Today Kentucky hosts all the 3yo colt dirt races and we will be looking at the longest of them all, the 16 furlong dirt survivor. Today\u2019s race features some of the finest dirt stayer\u2019s the world has to offer and all will be looking to bring their team success. Let\u2019s have a look at the form guide and see what\u2019s going to win.<\/p>\n

First time for the horse at running in the big time and this will be just his 2nd start over 16 furlongs. Claimed for 13,500 just 6 starts ago it has proved to be a wise investment for his new trainer. Having won 2 races but it is his potential over the longer distances that that will provide dividends for his trainer rharfo. Running 16 furlongs for the first time last start he put in a game effort running 2nd with an sp of 94 but today\u2019s assignment just looks way to tough but this horse has a nice future ahead of him.

Key to the forest is taking another step up in class today after taking such a huge step last time out where he was able to win a stakes race over 14 furlongs running a nice sp of 101, however his only start over 16 furlongs was his first ever stakes race where he was dismal Losing to Load the Cannons by 26.5 lengths. I just hope for the sake of his trainer barber that it was just a blip on the radar. I expect Anthony Craig to sit on the heals of Sad Java Man and trying to make his run very late in the race.

Originally meant to be a turf runner Nasumix never seem to enjoy running on turf. After quite a few poor performances her trainer saberth decided to make the switch to dirt and it paid dividends straight away because Nasumix won 3 allowance races in a row and followed that up with a game 2nd at stakes level. Since then though he has not quite been the same unable to get close to them at stakes level he has twice been back to allowance racing for 2 wins, today\u2019s huge step up inclass mean he can\u2019t win let\u2019s hope he can run a nice race.

Winner of the Grade 1 South Australian Cup in may 2006 over this distance as well as 6 stakes races and a grade 3, shows the career of a top horse but it is on only a few occasions that he is able to break the 100 sp figure. It is normally every 7 or 8 races that he posts such a high speed figure. I don\u2019t know if that is significant to his chance\u2019s today but that\u2019s where he needs to be to be even able to run a place. And with Ozzy Osbourne in the saddle you have no idea what\u2019s going to happen.

Here is the class of the field who has been racing and winning in graded company for a long time. He has won 2 grade 1\u2019s this year alone and both of those race were over 16 furlongs. He is a deep closer who likes to circle the field when he runs and is the only horse in the race capable of running an speed figure of 110. and you like him even more when you have a horse like Sad Java Man making the pace up front for him. But Pete Bangs wants to be careful of 2 things 1 that he don\u2019t let Sad Java Man get to far away and 2nd he needs to keep the horse out of traffic.

Team FENZA was desperate for a wet track for their horse Krispy Cr\u00e8me who is 3 starts for 3 wins on the mud, however it never eventuated. Claimed for just $20,000 back in February has been racing well at stakes level running races at around the 100 speed figure. Last start he was dropped back to 9 furlongs where he ran 3rd with an impressive speed figure of 104. Today he is moving up to the 16 furlongs for the first time which he could find difficult but he is none the less a place chance.

Look\u2019s to me to be in just to make up numbers but if you look at the form it has been racing quite well although not in the same class as some of these horses. It has been racing mostly over 12 furlongs and even recorded a 101 sp last start but his only start over 12 furlongs was over 13 furlongs where he ran 2nd but ran a miserable sp of 85 today George \u201cLittle\u201d Giant will be no doubt setting the pace trying to hold off all chalanges but I can\u2019t see victory here.

4 time stakes winner including 3 at this distance Load the Cannons has been a great horse for his owner. It is unfortunate that this race just looks way to hard for him. In 40 career starts he is yet to break a speed figure of 100. I believe his owner and his team were hoping for a wet track when he was entered into this race but unfortunately the rain never came. However I\u2019m sure the great Victor Gardner can get him over 100 sp for the first time.
9 3662 MIRACLE TO ME soulbleed N Lawton 10\/1 (NASA)

Interesting runner coming back from injury hurting his back in an incident at Texas last start, and he could not have walked into a tougher assignment than this. A winner 2 starts ago of the Grade 1 Out of the city Handicap over 10 furlongs you would think he would be running in a shorter race than this. However he is also a winner of the Grade 3 Apple Marathon over this distance and looks like he is here to boost the points for team NASA. Under normal circumstances you would have to consider him a huge chance but I can\u2019t get past the injury after only 6 weeks rest. Ned Lawton will take it easy on him though if he can\u2019t win.

Winner of the Grade 1 KyH Whisky cup over 16 furlongs just 5 starts back in what was an incredible run to hold off sinanju. Since then he has been very disappointing losing by a massive 31.5 lengths in his next grade 1 start, after that he ran a nice 2nd at stakes level then he failed yet again. I don\u2019t know what to think will he run good will he run bad I have no idea. His last jockey Henry Dersitter tells me that he is not named Enter the beast for nothing, he also says that if the horse could get his temper under control he could prove to be a champion but it looks like he needs to take a chill pill and calm down, a place chance.

Another horse bred to be a turfer who has taken to dirt like a fish takes to water. Claimed for $150,000 7 starts ago his new trainer sent him straight to dirt. And he didn\u2019t let his trainer down running a very nice 2nd in an allowance race. Since the he has won 3 races including 2 at stakes level recording a very nice 108 speed figure, But last time out he was very ordinary, he just didn\u2019t get going and that must have left whisper very angry. But I have a feeling it may have just been a workout with this race in mind, so I\u2019m not willing to rule him out.

SADDLERS’ HALL(IRE) MANLOVE JAVA GOLD
In what has proved to be an inspired move by the golfteam stables Sad Java Man was claimed last November for just $30,000 and has since gone on to win 8 races including his last 6. His last 4 runs have been in stakes races with his best run being in the Let\u2019s find out stakes where he ran a great 104 sp. He has untapped potential could well prove to be one of the best stayers going around. Ned Labreche has the ride and will be pushing the pace from the outset, only time will tell if he can hold off all the challenges. Has a great chance at some points for team NASA.<\/p>\n
