There were two parts to this race from Monmouth Park in New Jersey. The Junior Chevron Memorial turf Stakes for three year olds and up was run on a good turf, just slightly off fast. The mile and three sixteenths race was for a $65,000 purse.<\/p>\n
Grimnosh won the first part of this race easily as he jumped out to a blazing first quarter and followed that with an equally fast 2nd quarter. He was in command by nearly seven lengths and was over 10 lengths ahead of Barb\u2019s Comfort. Unfotunately for trainer knightmare and Grimnosh, there are two halves to every race and now it was Barb\u2019s Comfort\u2019s chance to put up some blazing quarters.<\/p>\n
Comfort easily blew by Stereotypical Cat who nearly caught Grimnosh for second but settled for third. Barb\u2019s Comfort had more than that on his mind though. His Theatrical breeding showed through as he flashed past a fading Grimnosh and won easily by almost three lengths.<\/p>\n
Trainer Marybarn has to be tickled with this three year old colt and his 4th stakes win. This should move him up into the top 50 in turf sprint ratings and close to that for classic distances as well. He is really rounding into a force to be reckoned with.
