I have found two very promising sires that have shown the ability to produce very well if given the right mare. Both these sires also have the potential to improve in the near future. Bradbury’s Luck is going to be an interesting sire to follow. He is a fine example of a sire that you should be keeping a keen eye on in the next few years. Foxhound has great bargain breeding potential, and may be just the ticket for landing a fine runner in the Bargain Bred Series. Both of these sires are definitely worth a look and will cost little investment. Good luck to all sim racers, and remember to enjoy Equinics next week!

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Bradbury’s Luck (Redoute’s Choice x At Talaq x Danehill)

Bio: Bradbury’s Luck earned over $600k in earnings with a meager six starts. He won the 2004 Canonbury Stakes with blazing record time, and the 2005 MRC Blue Diamond Prelude Stakes for colts and geldings. Bradbury’s Luck has exceptional pedigree from Redoute’s Choice, and his mare Skating sired by Al Talaq who was one of the elite sprinter/miler mares in recent decades. Glen Logan Stud says, “A breathtaking individual who has almost faultless conformation, Bradbury’s Luck has the potential and breeding to become one of the major sire influences of his era.” Those are some very confident words and it will be interesting to see if Bradbury’s Luck will live up to the hype. Right now Bradybury’s Luck has a stud fee of $13,500 (AUD). The price may be a bargain considering the bloodlines tracing back to Northern Dancer and Hail to Reason.

In The Sim: In 2007 the Bradbury’s Luck produced 10 runners and of those ten only two were winners. One of those winners was a horse named Luck who has already earned over 100k, and has been an excellent three year old. Recently Luck ran a 100 speed figure.

This year Bradbury’s Luck only has four runners. Two of those runners have shown real good potential and broke maidens on turf. The best one so far this year has been Clover who has run 67 and 76 on turf respectively. Clearly Bradbury’s Luck is showing his potential to be a very good sire in the sim.

Suggested Breeding: Bradbury’s Luck x Spinning World x Mining

Nureyev bloodlines should work nice with Bradbury, as the nick has worked very well with Redoute’s Choice. I always like any solid Mr. P. option for the back end. Nijinsky II would probably be even better if you can afford it, as the ND/Nijinsky II nick is always a very good choice. I liked Mining who has Mr. P. and Buckpasser in his pedigree here, but try exploring some alternate options and you can probably find better.

Foxhound (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Danzig x Buckpasser x Northern Dancer)

Bio: Foxhound started 11 races and finished with three wins, two places, and two shows. Overall Foxhound has under produced in the sim, but that may be about to change in the near future. Icecapade adds a little more speed on to the backend. For those of you who enjoy looking at dosage for fun, the DI is 1.82, and the CD is .45. Keep in mind I used the povs.net sim dosage tool, so it may not entirely be accurate. That is very good dosage nonetheless. If you don’t want to try a cheap DS in Wolf Power, you could try another Round Table option, or a Nijinsky II option.

References

www.allandale-stud.com.au

www.bloodhorse.com

www.glenloganstud.com.au

www.pedigreequery.com

and as always the sim!

[5

post-6341","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-breeding
["GET
