GRADE 1 \u2013 THE COBBLER MILE<\/span><\/p>\n

A very talented group of horses have gathered here in California for the G1 COBBLER MILE to be contested on Sunday, May 19th<\/sup> on a firm turf over the distance of 1 Mile (8 furlongs) or 1600 meters for the metric set.\u00a0 The 14 runners will bust out of the gates at 3:00pm.<\/p>\n

The Handicapper must have been having fits trying to separate the strengths of the runners in this field, as he has established the co-favorites at 7-1 odds and has all, but 1 entry packed in between there and 14-1.\u00a0 In fact, the longest shot is only at 19-1 odds.<\/p>\n

The field is made up of 8 graded stakes winners with 5 more listed winners and only 1 that has yet to win at the stakes level.\u00a0 8 entries are mare bred with 5 scratch breds and 1 from a he-mare.\u00a0 6 Four year olds, 7 Five year olds and 1 Six year old have been entered.\u00a0 5 of the starers were bred in Kentucky, with 3 from England, 2 each from Japan and Ireland and 1 each from Australia and New York.<\/p>\n
