PROSPECTOR) This colt is trained by Mayflowers who has done a good job with this colt so far. This little man has 7 starts with three wins including a win in the G2 Big Hill stakes going 7 furlongs with a 91 speed. Not bad. His next start, which is also his lto was a 7.5 upgraded stakes where he finished 2nd after leading the whole race with a 92 speed. This colt has the speed but he has never run at the 6 furlong distance. 7 looks to be his preferred distance and 5.5 too short. So he has a very good chance here. Jockey C Culpepper (8.5%) wont hurt the colts chances.

2) BELONG TO WHO (KY) -7/1- (BELONG TO ME X CRAFTY PROSPECTOR X SADLER’S WELLS) This successful colt is trained by Dundey4. This colt has 8 wins from 9 lifetime starts. Not bad, with 6 at stakes level both on turf and dirt. A G2 dirt sprint win in the High Rollers Juvenile. His only attempt at a mile he failed. Back to sprints to clean up, clearing most races with a length or more wins. His last dirt start was in a stake at 6 furlongs where he posted a 99 speed! This colt has the talent, likes the distance, this is the horse that is the one to beat. V Elliot (18.2%) Gives this colt a big boost. Watch out, this horse is dangerous!

3) DEPUTE (JPN) – 25/1- (FRENCH DEPUTY X CRAFTY PROSPECTOR X ON THE SLY) Trained by Swhisper who also has a filly in the Txmsslew Handicap this week. This colt is relatively inexperienced with only 2 starts. Though he is a winner of both starts a maiden and a 7.5 furlong dirt stakes race. In that race he posted an 86 speed proving his first win to not be a fluke. I worry that only 2 races may not be sufficient to face the company in this race. S O’Brien again I cannot see his stats which make me think he is a new jockey. This will not help the colt in his third start.

4) HELLBILLY (KY) -12/1- (STORM BOOT X SAUCE BOAT X NIJINSKY’S SECRET) Trainer Quikvett2 sends this colt to face the field. 9 races with no graded placing; his only graded attempt is his worst finish ever. He placed 12th out of 14 although keep in mind he was 12th by 4 lengths. His best race was last time out in a 6.5 dirt stakes where he placed 2nd beaten by a length and a half with a 93 speed. Looks like 6 furlongs might be his distance. He has won 2 of 3 at 6 furlongs both wins stakes. C V Bher (10.1) I don’t think he will do very well here he has only broken an 80 speed figure 3 times and randomly throughout his career. He did it last time out so I don’t think he will improve off of his last start.

5) FOXY MESA (KY) – 5/1 – (SKY MESA X FORTY NINER X SEATTLE SLEW) This beautifully bred colt is sent to the post by Docpmg. Only 4 races to his name this little colt has talent no doubt. He has 2 stakes wins which includes his 98 speed figure last time out at 6.5 furlongs on dirt. His only loss came in a dirt 6 furlong stakes. It makes me a little concerned. But with only 4 starts it is hard to tell if he doesn’t like the distance or he his inexperience just got the better of him. Breeding suggest both surfaces and sprints. Looks to be competitive speed wise. R Tarter (9.5%) will be aboard, I don’t think that will hurt or help this horse.

6) MAGICAL DANZ(IRE) – 12/1- (KALANISI (IRE) X DANZIG X WOODMAN) this grey colt is sent to post by Magicflute. This horse was done right, the trainer took him slowly through allowance ranks then stakes and graded where he has proven decent. He has a G3 win over in the Autumn Run stakes with a 90 speed. With obscure breeding this trainer has prepared him slowly though he has never run at 6 furlongs I think it is with in his range of acceptance. He has run at 7 furlongs where he placed second by a nose. I think he is in to far here, this race holds some very talented animals. I think he’s competitive in stakes but all graded starts have been 5.5 furlongs or less, which is not where the talented animals have been running. N Prescott (10.6%) may help this colt some but I fear it will not be enough to get a check.

7) ALYSLEW III BG(KSA) – 6/1- (ALYSHEBA X MISWAKI X SEATTLE SLEW) This colt is trained byBobg11. This talented colt has been on the board in all 9 of his starts. He has 3 seconds in stakes races and 1 win. This colt seems to like a bit shorter than 6 furlongs. He keeps getting nosed out for the win at 6 furlongs but it is also where he has shown his speed. He posted a 97 speed figure when he placed second by a length and a half in the 6 furlongs stakes a race back. I think the competition is too tough for this colt. R Clink (9.7%) will not play a factor in this horse finishing the race.

8) TRACEABLE(VA) – 41/1 – (STAR TRACE X STRAIGHT MAN X FORMAL GOLD) This colt is trained by Graywolf7. With 11 starts this is the most experienced horse in the field. Though all that expirence has not seemed to help is speeds with only one speed over 80, an 81 which came in a 6 frulong allowance back in august. He has been unable to repeat that since. This horse has no business in a graded race. Which is shown by the fact he has never hit the board in a stakes race, and with only 24k in winnings I am shocked he even got in. S Vincent (7.8%) will only add to the defeat of this poor horse. Take him back to allowances and keep him there.

9) OIL BASED DYNAMITE(KY) – 21/1- (SUCCESSFUL APPEAL X THEATRICAL(IRE) X HAWAII) This colt is sent to the post by Lordpye3. This horse is hot cold, he posts a speed in the 80’s or 60’s. His favorite distance is 6-7 furlongs on dirt and he appears to do ok in stakes races. However, he has no business being in a graded race. He has not won a stakes race and has only won 1 race since June on an off track last time out. Maybe try turf to see if it zips him back since he likes an off track. C Thornton (7.2%) will not help and probably will hurt his chances here. Sorry but put him back in restricted allowances. He does not have the speed or ability to be here.

10) WILD TO THE TOUCH(KY) -7/1- (TOUCH GOLD X WILD AGAIN X UNBRIDLED) this colt is trained by Fortywalt. I like this colts breeding and it seems to shine through. This little colt has run in 4 graded races winning only the G3 Little Tree Stakes at 6 furlongs. His best speed came last time out in a 6.5 furlong dirt stakes where he posted a 90. Not a bad colt. He could surprise, he is one that could improve and pull a big race. But there is a lot of talent here and I think he will get beat. But don’t knock him yet he has talent give him more time before you throw him in the shark tank. He is almost there. V Cline (7.1%) will not help him win, but probably wont drag him down much.

11) BARB’S FRENCHY(JPN) -28/1- (FRENCH DEPUTY X CRUSADER SWORD X ALYDAR) Another colt getting in on his good looks. This colt is trained by Mattbarn. He does seem to want 6 furlongs. He showed this in the G3 Autumn Run stakes where he finished 4th and closing. Best speed is a 86 which won’t be competitive here. I like this colts breeding just give him some more time. He has been sleeping for a few months so we can hope he will be good off a lay off, but may need a few starts to get back in to things. K Eckloff (8.9%) will not hurt or help his chances any. Don’t count him out, it has been almost 3 months since he last raced and he should like the distance. He could be the horse no one thinks has a chance and gets up there. But I think more likely he will be shaking off the dust.

12) SWIFTSURE(KY) – 8/1- (DEHERE X FORTY NINER X DANZIG) This colt is sent to the post by Sanchez. With 6 starts under his belt this little man has won 4 and placed in 2 making him never worse than second. His last start was a 2nd place in the G2 Big Hill stakes where he ran a 90 speed over 7 furlongs. It looked to be too much distance as he was slowly losing ground at the end. Though only finishing second by ¾ a length. This game colt will appreciate the step back to 6 furlongs and is looking to repeat the G1 6 furlong World Cup Juvenile win 2 starts back. He will need to jump up in speeds but I am sure this game colt will give the race his all. C Gerhke (15.1%) Will help this horse cross the finish line, I think with in the top 5.

13) SHERIDAN(KY) -7/1- (SPEIGHTSTOWN X DIXIE UNION X TALE OF THE CAT) This COlt is sent to the post by Winstar. With 8 Starts 7 of them being in stakes this consistent colt has proven worthy. His best start came in an 8.5 dirt stake race where he posted a 92 speed. But he has been running routes for the last three starts. He has proven he either needs a drop in competition or a drop in distance. I honestly don’t think he will like 6 furlongs. He always looked like he needed more distance in the sprint races. Nice colt, I don’t think he will do much here unless he speeds up some. Which his improved speed at distance seems to contradict. Also has not won a race since July. T Dillin (8.2%) will probably do neither harm nor good for this colt.

14) GONE FOR ROYAL(KY) – 12/1- (GONE WEST X STORM CAT X ROYAL SKI) This beautifuly bred colt is trained by Jetstar. Though the breeding suggest that he will be amazing this colt has been ok. Winning 3 races in a row including the G3 Midsoil Stakes. Though his top speed is only an 88. He may need to give more to get on the board here. His one turf start shows some talent there as well. He may show a nice speed having just ran on turf. But more likely I think he will finish mid pack and be ready for a few stakes on turf despite some nice graded placing and a win on dirt. T Waters (10.3%) will hopefully give him a boost but probably wont.

My guess is that BELONG TO WHO (KY), INDY PROSPECTOR (FL), FOXY MESA (KY) will finish in the top three. I like Belong to win but Indy and Foxy may battle it down to see who gets second.

[2

post-5232","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
