This 60th divisional ranked colt runs for Doctahg’s No Do Claima’s stable and is based in the Vermont Division over at the Patures of Green. This colt’s only stakes win to date was earlier this year in The Grade III Swale Stakes in Florida where he stalked the pace and eventually won posting his lifetime best 103 speed rating over the 7 furlong race. He matched that rating last time out finishing 2nd in an allowance race over the same distance. In several races this year it seems if he can not keep up early in the race then he tends to give up and finished well back. He will need to show some early pace to stalk the frontrunners today to have any hope in the added money sprint today. The jockey for today’s race will be one of the best on the circuit in Fryar (19.1%).

2)HEEHAW II—9/1—fedordan sends this 4 year old colt out of TOCCET with a record of 24-6-6-3 and lifetime earnings of $117,739. This 238th divisional ranked colt runs for the unafilliated Westfield Dumbreck stables. While this colt is 0/4 lifetime in stakes races he did manage a 2nd place finish last time out in The Slew Sea Special Stakes in Deleware where he posted his 2nd straight 105 speed rating over the 6 furlong dirt race. While this front running colt has won previously at the 7 furlong mark he will need to be rated well on the front end as he is usually losing ground in the later stages of his races. It will be up to the veteran rider Gordon (6.8%) to ensure soft fractions so that he has something left for the final 1/16th of a mile.

3)HAND MAD OUTLAWS(IL)—30/1—sharp2912 sends this 3 year old colt out of WESTERN OUTLAW with a record of 9-2-4-1 and lifetime earnings of $47,684. This 353rd divisional ranked colt is based in Vermont at the Pastures of Green. This colt will be making his 3rd consecutive stakes start and will be looking for his first black type win today. He posted his lifetime best 98 speed rating last time out while finishing 2nd in The Vanilla Ant Stakes in Maine. While this colt started his career as a frontrunner speed horse he has lately taken to falling back in the pack and attempting to close in the stretch drive. It still remains to be seen whether he has that big late kick to be succesfull with that style. The rider for today’s race will be Green (9.4%).

4)STOLEN TOUCH(NY)—37/1—goldhorse sends this 3 year old colt out of MIDAS EYES with a record of 16-3-1-3 and lifetime earnings of $95,406. He is out of the mare WHO SOLD THE GOLD(BRZ) who was 3/23 at the track and who has 2 foals on record of which this is the only winner to date. This 121st divisional ranked colt runs for the Jockfan stables based in the newly formed New York Racing Residence. This colt has 1 stakes win in 11 lifetime stakes starts and that came last year in The Junior Ack Special Stakes in North Carolina in this colts final 2 year old start. He is 0/9 since that win and has only managed to pick up a few minor checks so far this year. His lifetime best speed rating of 94 was posted 2 starts back while finishing 5th in an allowance sprint in Virginia. He does show some early speed and should be pressing the early pace today but would need to improve in order to be around when they cross the wire today. The jockey for today’s race will be Ritterspauch (6.9%).

5)BET THE POT—8/1—super 4 sends this 5 year old horse out of TOUCH GOLD with a record of 32-7-5-3 and lifetime earnings of $132,768. He is out of the mare MAMA PRIVATE who was 9/59 at the track and who has 4 foals on record of which all are winners. This 412th divisional ranked horse runs for the pride of the Del/Penn racing association, The Super Stables. This colt made his second lifetime stakes start and his Graded stakes debut last time out in The Grade III Del/Penn sponsored Catch Ivanymil’s Geezer Stakes where he made a mild rally to finish 4th posting a 102 speed rating over the 7 furlong sprint. That mark was only 1 point of his lifetime best mark. While you can call this colt a closer he usually sits in the pack only 2-3 lengths of the pace and you can usually tell at the top of the stretch whether he has a big winning move or not on that given day. The apprentice jockey O Man (13.2%) gets the nod in the saddle today.

6)GIANT AMBITION(IRE)—10/1—nemifarms sends this 4 year old colt out of PERFECT SOUL(IRE) with a record of 20-4-3-3 and lifetime earnings of $80,560. This 752nd divisional ranked colt runs for the Chugalug stables based at the GR Simsters Racing Association. This colt will be looking for his stakes winning debut in his 2nd added money start for his career today. He posted his lifetime best 103 speed rating prior to that last start in a NW3X allowance race in Mass. which prompted his connections to try the added money circuit. This colt has shown vesatility in running style so far in his career with both racing as a closer and a pace presser which will leave him with options as the race unfolds today. The rider for today’s race will be Boothroy (8.2%).

7)COOL LIKE FONZIE(AUS)—9/1—peepshold sends this 4 year old colt out of REDOUTE’S CHOICE(AUS) with a record of 26-5-4-4 and lifetime earnings of $132,780. This 737th divisional ranked colt runs for the Cobra Kai Racing Stables based at the GR Simsters organized crime (er… racing) organization. While this colt has had previous stakes race experience it all came in his 2 year old season when he was being run on the turf. He swithced to the dirt last year and his rating and cheque earning abilities greatly improved. He posted his lifetime best 107 speed rating last time out while winning a NW4X allowance sprint in Maine which has prompted his return to the stakes scene today albeit on the dirt surface this time. This colt will be one of the frontrunners posting the early fractions in today’s race. Apprentice jockey E R Cothill (10.7%) also known as Minny Tom will be the rider for this colt today.

8)LOST EMPIRE—10/1—sallygee sends this 4 year old colt out of CAPE TOWN with a record of 32-9-10-3 and lifetime earnings of $582,615. This colt is out of the he mare SAL IS MY DAD who was 14/71 at the track and who miraculously delivered this foal after receiving the secret sim there’s my boy ooops there’s my girl surgery. This 169th divisional ranked colt is based in the Del/Penn racing area. This colt was a 4 times stake winner who was experimented on the turf this year. He even posted his lifetime best 109 speed rating this year while finishing 2nd in The Grade III Hyperactive Handicap in Maine, a turf sprint. The pattern of late has been racing in 2 turf races then a dirt race and then back for 2 turf races but the pattern will be broken today with this dirt stakes start. While this horse used to be a speed horse his form of late has shown him to not being able to get out of the gate as quickly now and the result is more of a closing style. The rider for today’s race will be Sessions (6.8%).

9)SUNDAY PLEASURE(JPN)—11/1—millerfar5 sends this 3 year old colt out of SUNDAY BREAK(JPN) with a record of 13-3-1-4 and lifetime earnings of $79,930. This 201st divisional ranked horse runs for the unafilliated MM group of stables. When they win it is Miller Time mm. This colt will be looking for his first stakes win in his 6th attempt here today. His last 3 races, all stakes starts have produced top 3 finishes. He posted his lifetime best 104 speed rating 2 starts ago while finishing 3rd in The Forty The Old Stakes, a 7.5 furlong sprint in South Carolina. He came right back with another triple digit speed rating last time out and apperars to be sharp right now. He is a speed/presser horse and will have company on the front end here today. Apprentice rider B Unchy (11.4%) will be in the saddle today.

10)THAT IS RIGHT—14/1—kyclocker7 sends this 4 year old colt out of DEHERE with a record of 15-6-1-3 and lifetime earnings of $100,808. He is out of the he mare MARC WEAPON who was 8/49 at the track and another recipient of the voodoo science of equestrian medicine practiced at the Wallace Equine Medical Clinic. This 219th divisional ranked colt races for the Bulletwork stables based in Kentucky. This colt became a stakes winner 2 starts back while winning The Last Boy Scout Cap Stakes in Pennsylvania where he posted a 104 speed rating which is just 1 point of his lifetime best posted earlier this year. That win was the 4th triple digit speed rating he had posted in a row. In his last start 6 weeks ago he seemed to have injured himself and ended up distanced in last place. The fact that he is returning on only a six week layoff should point to the fact that the injury or problems suffered were not as serious as could have been. If he is able to find his previous form right away he would reward his backers with a generous win price. This colt is a midpack closer who will have plenty of speed to chase down the stretch in this sprint today. The jockey for today’s race will be Ireland (10.1%).

11)STORMVUE—9/1—onthewire sends this 4 year old colt out of STORM CAT with a record of 15-6-2-2 and lifetime earnings of $171,200. He is out of the mare SEEKING A STRIKE who was 4/35 at the track and who has 2 foals on record, both winners with 1 a stakes winner. This 357th divisional ranked colt runs for Karie’s Superstables that kick ass albeit there are no ass’s (aka donkeys) in this race so it is unsure of how succesfull this one will be here today. This 2 time stakes winning colt posted his lifetime best speed rating of 108 in his 2007 debut race in an open allowance sprint in Eastern Kentucky. He won the Amad Deal Memorial Stakes in Argentina 2 starts back and is another who will probably be chasing the lead in the early going today. There is a lot of speed in today’s race and it will be interesting to see who can rate the best to catch the big prize in this feature stakes today. The rider for today’s race will be Smith (7.9%).

12)FRAKTAL(KY)—19/1—muninn240 sends this 3 year old colt out of DYNAFORMER with a record of 10-5-0-1 and lifetime earnings of $132,897. This 83rd divisional ranked colt is now based in the EAAA racing Association. This colt has won 4 out of 5 starts since switching to the dirt earlier this year including 2 stakes victories. He posted his lifetime best 102 speed rating last time out while winning The Brother Civil(GB) Memorial Stakes in Eastern Kentucky, a6 furlong dirt sprint. He is another of many frontrunners today and it will be interesting to see just how quick the early fractions are in today’s race and whether some of these speedy colts try to sit back a little early in this race today. The chances of this colt today will not be hurt by the fact that he will have the circuit top rider in Bowen (19.6%) in the saddle today.

13)COSMO N WANDA—6/1—doza sends this 5 year old horse out of CAPOTE with a record of 31-12-5-2 and lifetime earnings of $170,793. He is out of the mare QUEEN’S CAT who was 33/100 at the track and who has 5 foals on record, all of which are winners. This 364th divisional ranked horse races for the local Doza racing stables and will surely be the fan favorite here today. The red and black silks are among one of the most succesfull outfits in the Minnesota backstretch this season. This succesfull allowance runner will be trying his 3rd lifetime stakes start today and will be looking for his first black type victory. He has twice posted his lifetime best 107 speed rating this year both coming in allowance sprint victories. While he he has shown speed and a pressing style this colt’s versatility may come in handy if he can lay off the expected quick early pace and close up in the stretch drive. The local fan favorite will be in the hands of 8 year veteran Stinson (9.8%).

14)HENNESSY TITANS—7/2—slewbetcha sends this 5 year old horse out of HENNESSY with a record of 20-10-1-1 and lifetime earnings of $359,850. This 206th divisional ranked horse races for the Irisharse stables who are commonly found gabbing in the chat room as a member of the CR Racers. This 4 time stakes winner has won a stakes race in each of his racing season so far in his career. While he posted his lifetime best speed rating of 110 last year he twice has posted 109 ratings this year, in both of his 2007 wins including his last start, an open allowance sprint in Northern California. This horse is a mid pack closer and with all the speed in today’s race should get the speedy fractions he need’s to make the best use of his fast 2nd half drive. While he has been made the heavy morning line favorite he will have a low win percentage jockey aboard in Sappington (4.9%).

NOTE #13 COSMO N WANDA IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE 200 CREDIT MINNESOTA DOWNS RESIDENCY PURSE SUPPLEMENT SHOULD HE WIN THIS RACE.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE MINNESOTA RESIDENCE THIS WEEK

The 7th leg of the Minnesota Sire Series #2 for Gulch bred horses goes this week in a 9 furlong dirt route. In her 5th career start, THE CASE QUEEN(FR) from the stable dozaa (Team Doza..obviously) won going 5.5 F on the dirt posting a 69 SP and winning by a length. This High Yield X Woodman X Broad Brush had previously run her races in the norteast but was shipped to Minny when young jocky Old Man promised Doza a victory. The Case Queen hasn’t ventured much in terms of variations of distance only racing between 5.5 and 6.5 F thus far, one of which was a turf try. Will she stretch out now that she has broken her maiden or will the victory over 5.5 keep her in sprints? I certainly be tracking Doza’s decision carefully. Congrats to Doza and The Case Queen!” Upon learning of the award Wenlock responded “Thanks Chuckrock. She surprised me with that win.
