This race is for 3 year olds and up as they go 11 furlongs on the turf which has been rated as firm for today’s card. Eleven have passed the entry box and will be running after the top share of the $150,000 purse.

Let’s take a look at today’s field:

1)KINGS OVER ACES(IRE)—7/2—attalaq sends this 4 year old colt out of KING OF KINGS(IRE) with a record of 28-11-9-5 and lifetime earnings of $411,879. He is out of the mare A. P. MAMBO who was 1/17 at the track and who has 5 foals on record of which 3 are winners including 2 stakes winners. This 62nd divisional ranked colt races for the Ozsteve stables based over in Ireland. While this colt broke his maiden in his debut race on the dirt he has made a name for himself on the turf which he has run on since his 3rd lifetime start. He picked up 5 stakes wins in his 3 year old season last year and has added another one this year. He has posted his lifetime best 105 speed rating twice in his career, once last year in The Colonoel Southpaw Memorial Stakes, an 11 furlong turf stakes in Peurto Rico and again 2 starts back in The Smackdown III residence challenge in a 12 furlong turf route. He was cut back down in distance last time out and while rallying appeared to need the extra ground to show off his best form. This colt has shown the ability to both stalk the front runners from closebye as well as close from the middle of the pack in his history. He has already won at today’s distance which he seems most comfortable with. The rider for today’s race will be Lewis (9.2%).

2)SWINGSHIFT SAL—7/1—click sends this 6 year old horse out of NIGHT SHIFT with a record of 53-14-11-4 and lifetime earnings of $2,528,940. This 53rd divisional ranked horse runs for the Del/Penn division of the Topicount stables. This veteran campaigner has picked up 9 stakes race wins in his career of which 4 were of the Graded stakes variety. His best season was in 2005 where he picked up back to back wins in The Grade II Kinsho Kho Classic in Japan and The Grade I Prince Of Whales in Epsom. Wins were hard to come by last year as his form taled off and he only found the winners circle once in a conditioned allowance race. He was usually racing against the best horses in the division and he did manage to pick up three 2nd place cheques and some other minor shares in many of those Graded stakes starts. After winning another conditioned allowance in his 2007 debut he has picked up 4 top 4 finished in overnite stakes races. His lifetime best speed rating are years ago but he did manage a triple digit rating 2 starts back when he posted a 100 rating in the 11 furlong The I Need Food Special Stakes in Virginia. His best races are when he runs in the back third of the field early and saves his best strides for the stretch drive. He is already a proven champion at today’s distance. The rider for today’s race will be Mosebar (11.6%).

3)MEETBALL(GB)—5/1—honeyj sends this 5 year old horse out of DIESIS(GB) with a record of 44-15-6-7 and lifetime earnings of $429,102. He is out of the he mare BUTCHERY who was 3/41 at the track and who thru the miracle of new surgical techniques patented at the Simulated Sports Equine clinic in Kentucky was able to experience the miracle of giving birth that is usually reserved for the female gender. This 40th divisional ranked horse runs for the Bob123g stables based in Kentucky. This horse was a solid allowance campaigner in his 3 year old season and joined in the stakes foray as a 4 year old. He picked up 6 added money events last year and won another one this season. He is 0/2 in Graded stakes starts and hopes to change that statistic today in this Grade III event. He comes into today’s race after posting his lifetime best 105 speed rating last time out while finishing in 2nd in The Monkey Football Memorial Stakes in North Florida over 12 furlongs on the turf. His best races have him either on the lead or pressing the pace and it is expected that he will be one of those charging out early when the gate opens at the start. He has won many times at today’s distance and is an established long turf router. The rider for today’s race will be Wendorff (17.4%).

4)OIL IN THE FIRST(GB)—28/1—casualcsh sends this 4 year old colt out of KAYF TARA(GB) with a record of 24-2-7-3 and lifetime earnings of $110,808. He is out of the mare GRAVELY THE LAUREN(IRE) who was 6/44 at the track and who has 3 foals on record, all winners. This 549th divisional ranked colt runs for The Big Oil Conglomorate based over at the GR Simsters. This will be the second stakes start and Graded stakes debut for this colt who only has 2 allowance wins to his record so far. He cut the early fractions in his previous stakes start last time out but began to tire after the half and ended up 30 lengths back at the wire. In his race prior he posted his lifetime best 95 speed rating while winning a NW1X allowance 12 furlong route but that mark will have to be greatly improved upon to have any chance in this race today. This colt is a front runner who really has not shown that he can carry his speed all the way to the wire but in any event he will ensure an honest pace in this race today. He did break his maiden over 11 furlongs on the turf last year. The rider for today’s race will be Bono (1.3%) who will be looking for his 2nd win of the season today.

5)S R KING OIL(AUS)—8/1—jeffdrew sends this 5 year old horse out of HIGH ROLLING(AUS) with a record of 21-4-3-6 and lifetime earnings of $119,377. This 149th divisional ranked horse is the stablemate of #4 OIL IN THE FIRST(GB) over at The Big Oil Conglomorate managed by the spirited Lord Pye. This horse broke his maiden in a $30,000 maiden claimer several years ago and put together a steady allowance race career since then. He became a stakes winner earlier this year while winning The Your Nijinsky Handicap Stakes over 13 furlongs on the turf in Ascot. Since then he did not show anything special in an assortment of 13 and 14 furlong dirt and turf stakes starts until last time out when he was dropped down to today’s 11 furlong distance. He posted his lifetime best 106 speed rating, his only triple digit figure lifetime so far, while rallying to finish 3rd in The Grade III Fusahoochie Turf Classic in Europe. He closed up 10 furlongs in the stretch in that race and his connections hope that this is the magical distance that this horse needs for his best runs. A smart move by his connections was also made by inserting a rabbit in this race to ensure a quick and honest pace for this one to run at in the stretch drive. The rider for today’s race will be Wiedener (8.8%).

6)OTTOMAN TURKS—6/1—stoners sends this 4 year old colt out of EMPIRE MAKER with a record of 12-8-2-0 and lifetime earnings of $786,700. This 11th divisional ranked colt runs for the sim wide bad boy himself stoners who has settled his tack at the new Global Runners racing organization. This colts 6 race win streak was broken last time out when he finsihed 5th in The Grade I Judgemont International Epsom where he could not get the lead and eventually fell back as the race progressed. Prior to that one he had posted back to back Grade I wins including The Grade I San Fransisco Capitan Handicap where he posted his lifetime best 109 speed rating over the 12 furlong turf race in California. He is a speedy frontrunner, and there are others here who will pressure the pace so his connections hope that he will be able to write off his last start and return to the dominant pace setting form that he employed in his extended winning streak. This will be his first start at 11 furlongs albeit he has won 4 times at the 12 furlong distance. The rider for today’s race will be Cahill (22.2%) who is the current leading rider here in Oklahoma for the season.

7)HAYDEN’S SPLASH—7/1—bobby2khw sends this 4 year old colt out of AFLEET with a record of 15-6-1-3 and lifetime earnings of $238,811. He is out of the mare HER FRIENDS who was 4/11 at the track and who has 5 foals on record of which 4 are winners including 1 Graded stakes winner. This 223rd divisional ranked colt runs out of the Pastures of Green racing club based in Vermont. This colt raced on the dirt as a 2 and 3 year old and was switched to the grass in his 3rd start this year. He promply went on a 3 race winning streak after switching surfaces and the last win was The Grade II Golden Platter Handicap in Northern California where he posted his lifetime best 105 speed rating over the 10 furlong turf race. He came back to finish 4th in a Grade I 9 furlong test last time out. This will be the first time this colt has run this far in a race and so far he has shown to be most effective when running a stalking style of race sitting a few lengths back of the frontrunners in the early portions of the race. The rider for today’s race will be Moore (10.8%).

8)CUTE KRIS S—21/1—acadie sends this 4 year old colt out of SYMBOLI KRIS S with a record of 25-7-3-8 and lifetime earnings of $342,948. He is out of the mare BRO FROM PROSPECT who was 1/21 at the track and who has 3 foals on record, all winners including 1 Graded stakes winner. This colt won 2 stakes races last year in his 3 year old season including The Grade III The Queen’s Flower Pot Stakes over 16 furlongs. This year he is 2/2 in allowance races but has not been able to find the winners circle in 4 stakes starts. He posted his lifetime best 98 speed rating last season while winning The Graduation Night Memorial Stakes but he has not posted up a triple digit speed rating yet in his career. This colt has shown some versatiltiy in running styles both racing on the front end, which would not be advised today, as well as displaying an ability to stalk from off the pace. He has already won a stakes race at today’s 11 furlong distance. The rider for today’s race will be Lee (4.5%).

9)GIANTSBANE—5/1—sangster sends this 4 year old colt out of MINESHAFT with a record of 16-5-2-1 and lifetime earnings of $436,290. He is out of the mare GIANT’S MILLENNIUM(IRE) who was 2/9 at the track and who has 3 foals on record, all winners including 1 Graded stakes winner. This 116th divisional ranked colt runs for the master chief over at the GR Simsters in the Galileo stables. This colt came up big last year in The Grade II The Big Race stakes in Kentucky and has added another overnite stakes win to his credit this year. He posted his lifetime best 106 speed rating 2 starts back while finishing 2nd in The Grade I NY Island Cap. Last time out he ran in a Grade I Smackdown III added money event, also at 10 furlongs on the turf where he ran a flat 6th not showing any real interest in the race. This colt has shown speed last year in his career starts but will probably run a stalking style today as he has shown in recent form sitting a couple of lengths back of the front runners and then making his move in the far turn. He is already a multiple winner at today’s 11 furlong distance. The rider for today’s race will be Schell (12.4%).

10)PRIZE INDY—12/1—m92885 sends this 6 year old horse out of PRIZED with a record of 30-7-4-8 and lifetime earnings of $216,382. He is out of the mare ROPE BLUSH who was 16/63 at the track and who has 4 foals on record, all winners including 2 stakes winners. This 335th divisional ranked horse runs for the Mrcoker stables based over with the chatty bunch at CR Racers. This horse was unraced as a 2 year old and was a solid allowance campaigner thru this season. He finally found the winners circle in a stakes race last time out after being winless in his first 8 tries. He won the 10.5 furlong The World Traveller(IRE) Challenge Stakes in South Dakota last time out on a turf listed as good. His lifetime best 99 speed rating was posted last year and that mark leaves him behind some of the other runners in this race today. He usually runs by pressing the pace and it appears that it will be a very fast one for today’s race. He is already a proven winner at this distance. The rider for today’s race will be Edmunds (3.8%).

11)WONDERBOY DOCKERS—11/1—trifecta sends this 5 year old horse out of RAHY with a record of 38-9-8-2 and lifetime earnings of $287,266. He is out of the mare HERE COMES RISKY who was 1/18 at the track and who has 3 foals on record of which 2 are winners including 1 stakes winner. This 1624th divisional ranked horse runs for the King Ranch based over at Del/Penn National. This horse has had many owners in his career but his current connections picked him up for $255,000 at the auction 7 weeks ago. In his first start for his new owners he finished 4th in the Grade I Judgemont International where he set the early fractions but could not finish and fading in the stretch drive. His best sesaon would have been in 2005 where he was a multiple stakes winner. His previous owners had the best success with this horse when running him in starter allowances after claiming him for the low price of $4,000 last year. His lifetime best 100 speed rating was posted in his final race last year and that is the only time he has hit the triple digit figure in his career. This is another who races best on the early lead and there will be quite a few of those with that preferred style here today. He has posted several wins already at todays 11 furlong distance. The rider for today’s race will be Alexander (9.5%).

Well, just like the other co-feature on Winchester Park day this one looks to have an abundance of speed and may just set it up for one of the closers. Upon looking things over I am going to take a shot at #5 S R KING OIL(AUS) to continue to show improvement from his last and pull of the mild 8/1 upset here today.
