Im here to cover the premier race on Saturdays card, The HARDLY WITH MARC Special Stakes, to be run over a mile on the firm turf for all 2 yo`s for a prize fund of $90000. A field of 8 are assembled and we should have an exciting race in what may be an unpredictable heat. He landed the odds in a weak looking stakes race over 7.5 furlongs in South Africa bu an easy 4 1/2 lengths but his speed figure of 75 was a little off his best achieved when finishing runner up in a nw2l allowance in New South Wales over 7 furlongs in July. He needs a lot more than what he has shown so far to win this, and as he doesn`t look progressive it may be an uphill struggle for him here.

2) DRIFTERS GAZE lenny18 6121 R Williams 7/1

2 yo Colt

Mizzen Mast x Woodman x Raise a Native

4 runs 2 wins 1 second $44920

Owned and trained by an astute horseman, anything running out of the Lenny stables must be respected. A poor debut run was put down to the horse being miserable with his box back home. His box was overlooked by a wall that cast a constant shadow. Now it seems that being bathed in darkness had driven Drifters into a depressed state, and despite showing up well on the gallops at home put in a miserable effort first time up. Whilst many of us mere mortals would have missed the signs of depression in the horse, master trainer Lenny spotted the signs and set about mending this, sending Drifters to another part of the yard and a lovely new box that caught the sun right throughout the afternoon. Now he has a happy horse that has won 2 and finished 2nd in his last 3 races. He has a bit to find on times, but he should improve. If happiness conquers all then this one should win.

3) KING OF INDY roberto 315322 M Day 5/2 jf

2 yo Colt

King of Kings x A.P. Settled in behind early, he stayed on all the way up the straight but just ran out of ground going down to a classy looking rival by 3/4 of a length. He had some nice horses behind him that day and his speed figure of 86 was a repeat of his race prior to that in a stakes race in Ostend where over 7.5 furlongs he did almost the exact same, settling off the pace before staying on all the way to the line and once again just running out of ground. This trip should be ideal for him and its going to take one of his rivals to show improvement to stop him winning this.

4) CARDIGAN scout3 0221 W D Bubba 6/1

2 yo colt

Lonro x Affirmed x Easy Goer

4 runs 1 win 2 seconds $19635

Takes a massive class hike after he looked to finally get his act together when trying a mile for the first time in a small MSW in North Dakota. He settled a long way down the field, out with the back markers before producing a storming run up the home straight to win by 1 1/4 lengths and a lifetime best speed figure of 83. Thats was a decent performance, but he needs a little more here plus its never easy stepping out of maidens into stakes class right away. He will probably stay further in time.

5) PERSONAL FAVORITE crowblack 221 D Rideout 10/1

2 yo Colt

Redoubtable x Tayasu Tsuyoshi x Random Chance

3 runs 1 win 2 seconds $21560

Really difficult one to weigh up. Not bred with lines I am too familiar with (especially the Japanese DS) this one has been really progressive on the track, and after 2 efforts over 6 furlongs (runner up both times) his trainer tried him over 7.5 lto in a MSW in Hong Kong. He ran his best race to date and came away with the win and a speed figure of 80. Up another half furlong here, he needs to improve but he has managed that in his races so far so 10/1 may represent some value.

6) NUNAVUT canismajor 025313 B Webb 10/1

2 yo Colt

Orientate x Forest Wildcat x Sadler`s Wells

6 runs 1 win 1 second 2 thirds $31491

Looks an uphill struggle for this one despite him putting up his best effort to date last time out, when he ran 3rd in a mile stakes in Jamaica, running on to go down by 2 3/4 lengths. He recorded a speed of 79, which leaves him with it all to do here. He may continue on his path of improvement but I doubt if he will be taking home the winners cheque here today.

8) BOOM GATE thegeneral 113012 P Harzhiem 5/2 jf

2 yo Colt

Rainbow Quest x Theatrical x Danehill

Best horse in the race with the fastest speed figure, set last time out over 6 furlongs in the World Cup when eating up the ground close home to go under by 1/2 a length with an 87, but he wont win this, Why?
