Weather conditions are questionable, with rain or an outside chance of snow predicted. We will handicap this with the expectation of a good track for this 8.5F contest.

1 Billdanziggold 15-1 Horse is outside of its element. Has run in 12 stakes races and has never finished in top 3. Also has a poor record (2 wins\/15 races) in routes. Odds are much too generous. Give a pass.

2. Atlantis King 5-1 The track is looking to be rather poor for this race, and that suits Atlanttis fine. The distance also is ideal for this horse who is coming off an impressive 2nd place finish in the What Under Gene Handicap with a speed of 113 at this distance.

3. Death Cab 15-1 Last 5 outings have been awful, all run at the allowance level, not finishing any better than 7th. Additionally, Death Cab is being asked to run an extended distance. The Cab dies here.

4. Awesome Sky 11-1 Awesome is not the word for his record on off tracks (a second as a maiden, zilch in 5 others). Awesome does like to attack from the rear, but I feel the track conditions will effect his stride in this one.

5. Cornfield County 5-1 Cornfield has been inconsistant. This greyling will eiher put in a great race, with a speed over 100, or be disappointing. If Cornfield is ready to run, he’ll be firing up at the midway point.

6. Skybult 9-1 This Gulch-based horse is coming off an impressive win, closing from 8th at 3\/4 pole to win in speed of 106. The concern…it was against a non-winner allowance group. Big class jump to overcome. Is Skybult ready??

7. Mr. Mistoffelees 8-1 Coming off 3 good races in sprints. Extends to 8.5F for this one, and likes the short routes (9 of 12 on board). Mistoffelees will most likely run out front, as this field is loaded with late closers. Has not run a speed over 100 in the route which will be his undoing here. I dont see the early speed lasting all the way on this sluggish track.

8. War Gild 22-1 Going into stakes for first time. War has shown some class lately, but the speed ratings falter when compared to other choices. Pass on this one.

9. Sisson’s Gulch 8-1 This young colt is going places. On board 7 of 8 in short routes. Loves to fly from the rear, winning last 2 and placing in the two races before. Last race speed was an impressive 110 at 8f. Faces stakes competition for first time, but I dont see that being a problem for this improving Gulch horse.

10. Top Notch Here 10-1 Here’s another one that likes to close late. Made nice move to finish 5th in last, missing by 1.5 lengths after trailing by 10 at the 3\/4 pole. This colt prefers sprints, but may factor in for a small piece of the pie.

11. Hawkfly’s Pharbat 5-2 Picks up Lawton who has had an unbelievable start to 2008, being in the money 66% of his races. Hawkfly is nothing short of impressive. Looking to extend win streak to 3 at this distance. Alreay has racked up 10 victorys in 28 trys in routes. Last 7 races all exceeded 100 in speed. The one to beat.

Hawkfly’s Pharbat has too much to offer and is our top choice. Sisson’s Gulch should make some people believers and is my second choice. Atlantis King is consistant in routes and loves the off track making him my 3rd pick.
<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Hawkeye Pharbat ready to go in Sisters Pelikar Stakes<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":363,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5378","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5378","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/363"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=5378"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5378\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=5378"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=5378"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=5378"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
