Today we are at Arizona Downs in Prescott Valley Arizona for the ERC AULD LANG SYNE a six and a half furlong race on the dirt for 2 year olds that have been bred using the Sire NEW YEARS DAY. It is the final race of the year, in a season that featured 18 races at various tracks around the world. As usual we are racing for the winner\u2019s share of the $100,000 purse, with the victorious owner\/trainer also collecting club stakes bonus points which will determine the 2023 club champion.<\/strong>

As we enter the final race, amir<\/strong> has a thirty-three point lead on harrylan<\/strong> for first place and dunn <\/strong>has a five point lead on dontbetonme <\/strong>for third place. Jockey tactics and racing luck will probably play an important role in determining the winner and with this distance, it is truly anyone’s race to win.

She comes in HOT with three straight wins at this track with the most recent coming at this same distance when she ran 84 speed and won by a length. She will look to run mid pack in the early going and should be well positioned at the top of the stretch to make a run at the leaders.

Out of the razer5 barn (summerset)<\/strong> is this two-year old filly out of the Sim Mare CASPER CAT<\/strong>. She will look to break her Maiden here in the first start of her career against this impressive group of eight including five fillies.

She comes in off a third place finish at this same distance at the “Alluring Event Dirt Fillies Juvenile” where she was beaten by a length and a half by dontbetonme’s <\/strong>filly OUTZAPPER. <\/strong>She comes in well rested and should compete for a spot on the board.  <\/strong>

Out of the newfy2023 barn<\/strong> is this two-year old gelding out of the Sim Mare HANNAH THE COOL<\/strong>. He had a streak of three straight wins broken last time out when he finished fourth at the seven furlong “Court Case Dirt Juvenile”. His speed numbers have jumped with every start and the ownership group is hoping that trend will continue here and we might see low 90 speed. He has as good a chance as any taking home the win here.

He will look to run near the back of the pack in the early going before kicking it into high gear as they come down the stretch.
