The first Saturday of racing in Spring 2008 promises to be a good one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The weather is gorgeous, the flowers are blossoming and the track is listed as firm for the 10th<\/SUP> running of the Boogity Bear Stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>We have a field of twelve colts and horses, 4, 5, 6 year olds and even one 7 year old.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The stakes record for the Boogity Bear Stakes is held by last year\u2019s winner, Rockin\u2019 Pnemonia<\/B> with a 108.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I definitely think that record can and will be broken this Saturday.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

This 5 year old brown horse out of Fantastic Ollie<\/B> is no stranger to graded company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In fact the only race in his career that was not a stakes races was his first race.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Since then he has competed in this class or higher 15 out of his 22 career starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has definitely been competitive in the last year, finishing in the money 66% of the time, but hasn\u2019t been first across the line in over a year.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Almost all of Ollie\u2019s races in the last year were G1, maybe with the drop in class he will be able to bring home another win.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Last Groom is by far the most experienced horse in the field.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Having run 52 races in his 7 years, he has just topped the million dollar mark in earnings for Tsyndicate Stables.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It has been a few months since this longshot has put up a triple digit speed figure, and he will probably need to do that Saturday if he wants to finish in the money. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>He has raced Seeking Sal (5 times), Maverick and Grand Trigger, also in today\u2019s race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

This 6 year old out of Mac\u2019s Courage<\/B> has a very impressive past performance history.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is a 9 time G1 winner and has brought home over 6 million dollars for Topicount Stables<\/B>.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He also is tied for the highest speed rating in the field with 114.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has put up high enough speed figures late last year to be competitive here, but in his only race in 2008 his speed was 89.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In his last two races he faced Qamby, Grand Trigger and Last Groom T, finishing behind all of them.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He did win against Qamby last summer.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>Seeking Sal will have top jockey H. McCoy and is the only top ten ranked horse here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

This two time stakes winner will be gunning for his first graded win on Saturday.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Gum Stables is definitely not dumber then a rock to claim this 4 year old out of Feel So Stupid<\/B>, he has won 5 of his 8 races since being claimed last summer.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although he finished behind Maverick in his last race out, he beat Fearsome and Grand Trigger in his win at The CLIQUE RALPH Handicap in January.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>He career high speed figure of 113 was at this distance, but will have to hold strong against the late runners to win here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Kaleidescope Eyes is a lightly raced colt based on Gringotts<\/B>.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although he has two wins and two places in his 4 stakes tries, his graded stakes tries were not as successful.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>After his last attempt in this class trainer derbybound<\/B> gave him almost 4 months of rest.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He came out of that with a nice jump in speed in his last two races, posting career high of 114 (and tied for high in this field).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He tries again here to make the jump in class and I think this time he will be successful.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Magic<\/B>, is racing in graded stakes for the first time in two years.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has been in stakes on and off since then, but has only been the first one across the line once.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He definitely has the speed to be competitive here and he finished ahead of Dumber Then A Rock in his last time out.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He will be joining the many other late runners here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

This should be a great race to watch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The morning line says it will be Maverick or Ollie\u2019s Gone<\/B> followed by Kaleidescope Eyes<\/B>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>I think we will see Grand Trigger<\/B>, Dumber Then A Rock<\/B> and Whatitsallabout<\/B><\/SPAN> fighting for the early lead, but with a full crop of late runners it will be interesting to see what happens about third call.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think Dumber Then A Rock<\/B> will hold on for the second place finish just behind Kaleidescope Eyes<\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My pick for third is Seeking Sal.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Good luck and happy racing to all.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\ud83d\ude42<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
