The race is named for Quick Seattle who was a nine time winner. This seven and a half furlong Stakes for 2 year olds willl be run on the turf course which is always so nice here. This $75,000 stakes has a somewhat small field but could be interesting, Lets take a look:

#1 EONIAN(IRE) trainer – obudhghail, ( 6/1), Jockey – M. Mson (16%), Avg Sp # (80.2)
This Fasliyev colt may have really found his calling last time out when he switched to the grass and made immense improvement. He won the race but will be trying his first stakes race. He likes the distance and the turf though and may be a colt to be reckoned with.

#2 MIDNIGHT HOUR(IRE)trainer – cindyshero, ( 5/1), Jockey – P. Jones (13%), Avg Sp # 27(73.6)
Irish bred Perfect Soul colt out of Steve’s Ton has really been impressive. Two firsts and two second in his four races and last time out was his first Stakes where he made a huge push down the stretch to claim second. His times are a bit slow but he keeps showing improvement. With P Jones in the stirrups he should know where to point his nose at the finish.

#3 ROCK FOR THE AGES(IRE) trainer – marto, ( 9/), Jockey – W. Farthing (11%), Avg Sp # (N/A)
One of four Irish breds in the race, the favored Rock of Gibralter colt is making his first trip on turf but looks to be well suited by his breeding. He’s done well on the dirt with two wins in 4 trips but I’m a bit surprised that this is the first turf showing and especially after throwing a 92 speed figure and a nice win last time. First time turf and first time stakes doesn’t bode well but this is a lot of horse. Kind of tough to figure here.

#4 WONDERBOY ESCORT trainer – wonder5, ( 9/2), Jockey – S. Marts (11%), Avg Sp # (73.6)
Wonderboy is by Silver Ghost out of Christiana and is a light grey beauty. He had two really nice races on turf, finishing with a first and a second before last time out. There he bumped heads in a Grade One on an off track and none of it was to his liking. Other than the G1, this will be his first stakes race and he may take a try or two to get it together after that last fiasco. This should be a good stepping stone.

#5 LUIGI DI BIAGIO trainer – ruby7, ( 6/1), Jockey – K. Thomas (6%), Avg Sp # (70.8)
Sweet sounding breeding of Lemon Drop Kid out of Cinamon Street leads to a pretty nice colt here.
He’s done better on the grass but tried a stakes on the dirt last time out and that was pretty much a clunker. Like most youngsters he is trying to find his place and I expect this race to be another experience for him.

#6 TRITON(IRE) trainer – niarchos, ( 5/2), Jockey – J. Jacobsson (10%), Avg Sp # (81.6)
I feel kind of like I’m at the St Paddys parade in New York City with all of these Irish ponies running on the green. With Galileo and Pientre Celebre in the breeding mix, you know this guy likes the turf. He certainly showed that in his maiden voyage last time out with a wire to wire win and a nice 82 speed figure. He looks like the real deal and may be setting out on a long and prosperous voyage with this race.

With favorites on different surfaces and first time stakes runners and just the fact that these ARE two year olds, you can pretty much put them in a hat and pick your winner. But if I must, I will take ROCK FOR THE AGES third and EONIAN second. As much as I hate to choose a colt to win in his second race, I think TRITON gets the green beer here after visiting the winners circle.

Good luck to all runners!

Paz

[2

post-625","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
