One of the things that I love is watching the new crop of two year olds run in the first Graded races of their young careers. I try to follow them throughout the year and into their three year old season. It is a fun maturation process. You just never know with the youngsters at this stage but it appears that we have quite a talented crew here. I can\u2019t wait for the race so let\u2019s take a look:<\/font><\/p>\n

Trainer Mano2 is taking it easy with this prized colt and has the best jock at the track guiding the colt. Could be a tough team to beat.<\/p>\n

He had a sizzling 73 SPF in that race and may do even better on this track. Trainer Austar is sure hoping that is the case. Jockey Horowitz has been really awful this year running at about one half of his usual winners. This would be a good time to turn that around. <\/p>\n

His 67 SPF made trainer UPS quite happy and a little improvement will put him in the mix here. He has Ward in the irons and he is great with these youngsters and is having a great year as well. Could be a good match.<\/p>\n

Jockey Iommi has been pretty pathetic this year and may be on the downside of his 21 year career. <\/p>\n

That has to be a worry for trainer Scorpion wondering if that was all he needed or all he had. He will need to bump that speed figure about 15 points to win here. It won\u2019t help having jockey Count on his back as he only has one more win this entire year than the horse he is guiding. Could be a struggle for this duo.<\/p>\n

Trainer AnitasNags has to think that this girl can challenge the boys here if she can put in another trip like that. Barnes is in the leather and is struggling mightily this year but this mount could turn the tide for him.<\/p>\n

He won his only outing but it was on an off track against a small field with a rather slow SPF of 64. Encouraging but hard to get a grip on his true potential for trainer Astronomer. He should get a better handle on his future after this race. One drawback is that the colt has more wins in his one race than jockey Rizzo has all year. That is not quite as encouraging! <\/p>\n

Trainer Dowelly2 has plenty of experience with these youngsters and has been working on his stamina in the past few weeks. He has VanDam in the saddle and he is one of the exciting young jockeys at the track. This team should be in the mix at the end. <\/p>\n

If he has more in the tank, count on jockey Morris to find it as he is one of the best at this track with the youngsters.<\/p>\n

Now trainer BMR004 has to wonder which colt is for real, the hard charging winner or the strolling unfocused colt of the last race. Those are the things that drive trainers crazy with these juveniles. They have Claypool holding the reins and he has to figure out why he has only one win on the entire campaign. Too many questions here.<\/p>\n

In a trend at this race, jockey Jeremy has only as many wins as his mount this year and will have to be at his best to guide this colt to a strong finish. I\u2019m wondering who will be guiding who.<\/p>\n

They have Yauch in the saddle and that may not help either as he has had his own struggles this year. All in all, not a promising race for this team.<\/p>\n

That is all you can ask of these youngsters is to continually show improvement. He is parked outside which may not help his front running style but trainer SoJourneys knows a trick or two with these juveniles and will ask jockey McCarthy to get her in front in a hurry. Could be a dangerous pairing.<\/p>\n

This has a chance to be a really electrifying race and it may end up with lots of jostling for the win at the finish. Lots of early speed in the race but I like SECOND IN CHARGE <\/b> to finish fourth after contending for the lead most of the race. Sometimes the fillies are ahead of the boys at this stage of their career and I think that may be the case with JACOBITE HIGHLAW <\/b> and I think that she has enough to finish in the top three. In his first trip in the dry weather, I am hoping that MANY LIVES <\/b> is not just a mud specialist and I have him second on my card. With Smith in the saddle and two easy wins, I like B BAUN <\/b> to improve his ranking with a wire to wire win.<\/p>\n
