The Big SIM party of the Equinics takes place in the Far East, and the world\u2019s best turf sprinters will be clashing in the Grade I Puertorrican Parrot, which will be run at six panels on the China Grass Course. Let\u2019s take a look at this magnificent field:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. SHAMELESS QUALITY<\/strong> – SHAMARDAL x ELUSIVE QUALITY x SEATTLE SLEW (6\/1)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    He was the winner of the Breeders Bowl Turf Sprint, in a race in which he led from start to finish. He has proven to be a need the lead type, so jockey D. Evans will be sending him from the gitgo and they pray for him to go wire to wire without much pressure up front. The problem here is that there are other very speedy horses signed in, so his work will be easy at all. Owner thehorsehotel is extremely confident that we will see a much improved effort from him, second time off the shelf. The Only Stayers residency will be cheering from the stands, and they have a very legitimate chance to win here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. PRINCE DESTINY<\/strong> \u2013 DUBAWI (IRE) X FRANKEL (GB) X KINGMAMBO (8\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He was very consistent last year, and showed up with his biggest race in the BB.  His trainer futurestar, representing the MIDAS residency, is a little worried that he’s at a disadvantage to the younger, more lightly raced horses, as after start 20 horses can start to lose a little whether it be their consistency or their top speed.  He is hoping the short break he got after his disappointing effort to end the year has him back in top form, and he\u2019s also hoping that he will get a hot pace upfront, as his best efforts have come when he can come late with his run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3.MY THOUGHTS<\/strong> – DARK ANGEL (IRE) X MY BOY CHARLIE X FOREST WILDCAT (32\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He has been an ATM machine for his connections. Now he will try to step up his game to try to beat the best grass sprinters in the SIM. Certainly it is not an easy task what he is trying to do, and his trainer beng acknowledges it. But just the fact that his colt is representing The Mecca residency is a privilege and he is confident that his horse will give his top lifetime effort to compete in here. The 32-1 odds are justified, as he hasn\u2019t been able to win at the Graded level since his two year old season. But he will be a proud flag bearer for his team, and that\u2019s the main thing of the Equinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4.BON BON BUM<\/strong>  – FRANKEL (GB) x CURLIN x A.P. INDY (25\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He is one of the least experienced participant in this race, with only nine races in his career. But most definitely, he has shown the talent to be a part of this elite event. By looking at his past performances, it is obvious that he is not as seasoned as the majority of the horses in here, so he has a clear disadvantage in that regard. But trainer haack08, representing the Latinos del Mundo residency, is not worried about that. Jockey instructions will be to take back and make a single run, and then see what happens. The 25-1 ML odds are not a surprise, but because he might still have some upside potential, you cannot say he is totally impossible in here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. CHRISTMAS PIRATE<\/strong> – SHAMARDAL x NUREYEV x FORTY NINER (13\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Seventeen times placed of out nineteen races lifetime is all you have to know about this colt. He is as consistent as they will come, and he opened his 2022 season by winning his first ever Grade I, the Pekays Remembrance Series at a very generous 17-1 price. His most prestigious wins have come in this six furlongs trip, so this race fits him to a tee. His owner\/trainer piratescove is extremely confident that his horse has a lot left in the tank, and that we have not seen the best of him as of yet. If he is right, then he should be one of the horses to beat in here. The Northwest Racing Club residency has a very powerful card in this race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. FIDUCIARY GAIN<\/strong> – GALILEO (IRE) x SOFT FALLING RAIN x CLODOVIL (IRE) (12\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Although we can\u2019t say he is a winning machine (just 3 wins in 25 starts), this son of Galileo has been a very consistent money producer for trainer\/owner alysalley2, a proud member of the East West Connection residency, which has been representing his residency for the last 8 years. It is true that he needs to show that he belongs with these, but his Speed Figures are on par with the best in here, and more importantly, are trending in the right direction. He has a stalking style, with a great late turn of foot, which is perfectly suited for this trip and surface, and with some improvement, he can be a very interesting longshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7.KING ZOUS<\/strong> – ZOUSTAR x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x A.P. INDY (17\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This colt won the two year old version of this race in the 2020 Equinics, so he is no stranger to this big stage. He is coming into this race off a bit of a layoff, but trainer summerset5, carrying the colors of the Elite Racing Club, is not concerned about this, as the colt is been training lights out in the mornings. His performance in his most recent race, which was his first versus older foes, tells us he needs to step up a notch or two to have a chance, but don\u2019t disregard his opportunity, as he can be one that comes into his own at four. Not without a fighting chance here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. C SHARP OR B FLAT<\/strong> – DISTORTED HUMOR x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x SADLER’S WELLS (38\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Del Penn National residency is here represented by this royally bred colt, which has been competing against much lesser company. This is why the ML maker relegates him to be the longest shot on the board, at 38-1 odds.  His trainer Catahoula understands he is facing a pretty tall task when he goes against some of the bred turf sprinters in the SIM. But at the same time, he is not backing down of any challenges and hopes that his horses will perform at its best this Saturday. He needs a hot pace up front to have a chance to pick up some if the pieces late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    9. I AM A DETECTIVE<\/strong> – I AM INVINCIBLE (AUS) x EXCEED AND EXCEL x GHOSTZAPPER (14\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is a Grade 3 winner that lacks some consistency, but no doubt that he has enough talent to compete in this race. He is a 6 yr old and in his first start of the 2022 season he did not find that spark that enabled him to win a Grade III in last September. His trainer chillingfarms, from the Hoosier Racing Residency, hopes he can rebound with a better performance, but acknowledges he is no spring chicken anymore. He is up against some very good quality horses in this race that have been running well in their recent starts. Just hoping his horse will find that spark again and show up well against this very tough field of contenders. He should be part of that early flight, let\u2019s see how well his jockey can nurture that speed, second time off the layoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    10. WASH RINSE REPEAT<\/strong> – SEA THE STARS x DANEHILL x KRIS S. (19\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With just eight races in his career, he is at a disadvantage in experience when comparing him to the majority in here. But don\u2019t be fooled by this; he is an extremely talented runner, and his trainer Appalachia, from the powerful GR Simsters residency, is extremely confident on his horse\u2019s ability to withstand that lack of experience that he shows. Here is a case of the light bulb angle in effect. After winning his maiden in his fourth career start, in a race in which his trainer decided to cut back from routing, he hasn\u2019t lost. And all of his wins have been at this six panels distance, showing a great affinity for this trip. He already won his first stakes race, and the sky is the limit for this son of Sea the Stars, who will look to pounce from mid pack, with a very nice chance of an upset, at juicy 19-1 odds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    11. ANGASTON<\/strong> – CHOISIR x ZOUSTAR x LONHRO (16\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During his 2021 campaign, he ran almost exclusively in distances much longer than this. For 2022, trainer grassman, who bears the flag of the Universal Racing Club residency, changed his plan, and now he will concentrate in sprints rather than routes. The change was already in place in that first start of this year, and he ran a solid fourth in Grade I company. With that race under his belt, and the foundation of being a Grade I winner running longer, he can be a very interesting longshot on Saturday. He is a stalker, so we will see him right in that second flight, with a reasonable chance to get up in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    12. JAN OORT<\/strong> – MISSION IMPAZIBLE x DUTCH ART (GB) x NUREYEV (12\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is a six year old veteran had a very productive year in 2021, winning three stakes races and placing in another two, so his connections are extremely pleased with him. He is trying to take his game up a notch or two, facing graded quality horses for the first time. In this regard, he is definitely at a disadvantage. But I interviewed his trainer hullwayne, representing the European Union Racing Organization residency, and he told me he will not trade his position with any trainer in this field. His horse is peaking at the right time, and if he gave him a rest and comes off the layoff for this race, is because he feels his horse stands the best chance coming from the bench,. His works have been solid for his return, and if things fall into place (contested pace), he can make his presence felt late in the stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    13. SINGLE WING SWEEP<\/strong> – HARRIS TWEED x DANSILI (GB) x KINGMAMBO (20\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Hard knocking colt that won his maiden at the $150,000 claiming level, and then followed that with another win at the same price tag. So you can say that it is sort of a rags to riches story that he makes this quality field. Speed figure wise, he is definitely right there with the best of them. Obviously, he doesn\u2019t have the experience or seasoning, but trainer cantario, from the Canadian Thoroughbred Residency, tells me his horse is ready to perform no matter how much more experienced are his rivals. He has shown the ability, it\u2019s just a matter of knowing if he can step up to the new challenge of facing graded quality horses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    14. JUNGLANO<\/strong> \u2013JUNGLE POCKET x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x FAPPIANO (9\/2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This is a horse that peaked from March until September of last year, winning two Grade II and one Grade I. Those races were the main reason why he was considered one of the post time favorites in the Breeders Bowl Turf Sprint, in which he came just short. Owner and trainer  astinator, from the very good All Satrs Racing residency,  gave him a prep last month and he came flying late. That showing should get him in tip top shape for this important commitment. He needs a very hot pace in front of him, and he should get it without any problems. If he can find the spaces late, he is very dangerous, and the ML maker has made him the 9\/2 favorite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    15. NEVER NO CANDY<\/strong> – NO NAY NEVER x MUHAARAR x DANZIG (7\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The horse representing the always consistent Empire State Racing residency, he is taking his game a notch or two above what he has been dealing with. Fellow ESR member and perennial leader of the ESR standings, kingab, sit with me regarding his chances on this race. He is a colt out of one of his favorite girls, the Eclipse award winning CANDY SMUGGLER. He acknowledges this will be a difficult race for my guy as this will be his first try against graded company, but the only one that doesn\u2019t stand a chance is the one that stays in the barn, so here he is. He needs to improve, no question about it, but I am sure he will be a worthy representative of our residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    16. BATH BOMBS – <\/strong>BOBBY’S KITTEN x GALILEO (IRE) x STREET CRY (8\/1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have a horse that has won fifteen out of twenty four races lifetime, with five other placings, you know that you have a treasure in your hands. It doesn\u2019t matter if he has made a living by beating lesser company; any horse that has such a great lifetime record is a horse that merits respect. So, the British and European Club residency will be well represented by this colt, whose preferred style of running is either at the lead or being a part of that first flight. Let\u2019s see how his jockey J. Stievers will manage him, but trainer spruce4 indicated that they will be gunning for the lead at all costs. If he is allowed a clear advantage at those initial stages, he can be a wire to wire threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
