Economy Woes Slow Auction Auction – 3714 – <\/SPAN><\/B>Summer is over, fall is here and I have returned to the auction beat.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I had a good summer – my 2 YO’s did well at the track with a win, two seconds and a third from 6 starts between them.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>They have now gone down the hill to <\/SPAN> The economy downturn has hit the Sim, at least for this week.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Not one horse sold for a million dollars or more and the Computer stable was busy replenishing their supply of horses.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Only two of the 30 horses offered 9 years and older went for more than a dollar and 78 people thought their horses were worth more than other people were willing to pay.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There were about 50 more horses entered last Saturday than last May (the last time I did one of these articles) and the average last May was $74,676.90 compared with $14,945.37 last Saturday.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Total sales were also down, last May they were $28,974,639.00 and last Saturday, $4,827,556.00.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Quite a drop!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Here are the auction stats for last Saturday. The Millionaires: Well there weren’t any millionaires, but the top five selling horses that were not stable transfers as far as I can tell, were led by hip # 163404 Take The Weight<\/B>, a\u00a0 <\/SPAN>dark bay or brown 2 YO filly by Dehere and out of a Seeking The Gold mare.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was consigned by Deadman<\/I><\/B> and sold to Bonnyd <\/I><\/B>for $500,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has room for improvement as with almost $5,000 in earnings, she has never finished in the top three and although I suspect this might be a stable transfer, I can’t prove it. Rtribbett<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> sold a nice looking 2 YO brown colt to Thepontif<\/I><\/B> for $365,001.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Crawfish<\/B> #123719, is by High Chaparral and is the first foal of the <\/SPAN> Reorganized<\/SPAN><\/B> #109807 is a 4 YO copper chestnut colt by Redoute’s Choice out of a Deputy Minister mare.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has won three of his 30 starts and sells with a low claiming tag of $150,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Springo80<\/I><\/B> sold this colt to Kartago<\/I><\/B> for $345,543.00.
