Today’s race brings together a very select field of up and coming performers all looking to take the next step towards stardom Let’s take a look at the form guide and see if we can find the winner.

PP1
REGATTA(AUS) simon1966 J Harzheim 5/2
ELVSTROEM (AUS) x DARSHAAN(ENG) x CANDY STRIPES
Winner of the shin Tootsie Special stakes mile just 3 starts ago and also a place getter in the Grade 2 Lillispelis cup where she almost he 100 sp for the first time just 2 starts ago Regatta is looking to take the next step. Last start she went back to 7 furlongs and did’t quite live up to expectation. But back to 8 furlongs today I think she will improve again but I think today she needs to break 100 to win. She has a huge advantage of having Jimmy Harzheim in the saddle who is the best jockey in Tasmania in my opinion. As favorite she is expected to win but I’m not sure, however I think she is the horse to beat.

PP2
BLUES DIVA(ENG) jwpop De Hall 5/1
SAKHEE x KINGMAMBO x WARNING(GB)
2 time stakes winner who looks to be on the slide not being able to win in her last 7 stakes attempts, She was looking like she could be a superstar late last year, but it was unfortunate that se got injured in her very nex run and has been unable to get back to the form that she was in. She did run very well in her last 2 attempts on a dry track in a couple of allowance races but I don’t know if she still has the goods at this level. Her chances may be reflected by the jockey she got who is only a 7% lifetime winner.

PP3
BALD ROCK(IRE) olebaldy J Ohlmann 7/1
ROCK OF GIBRALTAR (IRE) x SEEKING THE GOLD x SADLER’S WELLS
Lightly raced up and coming horse who is still on the improve, She started her career like a whirlwind winning her first 3 starts before slowing down at the end of last season. SO far this year she is 1-3-1 from 5 starts but her SP’s are not quite up to some of the others in this field. However today she is stepping back to what I think is her pet distance 8 furlongs but she will need to improve at least 6 sp’s on her best run to be a chance of winning. I think she will be a better horse in a year or 2.

PP4
RED N WILLING(IRE) blackbart W Perkins 10/1
PEINTRE CELEBRE (IRE) x RED RANSOM x DYNAFORMER
Winner of 3 of her 5 starts looking to take that big step into stakes races. After a very lackluster first run over 6 furlongs she came out next time and won her maiden very easy. She then won at her next start before showing her lack of experience by trying to duck back into the rails and getting stuck behind a wall of horses and failing for the 2nd time in her career. Then last time she came out and went from wire to wire and won very easy but again in a very slow time. She will need to improve a lot to win this race but she has plenty of improvement in her and could be right in a very tight finish.

PP5
HEAT MORE(IRE) iant4 N Lawless 5/1
AZAMOUR (IRE) x RAHY x THEATRICAL(IRE)
With 4 wins and 3 placing’s from just 8 career starts Heat More is another looking to take that next step into Stakes class. She 3 of her past 4 all races have resulted in wins but the were all in allowance races and the one she lost just happened to be a stakes race. However that stakes race was over 8.5 furlongs where she struggled over the last half furlong. In her last run she did manage to run a 102 sp which is a big indicator she is ready to make that giant leap to stakes class. The only downside I can see in jockey Nathan Lawless is only winning 5% of the time this year.

PP6
MASSIVE(IRE) fairhaven5 Do Tyrrell 9/2
EL PRADO(IRE) x MILL REEF x ROUND TABLE
Massively consistent horse who has been inside the top 2 place getters in all but one of his 9 starts his only real failure was on a wet track. Trainer fairhaven5 has brought this horse along very slow making him go through his allowance classes before stepping her up to stakes class. She almost made that step last start running 2nd in the Graceful Lee Memorial but that was in a slow time. But with so many horses in this race trying to make the same step into stakes racing this might be a good opotunitty to pick up a nice win. Hopefully Do Tyrrell has the horse in the right place at the right time.

PP7
MARTO SMALLVILLE(IRE) marto4 S Ross 13/1
KING’S BEST(IRE) x NOHOLME II(AUS) x PIA STAR
This one looks to me to be in a little over her head. She has been trying to break her stakes duck for quite some time now but has only got close on one occasion when 2nd in a very weak race 2 starts back. This is a hell of a lot harder than that so unless S.Ross has a few cans of red bull in his pocket I can’t see how Marto Smallville has a chance. She would be more suited back at allowance class after a good 3 month layoff.

PP8
SPIN WITH PRIDE(AUS) spiderwort A Tazdevil 4/1
SPINNING WORLD x KINGMAMBO x NINISKI
If anything is going to beat the favorite this would have to be my pick as it is proven she can run 100SP in stronger races. 3 starts ago she broke through for her maiden stakes victory over 8 furlongs back in may. She then followed up with a nice 3rd beatin home Regatta in the Lillispeilis cup just 2 starts back. Last start she dropped back to the sprint ranks but found the going to tough over 7 furlongs. But today back to her pet distance of 8 furlongs she will no doubt be back to her best looking to get another victory on regatta.
With Anthony Tazdevil in the saddle I can see her winning this race she is my no 1 selection.

Magoo selects 8-1-6-5-4

[2

post-4595","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
