The fillies and mares head to the main track this week in what\u2019s shaping up as a race of intrigue and mystery. There’s plenty of proven ability around the place, yet lately unwillingness to show consistency.<\/P>
1. OURWAY<\/B> \u2013 ghostrider<\/I> \u2013 Sensational form late last year and early this year seems to have been lost somewhere along the way. This could come down to just a little too much distance in her last couple, placing her very well for the distance of this weeks race. Odds of 6\/1 are good value, as a return to peak would win this race very easily.<\/P> 2. EEK A CAT<\/B> \u2013 singhis<\/I> \u2013 This filly finds herself as favourite on the morning line after hitting the board an amazing seven out of ten starts for the year. Careful placement has been responsible for these results rather than outright pace, begging the question as to just how solid a favourite she is. Although a solid and expected run will probably be enough, an unexpected return to form from one of her competitors will make life very difficult.<\/P> 3. THE PEDRO SHOW (IRE)<\/B> \u2013 jockfan<\/I> \u2013 Some impressive results have flowed the way of this filly in recent times including a couple of stakes runs in the money. She is however currently running at least a good ten or so speed point down on what will be needed for victory in this race. Admittedly her most recent races have been at longer than this one, but outright improvement will still need to be found.<\/P> 4. YAHKEE <\/B>\u2013 gone2hell<\/I> \u2013 Another filly who has some impressive allowance runs on the board, but whose speeds have decreased a little once into stakes fields. Despite this she did win two starts ago, and shortens up a little favourably for this event. Speed is there as shown three starts ago, and a repeat will see her right amongst the front pack heading to the post.<\/P> 5. POWER OF FLIGHT<\/B> \u2013 ahex64<\/I> – With possibly the fastest and most consistent form leading into this event, this filly finds herself a mere point shy of the morning line best. The astute punter would probably look very favourably upon this girl, as on paper she really does appear to be the one to beat.<\/P> 6. BARB\u2019S JACKIE E<\/B> \u2013 maxie<\/I> – Nearly all stakes dips have been rather disappointing despite a highly accomplished allowance career, bearing many victories along the way. Unfortunately there isn\u2019t a lot to suggest a turn around in stakes form, and will really need a significant improvement to challenge outright.<\/P> 7. SOPHISTICATEDWAGER<\/B> \u2013 ipicked4<\/I> \u2013 This gal heads into this race coming off a solid stakes win at 8. BARB\u2019S HOUSE<\/B> \u2013 maxie<\/I> \u2013 Outsider on the tote, but to be completely truthful a complete unknown in the complexities of this race. Two from two so far after picking up both her maiden and an allowance win in succession. On the surface this girl posses\u2019s real start quality, and if she can continue the success without being intimidated by stakes fields, then goodness only knows how much she can achieve. Frankly, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if this one improves yet again, and wins quite comfortably.<\/P> 9. BLUEBELL(GB)<\/B> \u2013 sophs<\/I> \u2013 It\u2019s sometimes difficult to relate results to outright speed ability, time and time I see the irregularity of the comparison, but this gal is a perfect example. Brilliant result after brilliant result, yet she rarely posts a really big speed number. All respect must go to her trainer, as careful placement continues to reap rewards. Unfortunately though this time round, a top five isn\u2019t out of the question, but outright might be a bit of a challenge.<\/P> This really is a very tough race to call POWER OF FLIGHT<\/B> looks to be the pick, but BARB\u2019S HOUSE<\/B> has it all in front of her. For mine, given the value on offer I\u2019d take both for the win.
