In what looked to be a thrilling finish like any other race, owner and trainer of race winner HELPER BOP accused Charley Wolff, the jockey of THE COW’S MOO of virtually pulling his horse to a stop at the end of the race to allow HELPER BOP to win the race also knock him out of the series unless the host T. LOCK wins again to change the restrictions. He filed an official protest but race officials were unable to definitively find any foul. This allows THE COW’S MOO to move into third place but more importantly is the lone remaining horse in that top six that is still eligible to race in the series.

Although race officials were unable to see anything illegal, I must admit that trainer Eml1 sure seems like he knows how to keep THE COW’S MOO in the series and heading for the Championship. This will be the second time that his horse has been accused of holding up in the stretch to allow another to win. He has moved himself into a contending position now as a win would give him a three point lead in the series and another second would tie him for the lead. A very sound strategy of finishing on the board and staying in the series seems to be paying off.

At the other end of the race, Sun Dial leader BELL COGNAC’s surprised everyone by finishing in the middle of the pack for the first time and allowing LYNCHBURG LEMONADE to add to his second place total and cut into “Cognac’s” lead. The two horses have finished last in every chapter of this Series II. LEMONADE who ran a snail-like 32 SPF had to take a race off after previously winning/losing a series race, hopefully he will have enough energy to make it back to the track in time for the next race. Perennial anchor THEIR FIGHT, the twelve year old Maiden finshed next to last and LORD ROTTEN now has points at both ends of the series came in third from the end after finishing third from the front in a previous race.

Race Host T. LOCK had a another good showing this time with a fourth place finish, giving some of the waiting winners of the race some hope that he could pull one out and allow them back in.

Both ends of the series have tightened up considerably and it should certainly be interesting as we have made the half way turn and our heading down the stretch in the OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN SERIES.

Like I said last time, almost anything can happen in this marathon series. It looks like that has already started to be the case. Stay tuned Race Fans!

Best of luck to all of these fine old guys and gals!

The Leader Standings in the series:

BEER RUN (Greenirish) 10 Points

HELPER BOP(TBTA) 9 Points

THE COWS MOO (Eml1) 7 Points

IRON GOLEM (Novajoe) 6 Points

SILVERISH ECHO (Larbare) 6 Points

MOULIN ROUGE (Hakim) 6 Points

T.
