The <EM>Legendary Stables&#8217;<\/EM> gray mare, fresh off a Grade I score, folded her tent as she had previously in her career and faded all the way to next-to-last.<\/P><P>That opened the door for <EM>Snappa&#8217;s<\/EM> <STRONG>STAR OF THE NORTH ($11.20)<\/STRONG>, who represented the EAAA oh so well when she surged to the lead and held off <EM>Desperado Rob&#8217;s<\/EM> <STRONG>DERBY CAT<\/STRONG> by half a length. Saturday&#8217;s victory marked the fourth Grade 2 score of Star of the North&#8217;s fine career. She rises to No. 27 in the Distaff Classic rankings.<\/P><P>Apologies to <EM>Iant,<\/EM> whose fine filly, <STRONG>FROZEN STRAW<\/STRONG>, could not carry the ambitions of the retired WV reporter.
