\nSInce we last reported on the September Elite Racing Club\u00a0 event,\u00a0 there have been some issues with the BTB publishing house.\u00a0 There seems to be a problem with some of the formatting tools we usually avail ourselves of to cover the races.\u00a0 So,\u00a0 to make things easier on the production staff,\u00a0 I’ll forego my usual formatting and keep to a strictly prose preview.\u00a0 Hopefully,\u00a0 we can return to the previews the club enjoys with their monthly stakes event in November.
\n.
\nA field of eleven club runners are entered to vie for the winner’s share of the $100,000 purse for the taking in October’s club event,\u00a0 the Bernardini.\u00a0 Contested at 9.5 furlongs (or about 1900 meters for those so inclined),\u00a0 three fillies will\u00a0 take on an octet of males over a likely fast dirt oval,\u00a0 as the local weather folks see clear skies through the weekend.\u00a0 The management at Gulfstream Park has been wonderful,\u00a0 arranging for every whim of the members with a smile and cheerful attitude.
\n.
\nWith just two more stakes events remaining through year-end,\u00a0 the bonus points left to be awarded will crown the 2019 victor. The jockeying for position to claim the club championship is in full swing.\u00a0 Summerset<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0 the 2017 champ,\u00a0 enters the formidable graded placed stakes winner,\u00a0 EL HURACAN,\u00a0 while defending champ Harrylan<\/strong><\/em> saddles stakes placed TAPIT’s STREET.\u00a0 Club co-founder Amir1605<\/strong><\/em> has the stakes winning BLACK KARNAMEL going to the post,\u00a0 and the crafty Dontbetonme<\/strong><\/em> barn is in the thick of things with stakes placed LOOKIN AT OX LV.\u00a0 Larrcamp<\/strong><\/em> retuns with the 2nd rated entry point runner in WILD SQUALL RIDE with Newfydowns<\/strong><\/em> hot on his heels saddling 4th rated HALLOW EVE EVE.\u00a0 Dunnvilledowns<\/strong><\/em> has a live runner,\u00a0 SHIPWRECK BAY,\u00a0 the senior entrant in the field,\u00a0 and Mightyforego<\/strong><\/em> returns and is loaded for bear with co-second choice THE GOOD WARRIOR.\u00a0 Jbcri09<\/strong><\/em> saddles a 15\/1 long shot this time around with ULTIMATE SHIELD;\u00a0 Jb3commish<\/strong><\/em> has VARSTONE looking for a surprise win,\u00a0 and Chino<\/strong><\/em> rounds out the field with 54\/1 shot KID SPECIAL.

\n1)\u00a0 TAPIT’S STREET is the co-second choice at 9\/2.\u00a0 He’s at his favorite distance,\u00a0 where four of his five wins occurred.\u00a0 Speedster looks like the one to catch from the hedge.
\n.
\n2)\u00a0 ULTIMATE SHIELD,\u00a0 our first filly,\u00a0 is a 15\/1 long shot.\u00a0 Deep closer can save ground with good trip,\u00a0 but needs to up her game to challenge the best ones here.
\n.
\n3)\u00a0 SHIPWRECK BAY is another deep closer,\u00a0 who may have bounced last out.\u00a0 Six year old held at 6\/1 odds,\u00a0 may have another top effort in him to get a minor share in tough field.
\n.
\n4)\u00a0 THE GOOD WARRIOR is the other 9\/2 second choice,\u00a0\u00a0 who may have disliked the off track in most recent try.\u00a0 Prior SP#’s compare favorably with the top ones in this heat;\u00a0 can do.
\n.
\n5)\u00a0 WILD SQUALL RIDE is in excellent form right now,\u00a0 getting 6\/1 odds from the handicapper.\u00a0 May prompt the pace,\u00a0 but in any event should be close early;\u00a0 could upset them all on best effort.
\n.
\n6)\u00a0 HALLOW EVE EVE is a 30\/1 outsider who may be involved in the early fractions,\u00a0 but looks to be a couple notches short of the big guns entered here.
\n.
\n7)\u00a0 LOOKIN AT OX LV\u00a0 is a 7\/1 chance off two strong recent outings since switching barns,\u00a0 stretches out here and could spring another surprise from new barn.
\n.
\n8)\u00a0 VARSTONE,\u00a0 our second filly,\u00a0 cuts back in distance off string of marathon events;\u00a0 still eligible for NW2x rated at 23\/1 odds by the oddsmaker;\u00a0 hard to recommend.
\n.
\n9)\u00a0 KID SPECIAL,\u00a0 our final female, is the rank outsider in the field at 54\/1 on the morning line.\u00a0 Another long time marathoner cutting back in distance –\u00a0 doesn’t appear it will help her chances.
\n.
\n10)\u00a0 EL HURACAN is the handicapper’s choice at 7\/2.\u00a0 Deep closer will need to navigate some traffic,\u00a0 but it appears he\u00a0 should be right there at the finish if he hasn’t gone “over the cliff” after 25 previous runs.
\n.
\n11)\u00a0 BLACK KARNAMEL\u00a0 is a deep closer held at 7\/1 on the morning line.\u00a0 Strong outings last two tries after a freshening ;\u00a0 should be motoring late down the lane – may just get there.
