Hiatus<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer is about to get busy for me, so the juvenile division update will be off for a couple weeks after this posting. I will be back August 31st to update the division after those big races the weekend of the 30th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fleetwood Chat <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to touch base with Fleetwood after he won both the Equinics and G3 Trixy last weekend. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this and congrats again on the exciting weekend! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Graded Juvenile winners on the same day. What an accomplishment! Does that rank up there with your best memories in the sim?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For sure the best day I have had with stake horses in my time in the game, which has been since nearly the beginning. I did lead the sim in wins with my elitequine stable in 2012, likely my best moment other than last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your plans\/goals for your two big winners?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am torn with Fleetwood Flatline<\/a>, I know I need to try a mile with him but I am not sure he is built for it, I have entered him going a mile next but might opt for the 7F – G2 a week later. Fleetwood Cole<\/a> who I have entered in a G1 in 6 weeks then hopefully he will have enough points for the Breeders Bowl after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any other two year olds you are excited about this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think its a turning point in the year for 2 yr olds as we start carding 2 turn races, so I have a few that are well bred but weren\u2019t very good sprinting that I have kept on the farm with the hopes they will take to the route (Fleetwood Titleist<\/a> – Fleetwood Alex J<\/a> & Fleetwood Jr Boi<\/a>). Other then those wildcards I like Fleetwood Sassy<\/a> as one that might take the next step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You sent Fleetwood Flatline to the farm between races. Is that your philosophy with 2 year olds? Lots of rest?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have over raced my young ones in the past and think they seldom produce the best results for long if you race them every 3-4 weeks like the claimers or older horses. So I am trying to have patience and it seems to be working….at least for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have a favorite sire\/line or surface you prefer breeding to? Tips?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always try for dirt horses and generally route pedigree on the expensive ones with the dream of racing in the triple crown!!! Street Sense I have had good luck with and I like UNFUWAIN as a discount DS or DDS option as he crosses well with many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G2 Closest Friends – August 9, 2010 :<\/strong> Hashtag Dreaming, the 7th place finisher in the Bashford and 12-1 shot, roared down the stretch late to get up for a 1\/2 length victory. Rotok, who stuck his head in front at the top of the stretch, held on for second. Hurricane Legend, moving late as well, finished third in his first graded stakes appearance. Prank the Pilot, a third place finisher in the Montana Futurity, finished a disappointing tenth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) City of Juba<\/strong><\/a> : Heading to do battle against the big boys in the G1 Hopeless (7F).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) Going to The Insid<\/strong><\/a> : Heading to the G1 Dell Computer Futurity (7F), the same day as the Hopeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) Commonwealth Ready<\/strong><\/a> : Heading to the G1 North Fork (8.5F) in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7) Find The Code<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>: Coming 2nd in a loaded field introduces you to the top 10 list. Also winner of the American Pharoah. Plans not yet announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
