Ridin’ Shotgun Headlines as Longshot. <\/p>\n
Only five entries in today’s 10th race feature,but two of them have a shot a the prize. Any resident that wins the 10th Race wins a prize horse form our holding barns. One of the crowds most cherished heroes returns to the scene of his triumphs in Ridin’ Shotgun for jrodneyg. Wenlock also takes a shot with his Red Ransom colt. The favorite looks tough though as do the others. This race is really anyone’s guess.<\/p>\n
1 SLEWED CHOICE(AUS tsunami363 O Stinson 5\/2 <\/p>\n
Tsunami is a relatively new player who has found a home seemingly in the Great Plains Residency. The 4 year old son of Redoute’s Choice was claimed three back for 10k. while this is an ambitious spot for Slewed Choice, he has shown life o the grass in the past. He’s been in the money in 5 of 7 career turf races, including two wins early in his career. The switch to dirt was useful for his past owners, but Tsunami thinks they missed something significant with the grass. If he shows any inkling of liking the grass as much as he has the dirt, this one will be dangerous. There are many questions marks though.<\/p>\n
2 PETE FOUNTAIN zooomr K Bowen 8\/5 <\/p>\n
The slight favorite hails from Zoomr Stables, a group who is unaffiliated with a residency. If your reading this zooomr – please feel free to check out the Minnesota Residency – I think you’d like it here. This son of Dixieland Band has run 45 races on the grass and has won 11 of them. His last win came just last time out with an allowance win in Arkansas. The 102 he posted in that race would put him in with a solid chance here. His only experience in Minnesota came in 2006 but he did seem to like the grounds that day. In a difficult race to handicap, Pete Fountain can not be ignored.<\/p>\n
3 SLEWRIFIC foxon3 E R Cothill 5\/2 <\/p>\n
Foxon sends this representative of Pastures of Green to the best turf in the world. A veteran of 45 races, this son of Pleasantly Perfect has won two of three recently. His last two have been on the Supertoy Lawn, one of which was a win. I’m willing to throw out the race two back due to some of the graded caliber horses that beat him. He’ll probably need a slight boost to his recent form to get the victory here, but he’s certainly capable.<\/p>\n
4 SUBSPACE(ENG) wenlock K Friar 3\/1 <\/p>\n
This wiley Minnesota resident sends the 4 year old son of Red Ransom to Minnesota for the first time this year. He graced the fans once prior in December during the Minnesota Festival. He came in 5th that day in a very tough field. A victory last out in DC makes wenlock push him back into stakes. His best game is good enough, and he has the track’s best jock on board.<\/p>\n
5 RIDIN’ SHOTGUN(KY) jrodneyg N Ballard <\/p>\n
It would surprise none of the Minnesota faithful to see this son on Gulch win here, despite the 8-1 odds. You see this horse won the Gulch Sire Series run by the Minnesota Residency. Last time out, jrodneyg took for the team by entering him in Smackdown. That race didn’t go so well, but don’t let the 14th place finish fool you. This horse knows how to win and knows how to collect checks. With 8 wins on the turf, Ridin’ Shotgun dominated the turf part of the series (and didn’t do so bad on dirt either). he knows the track well and has been rid by Ballard for most of those races. I would take a gamble on this horse today.<\/p>\n

The equinics team is nearly selected with this weekend being the deadline for nominations. A couple of residents have agreed to run their prized horses at unusual distances to allow us to have the best possible team. I am proud to call them fellow residents. No Mercy starts again next week – sign up on the message board. Dundey leads the fantasy stable contest – fantasy sports off of a simulated game – you have to love it!
