West who came off a 10wk break to run 106 in beating 6 rivals in Spain last start. That followed a couple of placing s at 9.5f, and if there is a concern about her winning chances here, it is that she may be better suited at slightly further than the 1600m.

R10- Mellow Melissa 5-1; This daughter of E Dubai has only been unplaced 3 times in 27 starts. Great record, loves the distance and loves the surface. She has been placed at her only ‘off track’ start. Has found 1 or 2 better at her most recent stakes runs, but given her consistant record, and the engagement of a good jockey, Id be suprised if she doesnt have a say in the outcome.

In an open race, i’ll plonk for Chocolatier Barb at the odds. Escalero, Gone For It, Mellow Melissa and Druj Of The Grave are the other winning hopes. Good luck to all.

[2

post-6810","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
