The SENOR BOOMER Challenge Stakes, to be run over seven and a half furlongs on the fast dirt for all 2yo`s. It looks a mighty difficult race to call with inexperienced runners mostly trying the trip for the first time so perhaps punters should keep their cash in their pockets for this one.

1) TSF ACADEMY zman 524211 3/1 P Papp

2 yo colt

Opera house x Lions Cavern x Forty Niner.

6 runs 2 wins 2 seconds $74031

3 disappointing runs on the turf before the switch to dirt which has ignited his career.Getting steadily better with experience. In his first run on the dirt went well in a small five and a half furlongs maiden in Malaysia, just failing to pick up the win by three quarters of a length but running an eighty speed figure. Rather disappointing to see his speed drop next time out despite winning his first stakes race over six and a half furlongs, coming from off the pace to win with a seventy five. A six week break done him the world of good as lto he picked up his second stakes over the same distance with an impressive eighty seven. Stepped up a further furlong in this, but running style suggests it may not be a problem.

2) BLESS HIS NAME devry 11 5/1 A Craig

2 yo colt

Rahy x Deputy Commander x Meadowlake

2 runs 2 wins $69840

Blessy has made a fabulous start to his racing career, winning a five furlongs dirt $36400 MSW in Athens first time up with a sixty eight. Improved for the extra furlong next time and landed a six furlong stakes race at his first attempt when winning a $80000 stakes in Spain, once again showing good early toe and running on. I wouldn`t be surprised to see more improvement but the big question is the distance, particularly as he shows so much good early pace. On the other hand he isn`t the only one with this problem as most others in the race are also stepping up in distance.Interesting jockey booking sees him grab the best pilot in the race.

3) OF A REVOLUTION tyedye 121000 2/1 f T Wasko

2 yo colt

Rock Hard Ten x Capote x Storm Cat

7 runs 2 wins1 second $76190

Smart form early in his career (looked a world beater when winning a six furlong stakes at Arkansas in only his fourth run albeit on tacky ground. Won with an impressive 87) but has not managed to sustain that level. However there are genuine excuses for his poor showing in his last two races, both mighty tough graded affairs. LTO did not act on the turf in a seven furlong grade 1 in Ireland and before that trip looked on the sharp side when running a seventy eight to finish seventh in a six furlongs grade 3 on the dirt in New Jersey. This is much easier and his trainer will be hoping he can bounce back to his earlier form.

4) GUILD OF GILD wws 3 7/2 H Welbourne

2 yo colt

Monsun x Gilded Time x Seattle Slew

1 run 1 third $6400

Sent from Whispers Willow stables, all housed at EAAA, this one really could be anything. His one run came in a six furlong stakes in Athens where he did perform quite well to steal a place, recording a speed figure of seventy two which was a decent performance from one so highly tried. He will improve although the trip once again has to be taken on trust. Difficult one to weigh up on so little evidence so anything from a win to trailing in stone cold last is likely.

5) EVEN WITH CHACHIN cashmoney 14 11/1 RT Salo

2 yo colt

Even the Score x Aptitude x Archers Bay

2 runs 1 win $32720

This is what makes this race so difficult to call. Here we have the cheapest bred horse in the field, the rank outsider at 11/1 and yet he cant be ruled out as he is the only really sure of getting the trip. He won at his first trip to the track, picking up a five and a half furlongs $48700 maiden by a nose with a speed figure of sixty two in what in hindsight looks too short a trip. Tried stakes company in Spain lto and stretched his legs over todays trip. He was far from disgraced even though he failed to place but returned a speed figure of seventy seven. If he improves a little he could even take this if it is proven he is racing a field on non stayers.

6) HYPNOSE super2 612 3/1 J Bradley

2 yo colt

Pivotal x Seeking the Gold x Seattle Slew

3 races 1 win 1 second $45870

Lovely looking colt opened his career with two average looking runs on the turf in maidens (even though he won the second of these, returning fifty nine both times). Exploded into life lto when put on the dirt for the first time in France when competing in a six and a half furlongs stakes. Broke well and showed blinding early toe he had built up a lead of two and a half lengths by halfway. Outpaced final furlong by the closing TSF ACADEMY he went down by two and a quarter lengths.Ran his fastest speed figure of 83, rather impressive considering his lack of experience but there is no reason why he should reverse form over this longer trip with the horse in the one box. The speedy running style of this horse may well work against him here.

Pogo Predicts

A nasty trappy little event ths where almost anything can happen.
