Race # 16
NY Sire Series (apply on forum) — Owner Restricted Purse: $50,000
All horses, 3 years old — RESTRICTED TO PARTICULAR OWNERS
Seven furlongs — Fast Dirt

Time of race: 1:24 2/5

We had a decent turn out for the second race. Fifteen horses showed up for the second race in the NY Sires Series. After the sloppy conditions in the first race – the sun was shining and it was a good day for racing!

MARLINA(NY) jumped out to a dominant lead and continued to pull away from the crowd until the 3rd call (5 1/2 lengths!)when the jockey eased up. NY’S MOST WANTED(NY)held the second spot by a narrow margin and KP CRUSADER(NY)held the third spot ahead of a large crowd by a narrow margin at the 1st call. At the second call: THE EYES OF RASH(NY) got a peak at the second place and NY’S MOST WANTED(NY) maintained pace and managed to only fall to 3rd. At the third call: the field settled into line with MARLINA(NY) at her peak lead along with GIANTS WIN SB XLII(NY) and THE EYES OF RASH(NY) fighting for second. Down the stretch MARLINA(NY) eased up and GIANTS WIN SB XLII(NY) kicked it up a notch and pulled away from the crowd. THE EYES OF RASH(NY) held on to secure the show. The favorites FAST TONY(NY) and THIS IS FUN(NY) closed out the top 5.

THE EYES OF RASH(NY) deserves special mention due to nabbing his second straight 3rd place in the series. This horse has heart. How will he react to the upcoming mile race? Only time will tell.

Congrats to the stable owners and residencies!

Their horses grabbed the QL for the qualification lock into the NY Sires Series $250,000 Showdown.

For the bettors out there: the winner paid $20.90, the exacta paid $164.80, and the trifecta paid $3,091.20.

The next race in the series is a 8f MSW in week 3609 (6/07/08). We are still accepting new entries. Breed up a new 3yo horse or pick one up in the auction. We have room for 20 horses in the third race and we would love to fill it up!

If you have an existing horse with a win, you still have a chance to qualify for entry into the $250,000 NY Sire Showdown in July (see NY Sires thread on the forum for rules).
