Three horses were entered into races this week and all three came back to the stables after the race so we escaped having one claimed this week.\u00a0 We’ll start with GREAT FAPP who is a four year old colt that was added to the stable back in June and made his first start for the stable after a decent layoff.\u00a0 He was placed in an allowance race, hoping the 103 speed what he ran in the race that he was claimed from would be good for the hike in class.\u00a0\u00a0 He was 9\/1 in a field of 11 going 6.5 furlongs on the turf.\u00a0 He got off to a slow start and ran near the back of the field in the early stages.\u00a0 He made a moderate late run in the stretch and finished fifth with a 99 speed.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m hoping for a better outcome in his second start after the layoff.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He won the claiming race that he was claimed out of by running on the lead the entire time.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m setting his jockey directions to 80 to see if he can find better positioning near the lead and hope we can get something better in the next start.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shipping costs took away any small BP’s that normally come with a 5th place finish and only one sire card flipping as a G<\/p>\n
HENNY YOUGMAN ran a nice 105 speed going a mile in his last start in the starter allowance group.\u00a0 This week he ran a slice shorter at 7 flanks and in a $17,500 claiming race as he was no longer eligible for the starter allowance level.\u00a0\u00a0 At 3\/1 he was the second betting choice in the 11 horse field. \u00a0 He found a mid-field spot to settle into and sat there for a good part of the first half of the race.\u00a0 Past the half, he became aggressive and made an effort to gain on the leaders.\u00a0 The move worked well as he took the lead in the stretch and was the victor by more than a length.\u00a0\u00a0 He’s been on the board in all four starts with the stable and this was his first win for us, and 11th overall.\u00a0\u00a0 The win came with 15 BP’s and a trio of sire cards, 2-G’s and 1-F.<\/p>\n
RESERVATION FOR ME has been with the stable since being claimed in May 2018.\u00a0 The 6 year old just made his 13th start for the stable running a long 10.5 furlongs and in a claiming race with a $25,000 tag.\u00a0 He race very flatly during the race and there is not much to write about as he was never a factor and finished fifth in the 8-horse field.\u00a0 The 9\/1 odds were never promising and I believe he’s been racing over his head.\u00a0 Time to dump him to lower claiming races.\u00a0\u00a0 Another one with zippo in the BP category due to shipping costs and another popular G-sire card.<\/p>\n
So we netted four G-cards and they get added to the four already on hand, allowing an upward exchange for 1-F card.\u00a0 So that card joins the one from last week and another earned this week to make three.\u00a0\u00a0 Cards now being held are 4-D, 3-F and 3-G.<\/p>\n
BP’s totaled a lowly 15 and bring the banked total to 1,794.<\/p>\n
Yup, we are in a slump.\u00a0 Just a few weeks ago every starter won.\u00a0 Now we leave the track shaking our head over the past two weeks.\u00a0\u00a0 Hopefully things will turn around next week with three horses gearing up to take to the track.<\/p>\n
