Although titled \u201cThe Little Momma Debutante<\/B>\u201d, I am sure that all the trainers with entries in this Grade III Stakes race are light-years away from viewing their 2yo fillies as broodmares.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The temperature will be warm enough this weekend in Portugal<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> to warrant a fast dirt track, something that all trainers are happy to see, since none of the entries have tried an off-track yet.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP1 \u2013 6\/1) Deb\u2019s Empire<\/B>, of the Elprofit1<\/B> stable, is a big question mark in this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This Empire Maker X Shareef Dancer X Slew City Slew filly has only 2 races to-date, both at 6 furlongs and both in MSW company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>So, what not to like?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don\u2019t think the jump from MSW to stakes company while changing distances is in her favor.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I also don\u2019t like the fact that she won her 2nd<\/SUP> try at the same distance in MSW company while taking a huge step down.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is a huge step up at a different distance against horses that have shown they can handle stakes company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>What do I like about Deb\u2019s Empire<\/B>?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I like the fact that she has shown a small improvement in her SP #s so far.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Unless she proves, like others have to in this race, that she can handle the distance and the company, she will have a tough race.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP2 \u2013 8\/1) Marmaria<\/B>, of the Fernando2<\/B> stable, is an interesting choice in this race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although she is very lightly raced (only 2 races), and has yet to try stakes company this seems to be her distance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This Bahri X War Chant X Shirley Heights(GB) filly, clearly showed in her debut that she was not a sprinter on the turf.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>So what does a good trainer do?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Fernando2<\/B> showed the way when he switched her to dirt and stretched her out 2 furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Marmaria<\/B> improved by 21 in her SP #.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If she shows an improvement over her 2nd<\/SUP> try at this distance and shows that she can handle tougher company than MSW, she should challenge in this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Good placement by Fernando2<\/B>.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP3 \u2013 9\/5) Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> of the Sprinter<\/B> stable, is the other experienced filly in this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In her 5 races to-date, Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> has never finished worse than 5th<\/SUP>, and she has been running in some big fields.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>After her 2nd<\/SUP> place finish in her debut, missing the winner\u2019s circle by a head, she came out with a vengeance in her 2nd<\/SUP> race going to the front from the start and wiring the field, while firing an 82 SP #.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although she finished only a 3rd<\/SUP> in her first try at stakes company, this Victory Moon(SAF) X Giant\u2019s Causeway(IRE) X Kingmambo filly was only \u00be of a length back of the winner.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although she won her next try at stakes company, the thing that stands out to me was her last out where she finished 5th<\/SUP> in a full field of Grade I fillies, firing off an 83 SP #.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She may not be the ever improving filly that Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B> clearly is, but Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> is stepping down in company and looks to be very consistent in her races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Look for the field to be chasing this go-to-the-front filly as they come into the final turn.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP4 \u2013 7\/1) Momma Used To Say<\/B>, of the Willyam38<\/B> stable, is another filly making the jump from MSW to stakes company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although she has only one race under her belt, this Action This Day X Personal Hope X His Majesty filly won with authority in her debut, firing off an 80 SP #, winning by 3 \u00bd lengths.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Some may say she was not really tested in that six horse field, but this race is only \u00bd length further than her debut, so this is a distance she seems to like.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Momma Used To Say<\/B> is a front running filly so look for her to be up there with Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> coming out of the gate.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/P>

(PP5 \u2013 7\/2) Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B>, one of the most experienced fillies in the race, of the Socko<\/B> stable has been the most successful filly to hit the track in this race. Out of 5 races, this Giant\u2019s Causeway<\/st1:place>(IRE) X Kingmambo X Red Ransom homebred has been in the winner\u2019s circle twice and finished third twice.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The only race she didn\u2019t hit the board was a turf race in her debut, where she showed she could do without all that green stuff under her feet.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Although she is currently ranked # 26 in the Dirt Sprint category, Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B> is clearly a filly that loves to run longer than your classic sprint.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Since her turf \u2018experiment\u2019, Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B> has been a steadily improving filly, displaying a steady climb in her SP#s from 71 to 85, all while facing tougher competition.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>And this tougher competition seems to fall by the wayside, as she showed in her last time out in a Grade III going 7.5F winning by 3 \u00bc lengths.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Little Momma Debutante<\/B> is her race to lose, but I can\u2019t wait to see how she fares going a longer distance in future races.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP6 \u2013 6\/1) Eagle Wolf<\/B>, of the Graywolf17<\/B> stable, could break some hearts in this one if some things fall into place for her.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has the best SP # to-date behind Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B>, but rather than steadily improving, Eagle Wolf<\/B> is going the other direction.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has taken two steps back in her SP #s since her first time out, falling from an 84 to her last race of 71.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her first time out was at 6 \u00bd furlongs, as was her last race where she took on Grade I company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was clearly overmatched in the Grade I field, so she steps down to Grade III company today.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think in order for her to do better than a 3rd<\/SUP> she must like the distance, be able to come off the pace better than Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B>, and not let Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> get to far out in front.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

(PP7 \u2013 5\/1) Indian Whiskey<\/B>, of the Quietgrind<\/B> stable, will have to like the longer distance to win this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This Indian Charlie X Cure The Blues X Hail To Reason filly broke out of the gate with a dominance in her first race firing off a 73 SP # to win by 1 \u00bd lengths.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She continued that success in her first stakes race coming off the pace to win by 1 \u00bc lengths.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Since her first two races, however, Indian Whiskey<\/B> has not enjoyed the same success.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has been stretching out from 5 \u00bd furlongs in her debut to 6 \u00bd furlongs in her last two races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I am not sure whether the added distance over 6 furlongs has affected her or whether she has just been facing tougher fields.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It could be either one, since her SP # are all very consistent.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is stepping down from her Grade II race last time out, but I think she will need to show us that she likes the distance to finish better than 3rd<\/SUP> in this one.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

I look for Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> and Momma Used To Say<\/B> to set the pace in this one while trying to hold off the rest of the field going into the final turn and coming down the stretch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don\u2019t think there is truly a proven stakes horse in this field other than Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B>, who will be flying around the final turn and down the stretch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think Crimson Express(IRE)<\/B> will be taking pictures in the winner\u2019s circle with Moon Queen(SAF)<\/B> and Marmaria<\/B> battling for 2nd<\/SUP> and 3rd<\/SUP>.<\/P>
