This 114th divisional ranked mare races for the Great Plains residency division of The Kaif stables. This mare was unraced as a 2 year old and won her turf debut after a pair of dirt races to start her career. She won 5 races last year including 1 stake race in The Rose Yard Bonanza in North Dakota where she posted her lifetime best 109 speed rating over the 8.5 furlong turf race. She stretched out to 2 miles last time out but returns to her more favored distance in today’s race. This speedster likes to get out of the gate quickly and will be one of those trying to set the early fractions here today. The rider for today’s race will be Alexander (8.5%).\u00a0 PROJECTED SPEED RATING—102.<\/STRONG> <\/P> 2)RED ROYAL—9\/2—<\/STRONG>romeshome sends this 5 year old mare out of ROYAL ACADEMY with a record of 20-5-6-1 and lifetime earnings of $508,584. She is out of the mare IGNITION who was 7\/22 at the track and who has 3 foals on record, all winners including 1 Graded stakes winner. This 20th divisional ranked mare races out of the Willyam13 stables based at the GR Simsters. This mare won her only 2 year old start and made it a triple by winning the first 2 starts of her 3 year old season. But, it would be 10 races before she would pick up her next win which came last year. She won back to back races in the spring of 2007, both stake races hilited by The Grade III Queenston Handicap at Epsom. She posted her lifetime best speed rating later last year while finishing 2nd in The Grade I Princess Di Cap in New York where she posted a 112 rating over the 9 furlong turf race. She is another front runner and it should be a quick cavalry charge to the first quarter pole with all the speed in this race today. This mare was unraced as a 2 year old and broker her maiden on the dirt in her 2nd lifetime start but was switched to the turf in her 4th career start. She won 10 races last year including 7 stakes hilited by The Grade I Cedora D Stakes, The Grade I Princess Di Cap where she posted her lifetime best 115 speed rating over 9 furlongs on the turf, and The Grade II Milky Way Cap. While she did win wire to wire last time out she usually runs a stalking style of race and with the hot pace expected here today will probably sit back behind the frontrunners and then make her move around the far turn.
