FOR TERESA has been instilled as the solid 2-1 favorite and will be flying the
layeguada silks off of back to back career high scores. Will this free wheeling front runner
face any pressure? Or will this be another walk in the park? Let’s see if we can figure out
what just might unfold in this classic NWRC event.

1> MICHIGAN ROCKET googoodoll :6-1: A very intriguing start to this race, as we get
a filly against the boys here. She’s been on a roll of late with three straight convincing wins
at this very distance. While her numbers appear a tad light against the top two, she looks
like she might get a pretty good trip here closing from midpack. Has to be considered for
the exotics at the very least based on her current sharp form.

2> FOR TERESA layeguada :2-1: He’s done his best work of late, winning his last two
with lifetime best efforts. He’s got one way to go as he has never passed a horse in the
stretch in his 38 races carded. If you’re looking for someone to go with him, there are a
few signed up here with a touch of gas. But from a class stand point he has those over a
barrel. Two of those are allowance runners and the others a sophmore, while he’s been
knocking heads in seventeen straight Stakes races. Never been able to put up more than
three straight triple digit numbers yet and one will certainly be required here, so there is
hope for the others. But if he can bring his “A” game one more time, the others will battle
for second.

3> KORNOGRAPHY korn :11-1: He’s got three straight fine efforts showing, but those
were against allowance foes. This will be his first Stakes attempt in his thirty race career.
Can’t find the required 100+ number in any of those races. Hard to see one coming here
at six. But he is in the best form of his life right now, so if the favorite doesn’t fire his
bullet, perhaps this guy can get first run and hope to hold off the closers.

4> BOLD AND PERFECT tbird2 :17-1: The lone three year old here is also the longest
shot on the board. The bulk of his races have come over the sod and he too has yet to
post the needed numbers to compete for the crown here. But his best race to date did
come at this very distance when he wired a field of restricted Stakes runners. He still has
his best races ahead of him, but this sure is a tough spot to debut against your elders.
He no doubt has the speed to give the favorite something to think about early though.

5> NEW AKAAB BARGAIN 6ward2 :8-1: This guy looks like he’s still trying to find his nitch.
He was claimed for 2K back in May and his new trainer has done some fine work since.
He immediately found success on the dirt and ten races later he’s in a $250,000 Stakes
race at single digit odds. If you can’t throw out that last race, he’s going to be very tough
to embrace. But since it was his first “off” dirt try, maybe we can. He’s still learning the
distance game and has some upside. Could be a “Cinderfella” story in the offing.

6> PURRFECT PROSPECT stevemunoz 7/2: He’s going to need some help up front,
as he’s a stone cold closer. Has some competitive numbers, but has only got there one time
in his twelve Stakes tries. But he did fire his best shot to date in his last race following
a failed turf experiment. He’ll be coming late, but will he be able to pass them all?

7> BABYFACED ASSASIN hamster :4-1: The most experienced of the group with 57 runs.
Of those, only one was a restricted Stakes win and it was the last time he ran at this distance.
This guy has put up some competitive numbers in his eleven allowance wins. Like the former,
he too will looking to pick off targets late. At six, this could be one of the last great things he
does.

8> SLEW A DEPUTY derbyking9 :7-1: This very well-bred 5 year old has been on a Stakes
vacation for over a year. After three straight fairly sharp efforts where he’s won two of three,
he’s jumping back in. He sprinkles in a 100+ number every now and then. Sprinkles look
like what it might take for him to be seriously considered here, as his best runs have been
over “good” tracks. A light rain would have me heading to the windows.

My Picks> Babyfaced Assassin > For Teresa > Purrfect Prospect > Michigan Rocket
“Just my opinion” Best Wishes on BB Day folks “badasboots”

[2

post-5005","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
