Last week, MONEY BUYS POWER disappointed me with a fifth after winning his previous start.\u00a0 This was his second off board result since joining the stable and I wasn’t sure what I would do with him at the time.\u00a0 He’s now sitting in the auction and will be turned over in the near future to new owners.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 LANDALUCE has been moved off the farm and is now training to make his first start for the stable in a couple of weeks.\u00a0 He was claimed out of a $2k claimer after winning with a speed of 102 and is eligible for dirt cheap starter allowance racing.<\/p>\n
This week I had four entrants starting off with RULER OF DENMARK.\u00a0 I’ve had this one for a while in the farm and opted to test him on the turf, a place he’s raced once.\u00a0\u00a0 His dirt career has been dismal and hoping for a turn around with the switch of surfaces was darkened as he ran 7th pretty much through the entire race.\u00a0 He’s been directed to the auction.\u00a0\u00a0 Ruler left me with a G-card.\u00a0 FLAT AND FLATTER has been moved from farm to stable and has shown capable on both dirt and turf surfaces and we’ll be looking for a spot for him in about two weeks as he trains.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t easy finding a spot for HALF LOCO to make his first start for the stable.\u00a0 He ended up in a $20,000 claiming, 9.5 furlong turf race.\u00a0 He’s a long distance late closer who did just that, kind of.\u00a0 He gave up 13 lengths to the leader by the half and made a move cutting it to about 8 by the time the race was over, moving from 7th to 3rd.\u00a0 More distance would have been better for him and we’ll be looking for just that in his next outing.\u00a0 17 BP’s and one F and one G-card were drawn after the race.<\/p>\n
GENERAL’S STAR is another late runner where I found a 12f, $2,000 claiming race for him.\u00a0 Now Half Loco above could have been in this field, however, I opted to go with one runner here.\u00a0 General ran forth the prior two starts for the stable and had a very nice improvement rallying from last to second in the 12f race.\u00a0 10 BP’s were earned along with 2-G-cards.<\/p>\n
Making his forth start for the stable, BABS SEEKING LUCK found some luck in a Wyoming 8.25 claiming ($2,000 tag) race.\u00a0 I was worried as he faded way back early on, some 14 strides off the lead which is a bit more than he has going around the mile distance.\u00a0 But this guy fired things up and came charging through the stretch to finish second and only a length behind the winner at 9\/1.\u00a0 The 8-horse field gave us two sire cards which were 1-F and 1-G.\u00a0\u00a0 Also got 10 BP’s for the second with travel cost taking it’s dingage.<\/p>\n
So this week was decent with 37 BP’s earned along with 2 F-cards and 5 G-cards.\u00a0\u00a0 We now have 4 F-cards and 15 G-cards.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ve converted the G-cards and that has upped the holdings to 7 F-cards.\u00a0 BP’s have grown to 232 and of course I would love more of those.\u00a0 With a pair of horses leaving the farm, I’ll be looking for another one or two to take those vacancies.<\/p>\n
