The problem is though that his best form seems behind him. A good gr 1 win in October last year to his credit. He was also very consistent last year. His last start was an ungraded win, the trainer doing the right thing trying to boost his confidence. The class of the race and it is a week short field so holds a very good chance of winning another graded event.

GOOD TO BE KING – SMARTY JONES x A.P. INDY x SADLER’S WELLS

His last win is now a year ago minus two days. That was in a grade 2 race over 12f. His form then has been on the decline. Not the force he once was. Speed figures also are on a downward spiral as well. This is another bad sign considering the general increases in speed figures. It would have to be said that he has seen better days. The chances of him pulling something special out the bag to win seem remote.

HOWNOTTOWIN (KY) – DYNAFORMER x KINGMAMBO x FORTY NINER

This horse is lightly raced for his age. Form is consistent but at allowance level. At present his best trip looks around a mile. It would also be interesting to see him in a turf sprint. This trip and class of race seem well beyond. There appears little or no chance of victory today. The horse’s name appears to reflect his chance.

CELEBRITY SWAIN (IRE) – SWAIN (IRE) x PEINTRE CELEBRE (IRE) x AFFIRMED

This horse has only won four times in thirty-four starts. This only tells half the story. He is tough and has a good selection of speed figures with plenty of good runs in graded races. He won a grade 3 over 11f earlier this year. Take out his last run and he would appear to be the current class form wise of the race. He has a good chance in this race.

HIGH SPEED QUEST (IRE) – HIGH CHAPARRAL (IRE) x RAINBOW QUEST x IRISH RIVER (FR)

This fellow has been running well this year. He keeps hitting the board in ungraded stakes races. That being said he has failed to put his head in front either in 2008. As of yet he has not won a stakes race. It is hard to see him breaking that duck here. Should run well though place chances.

PRINCIPE DE VIANA (ENG) – MEDICEAN (GB) x HABITAT x ACK ACK

This 3yo clot seems to be on the upgrade. This has been due to an increase in trip, In his last three races he has won two but been beaten a distance in the other. He has yet to run against older horses as well. That is a big hurdle to overcome. He may well also be a 10f specialist horse. At least the trainer can find that out today. Although on the upgrade has to many questions to ask here to be taken as a serious contender.

NAGA KING (KY) – CRAFTY PROSPECTOR x NUREYEV x SECRETO

This horse is interesting in this race. He appears to like 11f his last three runs at the trip are two wins and a second. This is a funny distance and that should help him in this race. He managed a fourth in a grade 3 over 12f as well. He is the least exposed of the runners as well which means he may well have improvement in him. This is a good spot to find out if he can step up to graded class.

As for the results I take Naga King to win with Celebrity Swain and High Speed Quest taking the place spots.

[2

post-6491","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
