Our Feature race of the day is the Grade III Timber Stakes<\/EM>, for 3 year old fillies and mares,\u00a0<\/FONT>going 1 1\/16 miles over an off dirt track. Here’s a brief look at those going postward:<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
1.<\/FONT>\u00a0Die Verwandlung<\/STRONG>\u00a0 9\/2 – Race 3 starts back was the third of three wins in a row.\u00a0 That was in a\u00a0<\/FONT>small stakes race. Came back the next out to run up front and take a nice third in the\u00a0<\/FONT>prestigious Gr. I California Oaks at big odds. Then threw in a dull outing LTO in anouther\u00a0<\/FONT>Gr. I.\u00a0 Has been off over a month now. Should rebound with a nice effort today.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
2. Hoosier Queen<\/STRONG>\u00a0 6\/1 – Nicely bred and lightly raced grey mare, has never been worse\u00a0<\/FONT>than 3rd in 5 lifetime starts. Her race LTO was a nice closing win in her first try around two turns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT>Steps up in class once again today, and could surprise.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
3. Too Gold<\/STRONG>\u00a0 9\/2 –\u00a0This tough grey mare has been either\u00a0first or third in all 6 of her lifetime starts,\u00a0<\/FONT>all around 2 turns. Well bred and has shown lots of heart, but has only 1 off track start, and that\u00a0<\/FONT>was A fading third in A short field of 4. She does have good early speed.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
4. War Treaty<\/STRONG>\u00a0 11\/1 – Mare with good bloodlines, and seems to be just now coming into her own.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT>The last 3 starts are her first three trys around 2 turns, and she has not been worse than third in\u00a0<\/FONT>those races. A bit more improvement today could put her close.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
5. Tale Of Peace<\/STRONG>\u00a0 4\/1 – This girl certainly shouldn’t mind the distance or the off going. Her career\u00a0<\/FONT>began with two sub-par sprints before the trainer switched her to routes, where her first 3 trys \u00a0were a\u00a0<\/FONT>third, then she\u00a0won two straight,\u00a0 ALL THREE IN THE MUD, the last being a small stakes race. She\u00a0<\/FONT>usually runs from mid pack. I will definately be playing her in my exotics.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
6. Virago Victory<\/STRONG>\u00a0 12\/1\u00a0– Mainly a sprinter, and a good one, but was up the track in her only route\u00a0<\/FONT>try at this level. Also\u00a0today will be her first try on an off track.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
7. Sisson’s Stown <\/STRONG>\u00a05\/2 – Comes in well rested, and having won her last three starts. In 5 lifetime starts\u00a0<\/FONT>around two turns, she has 3 wins and two seconds. She can lead, or set just off the pace. The only<\/FONT>\u00a0question is, how will she do in her career\u00a0debut on an off track?\u00a0 I’m thinking that she may not win,\u00a0<\/FONT>but her heart and class will keep her close.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
8. Sky Stag<\/STRONG>\u00a0 6\/1 – Has A win and two seconds from 5 lifetime races on off tracks, accounting for\u00a0<\/FONT>almost exactly a third of her career earnings. She is a regular at this level, and has enough speed\u00a0<\/FONT>to be the pacesetter. Could hang on for part.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
