In this series, if you win you risk the problem of not being able to compete in future races because of the conditions of the race. Because USA won early and moved this up to a NW of Four, that hasn’t been a problem this time. Now LEGADILLO has won three in the past year which puts him on the edge but one of those wins should drop off in time for the next race which would enable him to stay in it once again if he wins. That surely looks like good news for him as he is running more like a young teenager instead of an old sun of a gun. He won by nearly three lengths and jumped out to an eight point lead in the standings.

In the race itself, host horse USA who looked so strong early in the series is now looking like he has hit that proverbial wall and is more ready for the retirement home than the Senior Citizen Center!. Last race he finished last and this time he was only one better finishing in almost a dead heat with perennial caboose PRESTO and looked like he would have lost if the race was even a yard longer. Newcomer ROBOT PIMPLES looked pretty spry at the start of the race, moving out to an early lead and looked as if he would show all these geezers what a young ten year old he is. That however was not to be the case. The old body betrayed him and he dropped back quickly at the top of the stretch to eventually finish seventh. Our second and third place horses in the OMOTM Standings, old mare WHISPER and the old Irish Leprechaun himself, CELTIC LEGEND switched it up in the race with late runs to finish third and second.

In a separate part of the race, in what we call the Sun Dial Standings, the race for last place is almost as coveted in the win in this series for Senior Citizens. The winner of the Sun Dial Trophy is held in high regard back at the old folks horme. It’s always a lot of fun to see who contends. With the last place photo finish between USA and PRESTO both of whom had points from previous races and solidified their spot at the top of the bottom standings, in first and second. I don’t think that is what USA’s trainer RiverDance had in mind at the start of this series, with his prized horse running for the Sun Dial championship! A newcomer to this series although he was certainly a contender in the last series Sun Dial standing,s LYNCHBURG LEMONADE got a point for third to the end and got into the series Sun Dial Standings.

So now with the series half way over, we still have no idea which end of the championship USA is running in, the leaders or the lovable losers! There are still plenty of races left in the ten race series and lots of things can happen including quite a few heart attacks and strokes among the participants, so it should be interesting down the road. That’s what makes this series so much fun.. Stay tuned Race Fans!

Best of luck to all of these fine old guys and gals!

The Leader Standings in the series:

LEGADILLO (LuvsTheKey) 16 Points

WHISPER (Be1stFarms) 8 Points

CELTIC LEGEND (Correction) 8 Points

OASIS CAT (MEP) 6 Points

USA (RiverDance) 6 Points

COROKEYPRIN (IrishMan2) 3 Points

FURIOUS ODYSSEUS (RedRum) 3 Points

Sun Dial Standings in the series:

PRESTO (Ernieman) 16 Points

USA (RiverDance) 9 Points

RUBY ATTIC (FaerieBad) 9 Points

MARIO MOMENT (Tsunami3) 6 Points

SLY SHOT (Tsunami36) 3 Points

LARIONOV (IrishMan) 3 Points

SERPENTINE INVADER (DarkFaerie) 2 Points

BRATTICUS (TheFred) 1 Point

LYNCHBURG LEMONDADE (ErnieMan) 1 Point

Good luck to all runners!

Email your comments to pazjazz.btb@gmail.comI love to hear from you!

[3

post-5966","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-reviews
["GET
