Turf Route. The turf track was listed as “good” that day, but this would not be an issue for this horse who put up an exceptional effort in his first stakes start getting to the wire in second with a 108 speed rating. The owner seems to know what to do with this horse and is looking for even bigger and better things for him when he heads out of the paddock representing The Mecca residency.

3

LET’S TRY THAT

IRE

4G

bikeboy

J Ledwith

14

7

79%

$170,561

29.00

5/1

This is a 4 year old Bay Gelding (TEN SOVEREIGNS (IRE) x AWESOME AGAIN x DYNAFORMER) that appears to have been picked up at Auction from our friend Itch who recently passed away. It looks like this horse was a good purchase for the new owner as he has never been off the boards since acquiring him and picked up six wins in the process. In his most recent start, he would be seen in Germany going 12 furlongs in a Listed Stakes, Mannart Tornado Turf Stayer. He was closing fast down the stretch but would be held off as he crossed the wire in second with a 115 speed rating. He will be pushed this weekend as he will enter in his first graded start. The horse has a good record and could be a threat here if he makes a graceful jump in Class against this field. He should rally around the third call and get into position for his stretch run when he hits the turf this Saturday representing the Empire State Racing residency.

4

DISSUN DAT

KY

4G

funster2

T Kavanagh

18

7

61%

$464,565

41.00

5/2

Next, we will see this 4 year old Chestnut Gelding who is a scratch bred (DISTORTED HUMOR x MONSUN x KRIS S.) who earlier this season would earn his GP badge when he came in third in the G2, The Grand Prix. Two starts back he would drop in Class to get the win in a Listed Stakes, Nirvana Filter Turf Stayer. In his most recent start, he would see a “yielding” turf track for the first time in Surrey going 12 furlongs in the G3, Autumn Stakes. He seemed to not enjoy the surface that day and would never be a factor as he came in a distant sixth with a 106 speed rating. This horse will see the firm turf again this weekend and I would expect a much better trip for him as this late closer hits the track representing the Empire State Racing residency.

5

JUST WAYOUT

KY

4M

48away

R Whisper

14

5

57%

$196,589

3.38

4/1

Here we have a 5 year old Bay Colt (AMERICAN PHAROAH x JUSTIFY x CURLIN) that has never run on the turf surface before in his career and he will be making his first graded appearance. Two starts back he had a very nice race going 10 furlongs for the win in a $70200 Allowance. In his most recent start, we would see him go 10.5 furlongs in Wyoming in a Listed Stakes, Auror World Dirt Route. He made a good closing effort down the stretch for home but would hit the boards in third as he seemed to run out of track in this race. The owner is in hopes that his horse can transition over to the turf surface and be able to put up a challenge. There is no question that this horse can travel this 12 furlong distance on the dirt but can he do it on the grass will be the question when he makes his way out at post time representing the All-Stars Racing residency.

6

DECISION MAKING

ENG

5M

gowans2010

G Owans

18

8

67%

$459,225

19.00

2/1

This is a 5 year old Bay Horse (OASIS DREAM (GB) x REDOUTE’S CHOICE x MONSUN) that has made some nice-looking starts for the owner this season. Two starts back he would get the win going 10.5 furlongs in a Listed Stakes, Obscene Male Turf Route with a 116 speed rating. He would then make his most recent start as he was moved up in class after that nice win to go 10 furlongs in Surrey in the G3, Chosen Stakes. He was trying to prove himself in his first graded start and would get across the wire in third with a 111 speed rating. The owner likes what he sees this season out of his horse and is giving him a big opportunity as he brings him here to Argentina as the morning line favorite. They will saddle up and make their way over to their post draw representing The Mecca residency.

7

FINAL SMACKDOWN

IRE

3M

cjt6

J Stivers

10

1

20%

$42,705

0.00

51/1

Next, we have this 3 year old Bay Colt (WOOTTON BASSETT (GB) x ROCK OF GIBRALTAR x PEINTRE CELEBRE) that has had his share of struggles. He was claimed back in April by the current owner who continued to struggle in getting this horse his first win to break his maiden. He finally achieved that goal in his most recent start in Ireland going 12 furlongs in a $58500 Maiden race of which he would go gate to wire for an easy win by almost five lengths. Just coming off his first maiden win he has not proven to the odds makers that he can be a contender in this seasoned field of horses and thus will be going off as the longest choice in the morning line as he takes a big jump in class. He will need to get out early against this field and get a good clean break out of the gate when he heads out at post time representing the East-West Connection residency.

8

FOUR JUSTICE

KY

4M

80away

J Drozd

15

4

60%

$125,988

0.22

12/1

And rounding out the field we have this 4 year old Bay Colt (JUSTIFY x DISTORTED HUMOR x STORM CAT) that will attempt to make his mark on the turf surface for the first time this weekend. His last two starts have been sprint races and he did not show up well in either start. Last time on the track we would see him in Ireland where he would go 7.5 furlongs in a $50700 NW3n Allowance. He was never a factor in this race and would cross the wire well back in sixth with a 102 speed rating. The horse will meet up with many challenges to face this weekend as he makes his first graded start. He has never gone this 12 furlong distance before and he has never run on the grass in any of his prior starts. He is going to need to bring his “A” game this weekend if he is going to be a threat when he heads over to the turf track for the first time representing the All-Stars Racing residency.

Good luck to all owners and horses!

Skippy’s Watch List

3-Let’s Try That:
