Hope springs eternal and it is always exciting to run them early in their career and see what kicks out. Let’s take a look:

#1 IDLEPIMPS(IRE)) trainer – 6Ward, ( 9/2), Jockey – N.Landrum (11%), Earnings – $34,220
A funny thing happened on the way to the top for this ORATORIO Colt…he never met a Stakes race that he liked. In his five career races, he has been in three Stakes including two Gradeds and performed quite badly for trainer 6Ward and the New Orleans Inc. Stables. Last time out at 8 ½ f, he finished 21 lengths back in the KNICK KNACK JUVY GI. Just the race before that he had a quick 78 SPF to easily win an allowance race but fell back badly in the Knick. He has Landrum in the saddle and his capable hands should get this colt under control. This will be his first race on the clay after a career of grass. He needs to show something here because he is far better than that last race.

#2 AD HOMINEM(KY) trainer – Ovidious, ( 9/5), Jockey – B.Schardein (22%), Earnings – $52,850
This FU PEG colt really seems to like the classic distances. His best two races of his seven were at a mile including a sizzling 82 SPF and the win last time out in a NW3L allowance with a short field. Trainer and stable owner Ovidious has high hopes that this colt has finally found his best distance and will show his stuff to this field. He has Schardein with his gaudy stats and twelve years of experience in the leather and that will certainly help as well. He could be the second Stakes winner of broodmare JUPITER DAWN who only ran four races but looks good in the breeding shed.

#3 DROGBA(KY) trainer – Johnny, ( 8/5), Jockey – M.Sheridan (18%), Earnings – $36,000
This pretty roan colt has only run four races, three of which were in the restricted BENELUX series but he has improved in a big hurry and has to put a big smile on the face of trainer Johnny. Running under the colors of the Bob Marley Stables from Belgium, he put up a big SPF number last time out with an 85 at a mile and ran going away against a field of sixteen. He has Sheridan in the irons and he has a nice percentage at this track and should be able to keep this colt as a stalker which really worked in his last outing. There are really only two races that you want to look at on this guys racing form as the others were on turf or an off track. He missed by a head and won easily. Could be tough to beat here.

#4 WIZARDS FIRST RULE(KY) trainer – AAAFarms, ( 9/5), Jockey – D.Coffey (8%), Earnings – $26,476
This chestnut colt by DYNAFORMER comes into the race sporting a two race win streak. This will be his first Stakes outing but he easily won his two dirt outings with solid SPFs. This is kind of the wild card in the race as only trainer AAAFarms really has an idea of what this colt can do. He runs under the colors of KingAb Stables and hasn’t run quite enough yet to show his stuff. He has Coffey holding the reins which is somewhat disappointing as are Coffey’s stats this year. He is the first offspring of broodmare RACE WITH THE MOON who had a nice solid career mostly over turf routes. I am not going to be surprised at all to see this colt jump up and surprise some folks but it is certainly hard to foretell with the info we’ve been given.

Morning Line = 3-2-4-1
Paz Picks = 3-4-2-1

We are still working with some unpredictable youngsters here but it should be quite a race. There is not one colt that is really dominant and any of these could jump up at any time and show their stuff. I have IDLEPIMPS running fourth but with this being his first race on the dirt, who really knows. I have AD HOMINEM in third on my card but I think he will definitely be in the mix at the end and could get in there under the wire. As I mentioned before, WIZARDS FIRST RULE could really be the wild card here with a couple of wins under his girth and limited experience. I have him second but he could prove a problem for DROGBA who should be able to squeak out a win here. It should be fun!

Good luck to all runners!

Email your comments to pazjazz.btb@gmail.comI love to hear from you!

[2

post-5042","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
