Rather, the more lightly raced Farwind, Lady Madeline, Kittengate, and Ms Chievous are all expected to be near the front of the pack in a race that will be very difficult to predict.

Holy Moly Bulb (7/1) looks to raise her entry points for this level of race from 11.00, which would currently place her 8th in the Breeders’ Bowl Juvenile Filly field. She has consistently finished in the top three regardless of the competition in her young career but may be a bit of a follower with only two wins from six.

Grahams Cadet (10/1) recently moved over from the turf, where she had placed at the G1 level, and won convincingly in an 8 furlong race that could indicate even greater potential with this surface. However, she may have benefitted by a softer surface that day aiding in her transition. The dirt will be fast on Saturday.

Kittengate (6/1) needs a big result to qualify for the Breeders’ Bowl field. Third place in the G3 Chicago-DC Lassie was impressive, especially with a fast time, but she may struggle trying to go gate-to-wire again against a deeper field.

Fourth in line is Seize the Knight (14/1). Somewhat untested with just three starts, two of them wins, but has improved quickly as her races have increased in distance. Carries a strong pedigree with a ARROGATE x ARCH x A.P. INDY bloodline.

Evanora (9/1) has only raced twice and surprises with a relatively strong morning line. Has not broken 72 in her speed ratings as of yet but another starter whose sire forebears (TAPIT x KINGMAMBO x STORM CAT) indicate the potential for greatness.

Rockfest Bandit (6/1) has a G3 win to her name plus second and third at the G1 and G2 level. She is more tested than most of the other starters in this race and currently would bring the 6th highest entry point total into the Breeders’ Bowl Juvenile Filly field. 16.50 should be enough to at least grant her a spot but a G1 win this weekend could make her one of the favorites.

Daddy’s Valentine (24/1) is a former claimer who took a big step forward by placing third in a listed stakes race here in New York in August. Good for her connections for finding this diamond in the rough, though earning a graded place this weekend will be a tough ask.

See My Beauty (38/1) is a local bred who is sure to excite the fans at the track and maybe earn some sentimental bets. Unfortunately, I’d have to put head over heart on this one and look elsewhere to pick a winner.

Lady Madeline (5/1) is your joint favorite after a blistering allowance win in Texas in August. She’s a Giant’s Causeway foal who seems to have been successfully scratch bred with the potential for real greatness. A win this weekend would put her on the map.

In the tenth position is Farwind (5/1). Similar story to the filly on her inside. Great numbers elsewhere make her an honest favorite but we haven’t quite seen what she can do against a full field with more seasoned foes. Unlike Lady Madeline, however, she’ll look to take the lead at the start and never relinquish it.

Kings Wars (29/1) has steadily moved from one graded stakes race to the next without any real results of note. Saturday will be her first G1 race, but she may need to step back a few levels to see success.

The Bone Projecter (28/1) finished fourth at the Dell Computer Debutante behind my current Breeders’ Bowl pick, Nadera. Her prior results hadn’t quite indicated that finish would be in the cards but may be a fun outsider to back if she can repeat it.

Mi Vada (30/1) is another turf filly who made the move over a few months ago. Unlike Grahams Cadet, however, I don’t expect her to really feature.

Ms Chievous (7/1) is comfortable as a dirt miler, making her two previous starts on this surface and distance. This is her first attempt above the allowance circuit and we’ll know a lot more about her future potential after this weekend.

Prediction:

Rockfest Bandit

Holy Moly Bulb

Farwind

New York (NY) – Saturday, October 6, 2018 — 3:00:00 PM EST Frickazee Stakes – 8 Furlongs on Dirt Grade I —

[2

post-46919","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
