Auction Starts The New Year With A Bang<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

Auction 3455<\/SPAN><\/B> – This week will probably be typical of the next month or so as people start taking a hard look at their stables.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With new 2 YO’s ready to arrive from the farms, space has to be freed up and those horses that are not good enough to retire or breed will find themselves in the auction.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>While most will restock Computer Farm’s horse pool, there will be many bargains to be found for those that look for them.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Almost eight hundred horses went through the ring this week and Computer Farms took home almost one fourth of them and I am sure that some of them were decent enough.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Too bad there isn’t an easy way to search but then half the fun is in the looking\u00a0 <\/SPAN>For anyone looking to make some money and it will only work for awhile, breed yourself a 2 YO and run it through the ring unraced.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It is amazing what an unraced 2 YO will bring.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Bad weather seems to follow me and once again I was grateful to Genebaum<\/I><\/B> for donating his fireplace and even more grateful that my reserved table was right in front of it.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although there were a lot of horses being sold, there didn’t seem to be as many people buying.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I guess most were still paying off those holiday debts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I really wanted to catch up with Flstables<\/I><\/B> but he was so busy selling off most of his stock that he had no time to visit.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It’s been a long time since I saw him in Brugge and he showed me the best time.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>What a beautiful city!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I am sure that because of the fun I had there, it became my favorite town in Europe.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another that was dispersing of his horses was Quinella<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another person I met at Socalslew’s<\/I><\/B> shindig at <\/SPAN>Del<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> Mar one summer was also selling horses.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Whirlaway<\/I><\/B> (Kara) and I had a grand time with many of the Sim members the weekend of the Pacific Classic, including putting a spoon on our noses at Denny’s one morning for prizes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Oh to be young again!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Whoswho<\/I><\/B> was busy as was Harpie<\/I><\/B> who came by with Warpig<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Gotta love that name – I keep looking for Spiderpig, spiderpig – doing whatever spiderpig’s do.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>Ireland<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and <\/SPAN>Minnesota<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> under various stable names were selling and Coldeye, Slowhand<\/I><\/B> and Heartz<\/I><\/B> all stopped by for a minute.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Super’s<\/I><\/B> were also selling – probably to make room for their extensive breeding program and the Bear<\/I><\/B> clan was wheeling and dealing way to fast for this old head to keep up with.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Scotsgrey<\/I><\/B> was in a hurry but I had to tell him what a lovely horse he has and Shelmo<\/I><\/B> (what’s happened to Marky<\/I><\/B>?) and Gonzo<\/I><\/B> were busy.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Lionhound<\/I><\/B> was looking to fill up his stable and 2somebozo<\/I><\/B> along with Im3xwiser<\/I><\/B> brought over some hot chocolate.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mravenger<\/I><\/B> was sitting in the corner under the American flag, being his usual crusty old self but he is such a treat you just gotta love him no matter how hard he tries to appear mean and unlikable.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Texasace<\/I><\/B> only had Random Thief<\/B> back in the auction, and I guess he’ll be back next week since he didn’t sell.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think the other one was finally fit enough from all the traveling back and forth to run.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>No wonder he is such a top trainer – he thinks outside the box!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I mean who else would use traveling to and from the auction to get their horse ready to run\u2026..\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Ok, enough of the drivel – \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Millionaires;<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

Seven horses sold for a million dollars or more this week.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don’t think any were stable transfers although one went from the group Super<\/I><\/B> to one of the Super<\/I><\/B> members – if that counts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Here’s a look at the top five.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The top selling horse of the week was <\/SPAN>Sahara Avenue<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:address><\/st1:Street>, #84195.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Sold by Sdmf3<\/I><\/B>, the 5 YO big bay horse has won six of 28 starts but can’t seem to make the jump from allowance to stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He can hit three digit numbers but his best stakes placing was a fourth last June.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Bunnyluv<\/I><\/B> thinks they can turn that around and placed the final bid of $4 million.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

My dear friend Flstables<\/I><\/B> seems to be having a dispersal sale and I am hoping he is not leaving us forever.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He consigned Segolene<\/B>, #57016, from his Sunairfarm<\/I><\/B> and the lovely dark bay 3YO filly brought $2.5 million from Pointblank<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>By Awesome Again out of an AP Indy mare she might have been a steal for that price.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She’s a maiden but after running fast closing seconds in her first two races she broke down in her third start.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With three months off she came back on an off track and ran credibly.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She’s never run a mile, never run on grass and with only four starts may be one to watch.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Devil Wears Prado<\/SPAN><\/B>, #124508, sold more or less in house.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 4YO roan colt by El Prado went from Super6<\/I><\/B> to Texasace06<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Cleverly named, he has only won one race but is 6\/14 in the money.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It’s also been a year since this he has won but I doubt that these guys care.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

We go from the devil to Believe In Faith<\/B>, #122652 who fetched $1.5 million from Nudiebar22<\/I><\/B> who with that name, just might need it\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 4 YO chestnut colt by Redoubt’s Choice was making his second appearance in the auction ring.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The five time winner was sent through last August after a dismal performance in a Grade I.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He collected a check in every start for seller Zewango<\/I><\/B> and Nudiebar<\/I><\/B> hopes that he will continue to do so.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Killer Clown<\/SPAN><\/B>, #91592, rounds out the top five.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is an unraced 3 YO bay filly by Pleasant Tap out of a Cryptoclearance mare.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Korn<\/I><\/B> was the consignor of this nice looking filly and Kaule<\/I><\/B> signed the ticket to take her home.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Also bringing top dollar prices were #132631, Empire Woman<\/B> who sold for $1,200,008 and went from Sherwood<\/I><\/B> to Grimmie<\/I><\/B> and #98688 Wonderboy Erase<\/B> who went from Gipper7<\/I><\/B> to Bad <\/I><\/B>for $1 million even.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Stc Auction<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

The Stc trainers were not very active this week buying only 11 horses.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>They spent a total of $9,286.00 for their purchases for an average selling price of $221.10.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Paying the most was Stcfabman<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He paid $2,502 for Remember November<\/B>, a 4 YO colt and followed that up with a $2,003 purchase in BT’s New Recruit<\/B>, another 4 YO.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Stcsargent<\/I><\/B> was the leading buyer among the Stc trainers, taking three for a total of $502.00.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
