Auction 3497<\/SPAN><\/B> – Wow – What a difference a week makes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>All facets of the auction were up and were people spending their money.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Ten horses went for well over a million dollars and I reviewed the five top sellers that were not obvious, at least to me, stable transfers.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With the top horses ranging in price from one to over five million it doubled the total sales and raised the average over $50,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Even the old guys did well with six of the horses over 10 years selling for more than a dollar. Yes, what a difference a week makes! <\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Auction Seen<\/SPAN><\/B> – All the way to the front door of the Members Lounge, a fancy name if you ask me as everyone belongs, I was praying that the fire would be lit in the old wood stove.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Much to everyone’s dismay, rain and sleet accompanied me in when I shoved my way in through the door. I was sure was glad to see that fire burning merrily and I gave a silent thank you to Genebaum<\/I><\/B> for donating it to the sale barn.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mark<\/I><\/B> and Oldguy<\/I><\/B> were helping all people out, not just me, by slamming the door shut against a mighty strong wind every time someone came in.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Of course they were probably being beguiled by the charms of Keeley<\/I><\/B>, and Lisa<\/I><\/B> who were among a group by the door.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although I tried to shake my umbrella off discretely, I think I got a few people wet as I sure got some nasty looks from Grumpy<\/I><\/B> and Polpot<\/I><\/B> but that wasn’t unusual. It wasn’t until I made my way through the crowd to my table and sat down that I was able to stuff the offending umbrella down under my chair, take off my wet coat and look around.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Beeascout<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> was showing Turkeyboy<\/I><\/B> down to Lime<\/I><\/B> and Appletree’s<\/I><\/B> spot by the rail right next to Candyland<\/I><\/B> who was sitting between Mountains<\/I><\/B> and Fortmarcy<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Redhead<\/I><\/B> and Redbullet<\/I><\/B> were studding the catalog and I saw Texasace<\/I><\/B> give me a wink as he walked by looking smug.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Louiethelu<\/I><\/B> had 5Alive<\/I><\/B> watching Tvg<\/I><\/B> and insisting he had dropped the real Pick6<\/I><\/B> off at the OTB before coming here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Goatracker<\/I><\/B> dropped by with Desertdog<\/I><\/B> and Woof<\/I><\/B> right on his heels and I could hear my friend Screech<\/I><\/B> coming from a mile away.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>All the Bears<\/I><\/B> were around, busy as Bees<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The chief Bear must have some kind of an awesome program over there in <\/SPAN>Chino<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> as I never saw so much wheeling, dealing, transferring, moving and what not as goes on among that clan.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don’t know how he keeps track of everything.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I put two horses in the auction and totally forgot to check on how well they sold until I saw all that money in my account – thank you Topicount<\/I><\/B> and <\/SPAN>Troy<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Kindone<\/I><\/B> came by and brought Hook<\/I><\/B> and Fiesta06<\/I><\/B> and it is always fun to see Bung<\/I><\/B> and <\/SPAN>Kendall<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B><\/st1:place>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I can’t name all the people who came by and sat down for a quick visit because I am old and forgetful which is the only good thing about being old as no one can prove otherwise.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Well, when all was said and done the auction was a big success this week and here are the ones that were really a success. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>\u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>\u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Millionaires:<\/SPAN><\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There are an awful lot of horses changing barns via the auction every week and while most stable transfers work – there is always someone out there with more money than you.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>So if you can’t think ahead and move these horses as unraced horses into the stable of choice, beware, because there are a lot of sharks trolling the water.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Hip number 145975, Rockiavellian<\/B> leads the way this week.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A grand looking, 4 YO chestnut colt by Rock Of Gibraltar was led into the ring by Globalism<\/I><\/B> and after spirited bidding was led out by Fatattack2<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Rockiavellian<\/B> is a stakes winner and six of his last eight winners produced triple digit speed figures.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Very lightly raced for his age, he has won six of his 11 races and was a wire to wire winner last time out in The Holy Quibble.<\/I>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I am pretty sure this was a hostile takeover by one party of a planned stable transfer by another.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I could be wrong but unless it was a mistake, I can’t imagine putting a nice colt like this in the auction unless they had some really special 2 YOs or had a gambling problem.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Devils In The Mist<\/SPAN><\/B>, hip # 149761, is a smallish colt by Awesome Again.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The well made 4 YO is another that has his whole future ahead of him with only seven starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Consigned by Arse2007<\/I><\/B> he brought down the hammer for $4,445,015.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although he has only won one race, he has been in the money four of his seven starts and that was good enough for Mardigras<\/I><\/B> who signed the ticket.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Flyingfinn<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> sold an older horse for $3,200,001.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>PJ Lord Nelson<\/B>, #79380, is a 7 YO dark bay or brown horse by <\/SPAN>Johannesburg<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and he still has what it takes as he has won three of his last four including The Little TC<\/I> two back.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has, in fact, won 15 of his 44 races and will hopefully perform just as well for his new stable, Plunk5<\/I><\/B>.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Memphis Mafia<\/SPAN><\/B> # 148084 is a 4 YO chestnut colt by Tale Of The Cat.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has won one of four races with increasing speed figures and although he has a low claim tag of $20,000 it will be a nice starter tag for new owner Paceman2<\/I><\/B> if he decides to go that route.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Texasace08<\/I><\/B> sold this one for $2,800,001.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The last of our top five, non stable transfers, is Savage Love<\/B> #127158.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A well built 3 YO copper chestnut colt by Alwuhush, he is still a maiden but has finished in the money in two of his five starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He might have some potential as he ran very greenly in his first few and new owner Buzz<\/I><\/B> is certainly hoping that that will prove true.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Yavapai<\/I><\/B> sold this nice colt.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Stc:<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Stc trainers were holding on to their money this week and only bought 11 horses.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The average sale price for this group was $842.27 and the total for the 11 was a paltry $9,265.00. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Invasorstc<\/I><\/B> paid the most for one this week taking Waki Mountain<\/B> BG<\/B>, a 3 YO chestnut filly for $4,999.00.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She comes with lots of conditions and options.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A daughter of Mountain Cat she has won two of 13 starts and was sold by Fes977<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mrstc<\/I><\/B> was the leading buyer and spent $1,003.00 for three.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
