Well\nas a member of the Canadian Thoroughbred Residency, it gives me great pleasure\nto write up the first of many exciting stakes races for the Canadian Bred\nhorses in the sim. The first of these is the Fury Stakes for the 3yo fillies.\nWeather is fine and the track rated firm for racing here on Saturday. Only six\nhorses entered for the race, but should be entertaining. Let\u2019s take a look at\nthe field.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. 12132 \u2013 Genius Prize<\/strong> (Town Prize) Owned by mississauga.\n\u2013 Jockey \u2013 Ra Tice 9\/5.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly with an impeccable record of 7-3-3-1 and banking $127k. Filly by Canadian sire Town Prize (Speightstown \u2013 Prized). Favourite for the race having never missed the board. Last start she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 9F Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> only a \u00bd length from the early lead. Moved to within a head on the turn and only faded late, beaten 2.5 lengths with an SP of 74. Prior to that she was 3rd<\/sup> in the Lyrical Dirt Filly Route 8.5F<\/strong>. Sat 4th<\/sup> around 8 lengths from the lead. Still 4th<\/sup> around 8 lengths off them on the turn. Made ground the last furlong, beaten 5 lengths with an SP of 88. Before that she won an 8F Allowance. Led all the way, opening a lead of just over a length on the turn. Kicked strongly the last furlong and won well, by 2 lengths with an SP of 89. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 7F Allowance. Sat 4th<\/sup> around 3 lengths from the lead. Moved to 2nd<\/sup> on the turn and stayed on well, beaten \u00bd length with an SP of 88. Racing well and she should be too strong for this field. Big chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. 22133 \u2013 Again With No<\/strong> (Nonios) Owned by stuger141 \u2013 Jockey \u2013 S. Jones 6\/1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly with nice overall record of 11-2-5-2 and banking $61k. Filly by Canadian Sire Nonios (Pleasantly Perfect \u2013 Touch Gold). Hasn\u2019t been to this distance for a while but should be fine. Last start she was 3rd<\/sup> in a 4.5F Allowance on a sloppy track. Sat 2nd<\/sup> around 2 lengths from the early lead. Dropped to 3rd<\/sup> on the turn around 3 lengths from them. Stayed on well, beaten 4 lengths with an SP of 70. Prior to that she was 3rd<\/sup> in a 6F Allowance. Sat 4th<\/sup> around 5 lengths from the lead. Moved to 4th<\/sup> on the turn, still 4 lengths off them. Finished okay, beaten just under 3 lengths with an SP of 83. Before that she won a 5.5F Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> only \u00bd length from the lead. Took over on the turn and kicked clear to win by just over a length with an SP of 81. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 5F SA. Sat 4th<\/sup> around 1 length from the lead. Moved to 2nd<\/sup> on the turn and strong the last furlong, beaten just under a length with an SP of 82. Racing well and should be competitive. Chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. 12171 \u2013 Canadian Payday<\/strong> (Cape Canaveral) Owned by oldmoonselite6. \u2013 Jockey \u2013 G. Scott 5\/2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly with nice record of 6-3-1-1 and banking $90k. From Canadian Sire Cape Canaveral (Mr Prospector \u2013 Seattle Slew). Racing well of late and has to be a big chance here. Last start she won a 6F Allowance. Sat 3rd<\/sup> around 4 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 2nd<\/sup> on the turn, still 2 lengths from them. Finished really well the last furlong to win by 1.5 lengths with an SP of 89. Prior to that she was 7th<\/sup> in the 8F Canadian Thoroughbred Survivor Series<\/strong>. Sat 4th<\/sup> around 4.5 lengths from the lead. Faded from the turn and well beaten, 10.5 lengths with an SP of 84. Before that she won a 6F Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> right on the early speed. Took over on the turn and held on well the last furlong to win by \u00bc of a length with an SP of 77. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 7F Allowance. Led early and opened up by over 2 lengths on the turn. Stayed on okay, beaten just over a length with an SP of 81. She could lead here and prove hard to run down. Chance off knocking off the favourite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. 22621 \u2013 Monster Craftsman<\/strong> (Bright Valour) Owned by ontracingb \u2013 Jockey \u2013 R. Crandlemire 7\/2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly with nice overall record of 8-2-3-1 and banking $58K. By Canadian Sire Bright Valour (Wild Again \u2013 Well Decorated). Another filly racing well at present but mainly on turf. Last start she won a 6.5F Claimer on Turf. Sat 3rd<\/sup> around 2 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 2nd<\/sup> within \u00bd length on the turn. Raced clear the last furlong to win by 1.5 lengths with an SP of 87. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 5.5F Turf Claimer. Sat 2nd<\/sup> right on the early speed. Sat there all the way and battled well to the line, beaten \u00bd length with an SP of 83. Before that she was 6th<\/sup> in an 8F Allowance. Sat 3rd<\/sup> around 1 length from the lead. Was still there on the turn but faded the last furlong, beaten nearly 5 lengths with an SP of 82. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 6.5F Turf Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> right on the early speed. Stayed there throughout just fading the last furlong, beaten 1.5 lengths with an SP of 74. Dirt stats are okay but she looks a turf runner and may struggle here. Outside chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. 22311 \u2013 Counter Effect<\/strong> (Counterforce) Owned by ontracingb \u2013 Jockey \u2013 J. Reiley 9\/1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly with impeccable overall record of 11-4-4-3 and banking $88K. 2nd<\/sup> of the stable\u2019s entries and the better chance I feel. By Canadian sire Counterforce (Smart Strike \u2013 Bernardini). Racing well in lesser grade. Last start she won a 6F Claimer. Led early and opened up a lead of nearly 2 lengths on the turn. Stayed on strongly to win by nearly 3 lengths with an SP of 63. Prior to that she won a 5.5F Claimer. Sat 3rd<\/sup> around 1.5 lengths from the lead. Moved to within a head on the turn and raced clear the last furlong to win by 1.5 lengths with an SP of 75. Before that she was 3rd<\/sup> in a 5F Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> just under a length from the lead. Dropped to 3rd<\/sup> on the turn and maintained that to the line, beaten just over a length with an SP of 68. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 4.5F Allowance. Sat 2nd<\/sup> close to the pace, early. Still 2nd<\/sup> on the turn and faded a little late, but held 2nd<\/sup>, beaten just over a length with an SP of 71. Her times are a bit below the best here, though she should be competitive. Chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. 17321 \u2013 Fernie Girl<\/strong> (Conquest Curlinate) Owned by ontracingg \u2013 Jockey \u2013 C. Huey 5\/1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3yo filly who\nhas been consistent of late. Overall record 9-5-1-2 and banking $147K. 3rd<\/sup>\nfilly from the ontracing stables. By Canadian sire Conquest Curlinate (Curlin \u2013\nPeaks and Valleys). Been good lately and capable of placing. Last start she won\na 6.5F Claimer. Led all the way, opening a lead of 2 lengths on the turn.\nStayed on strongly and kicked the last furlong to win by 3 lengths with an SP\nof 79. Prior to that she was 2nd<\/sup> in a 6F SA. Led early by a head.\nDropped to 2nd<\/sup> on the turn and stayed on well, beaten a length with\nan SP of 78. Before that she was 3rd<\/sup> in a 6F Allowance. Led early\nand opened a lead of 1 length on the turn. Faded the last furlong, beaten just\nover a length with an SP of 80. Prior to that she was 7th<\/sup> in the One\nElocat Dirt Juvenile Fillies 5.5F. Sat 7th<\/sup> around 1.5 lengths from\nthe early lead. Maintained that position throughout, fading late, beaten 5\nlengths with an SP of 74. She looks the only chance of toppling the top two.\nShould run well. Chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Bit\ndisappointing with only six starters. Really any horse could win on the day, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
