Adding to the excitement of Derby Day, Miscalculation remains undefeated as she takes the win in the first running of the Grade 1 COSINE CUP. With a speed of 105, she set the standard for this race with a time of 1:28 4\/5 and with that win she reached over $1 million in career earnings. She stood proudly in the winner’s circle, barely breaking a sweat, with her ecstatic trainer fanatical<\/I> by her side and her regular Kentucky jockey, D Givins.<\/SPAN><\/P>

So, let’s take a look and see what happened.<\/SPAN><\/P>


<\/P>

It was a clean break for the field and by the first call, only 5 lengths separated all fourteen horses in the field. <\/SPAN>Suhey <\/B><\/SPAN>was in the lead by a head over <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Justify.<\/B><\/SPAN> <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Miscalculation <\/B><\/SPAN>settled into third with <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Mean Girl <\/B><\/SPAN>just a whisker behind in fourth. In fifth was <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Sainte Chappelle<\/B><\/SPAN>. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Minister of Honor<\/B><\/SPAN>, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Al Forest<\/B><\/SPAN>, <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Kotton Kandy<\/B><\/SPAN> and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Gilded Edge<\/B><\/SPAN> all were racing 3 \u00bc lengths off the lead in sixth through ninth. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Downtown Fargo <\/B><\/SPAN>was half a length behind them in tenth with \u00bc of a length back to <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Pomeroy’s Quest<\/B><\/SPAN> in eleventh. Another \u00bc of a length back was <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Stormspector<\/B><\/SPAN> in twelfth and <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Death’s Door<\/B><\/SPAN> raced in thirteenth another \u00bc of a length behind her. Trailing the field was <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>CK Ghost Prospect<\/B><\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>

At the halfway mark it was still<\/SPAN><\/SPAN> <\/B><\/SPAN>the same except it was 7 \u00bc furlongs from the leader to the trailer. They were beginning to make their moves and by the third call it was Miscalculation who had taken over the lead. CK Ghost Prospect, who had been trailing the field had moved up into seventh and Stormspector had moved up from twelfth to fifth. Sainte Chappelle had moved up into third, 2 lengths back.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>

At the wire it was all Miscalculation, 1 \u00be lengths ahead of the field. CK Ghost Prospect had managed to move past the rest of the field to finish in second and Stormspector moved up to finish in third. Sainte Chappelle finished in fourth and Pomeroy’s Quest finished fifth. The favorite, Minister of Honor, failed to meet her expectations and finished in sixth.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>

Miscalculation has become a force to be reckoned with on the track. With seven wins in seven starts she has the makings of a great racehorse. Congratulations to Miscalculation and trainer <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>fanatical<\/SPAN><\/I> for a great win today.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>
