Kentucky BB Sprint<\/B> Welcome to the Bluegrass State for todays feature, the Grade III Kentucky BB sprint over 5.5f on the dirt course. A full field of 14 young sprinters take to the track for what should be a competative renewal. Lets take a look at the runners-<\/FONT><\/P> MAJOR GOLD<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(MR. GREELEY x STRIKE THE GOLD x STOP THE MUSIC)<\/FONT> meguire5th<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Bit offf an outsider as he’s struggled on evry recent stakes run never mind graded company, although he does have four recent allowance wins. That I think says it all, he’s an allowance runner and must surely struggle here.<\/FONT><\/P> SEEKING TO RULE<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(SEEKING THE GOLD x NORTHERN DANCER x BOLD RULER)<\/FONT> tenpin8<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Some really impressive recent graded runs but the best of them were when he was closing fast over 7.5f and 7f (plus 6f on sloppy). Has the pedigree to be a 9f horse and looks now like he wants at least a mile. Todays 5.5f should be plenty sharp enough, and although he has class I don’t think he’ll have the time to show it. The leaders could be finishing by the time he gets going.<\/FONT><\/P> PT’S GULCH CITY<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(GULCH x SLEW CITY SLEW x COZZENE)<\/FONT> pitbullpat<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Sprinters pedigree but has only won three races, no stakes never mind a graded race and this is simply too big a rise in class. Should be better at this shorter trip but would haver to improve a goos 10 sp points to win here. Thats a big ask.<\/FONT><\/P> SCOTIAN GIFT<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(CHARISMATIC x AFLEET x BUCKSPLASHER)<\/FONT> rrlogan<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Has a recent 105 to finish second by a nose in a stakes but that was almost 10 points better than his other runs and his latest produced only an 88 in an allowance. This is his trip but not his grade and he’ll struggle today.<\/FONT><\/P> WALKSTHROUGHWALLS<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(FORTY NINER x STORM CAT x SADLER’S WELLS)<\/FONT> oaklawn66<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> A lot of pace in the pedigree with the best stamina influence at the end and he has been a revelation recently. His last three runs have produced a 106, 111 ans 112 with him being much further clear at the threequarter pole over 7f on the last two occassions, the drop in trip looks to be in his favour. Will be getting the winners garland while most of the field are still leaving the stalls and he could be in line to run a very special sp indeed. For me a 120 isn’t out of the question and I can’t wait to see the race.<\/FONT><\/P> SENORITA SI NA DREN<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(BERTOLINI x SONG II x LUNCHTIME(GB))<\/FONT> bmw<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Another with some nice recent stakes and graded runs but he does seem a little inconsistant. At his best will run a 103-104sp and that could easily get him in the monet today. One of his mid 90’s sp and he’ll be fighting away in midfield.<\/FONT><\/P> KUNG FU<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(FUSAICHI PEGASUS x ALYDAR x HAIL TO REASON)<\/FONT> siama<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> This one has a real finishing kick (sorry!!) as he likes to sit just off the pace and pounce late. Has a string of 100+ sp ‘s at 6f and todays trip should suit just as well. Expect another 104-105 sp and he should be in the monet shake up.<\/FONT><\/P> RIPLEY’S SUNDAY<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(TALE OF THE CAT x SUNDAY SILENCE x NIJINSKY II)<\/FONT> lexington<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Has won three from nine and clearly still has some improveent left in him following two recent allowance wins with 100+sp’s. Will have to improve a bit to figure here but ther’s no reason why he can’t and I expect a decent run.<\/FONT><\/P> ACT OF BRAVE<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(GONE WEST x DANEHILL x NUREYEV)<\/FONT> pm<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Has won eight from twenty eight but has nothing better in his recent graded runs than a third place but does have several 100+ sp’s. He can’t seem to get a handle on his best trip and could finish anywhere here from second to eigth and on that basis alone I don’t know what to make of him. Superbly bred and seemingly talented but where does he run?<\/FONT><\/P> ZABABA(AUS)<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(VISCOUNT (AUS) x BLUEBIRD x CROZIER)<\/FONT> bmr001<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Clearly has talent, with a recent 109 sp over 6.5f but has only one other run with an sp over 91 in his last eight races. There have been no obvious reasons for the difference and incosistancy and I simply can’tt recommend him today. Still he could easily pop up with another 109.<\/FONT><\/P> FUSAICHI PHANTOM<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(FUSAICHI PEGASUS x NORTHERN DANCER x HOIST THE FLAG)<\/FONT> 2totango<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Has been super steady in his allowance races and seemed to show some slight improvement with a 105 in his last run. Another run like that and he could easily take second but if that was a career run he will finish midfield.<\/FONT><\/P> MAMBO ME<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(BELONG TO ME x KINGMAMBO x THE MINSTREL)<\/FONT> peeps5<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> A very good sequence in four recent stakes races with four 100+ sp’s but couldn’t handle the step up in trip and step up in grade in his last run in a the Grade I Gary Carter. I think though that the drop in trip and the experience of graded racing he should be back to his best here and he must rate a top three threat in this field.<\/FONT><\/P> RED NATIVE WOODMAN<\/FONT><\/STRONG> <\/FONT>(RED RANSOM x WOODMAN x RAISE A NATIVE)<\/FONT> pigeon10<\/FONT><\/A> <\/P> Looks a threat based on his last race alone where he wasover three legnths clear at the three quarter mark over 7f and todays shorter trip looks ideal. He produced a 108 latest and any improvement on that and he could take second place. Even another similar run should see him in the money.<\/FONT><\/P>
