The second of the two Graded Stakes races in Texas<\/st1:State> on Saturday is the Grade 3 Dallas<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> BB Stakes.<\/U>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This one is for 3 year olds over 7 furlongs on fast dirt.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The purse is $125,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Let\u2019s see who has shown up to race.<\/P>

MAD DROPPER(KY) <\/B>(7\/2) Trainer shorblue4<\/I> brings this 3 year old colt in off a win in the Mookie Into Niner Memorial<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that win, he ran a career high 104 speed figure on two weeks rest.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This youngster came to the track with winning on his mind.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has finished in the money in all ten of his starts and has won seven of them!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That is the way to start a career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has six stakes wins and finished 3rd<\/SUP> in the Grade 3 Swale<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He must be respected as a top contender here.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

BIODYNAMIC(KY) <\/B>(16\/1) Trainer super11<\/I> brings this 3 year old colt in from Malaysia<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His last race was a tough one so we will forgive it and go two back.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that race he won the Son Carson Memorial<\/U> with a gate to wire 96 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has attempted three Grade 3 races and managed a 3rd<\/SUP> in one of them.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He will have his work cut out in this race.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

DUMANJI(KY) <\/B>(15\/1) Kindone5<\/I> brings his 3 year old colt in from the same race in Malaysia<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> that BIODYNAMIC<\/B> ran in. This youngster closed nicely in that race and finished a very fast closing 3rd<\/SUP> versus Grade 3 competition.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He matched his career high best 93 speed figure that day.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The negative is that is not going to be fast enough to win this race.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

WAKI COLT(NM) \u00a0<\/SPAN><\/B>(42\/1) Trainer lgbost5b <\/I>ships his 3 year old colt over from Tasmania<\/st1:State> to Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> to try and get a piece of this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He comes in as a huge long shot but has back to back wins.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Last out, in allowance company, he won with a 92 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That was almost 20 points better than his previous best.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is very lightly raced and if he improves again he may get a small piece of the purse at the large odds.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

BIGOILCONGLOMERATE(GB) <\/B>(11\/1) This 3 year old colt from the homearoan<\/I> stable ships in from California<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> to compete Saturday.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>After running an impressive 98 in allowance company he was sent to the Florida Derby<\/U> where he managed to finish mid-pack among some of the top 3 year olds in the country.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My biggest concern with this one is the 7 furlong distance.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>From his past performances he seems to be more of a miler but he has class.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

TOP NOTCH HERO(KY) <\/B>(11\/1) Here we have a 3 year old colt from the stable of tmaria<\/I>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Two races back he beat BIODYNAMIC<\/B> and DUMANJI<\/B> in the Grade 3 Llama Enforcer Stakes<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that race, he closed from 10th<\/SUP> to 1st<\/SUP> down the stretch and ran a 94 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Even though he has won a Grade 3 race he will have his hands full with a few of these new faces if he does not run faster.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

CAT IN A HARDHAT(KY) <\/B>(12\/1) Troync1<\/I> ships this 3 year old colt in off a disappointing 11th<\/SUP> place finish in the Arkansas Juvenile<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His last two races have been versus some of the top horses in the county and over distance so we will go back a bit farther.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Four back, in his last sprint, he ran an impressive 95 speed figure in winning the Elk Elk Handicap<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think we can expect something similar to that performance today as he drops back in class and distance.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

TALEB(KY) <\/B>(11\/1) This 3 year old exits the Time to Fly Pye Handicap <\/U>with a 3rd<\/SUP> place finish and 96 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>That was his best race up to this point and will need to improve on that race to beat these.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

DANGER CAT(KY) <\/B>(10\/1) This 3 year colt ships in from the New Hampshire<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> for trainer stormbird9<\/I>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Two back at this distance he won the Crescendo Memorial<\/U> with a fast 98 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has finished in the money in nine of his ten sprints and has managed to win five of those.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If he brings his best he may find a piece of the purse.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

ACURA CAKE(KY) <\/B>(9\/1) Trainer elysium<\/I> ships this lightly raced 3 year old colt in to do battle.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This one has a monster closing kick.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Two back he came from 9th<\/SUP> to 1st<\/SUP> to win the Becky\u2019s Lords Stakes<\/U> with a 97 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>He has won four of his five starts and deservedly gets another shot at a graded stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The competition is tough but this fast improving colt will be flying late.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

E BUDA<\/B><\/st1:place>(KY) <\/B>(8\/1) Chop<\/I> brings this 3 year old in off a Grade 3 victory in the Bay Horse Stakes<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He ran a career high 100 speed figure in that race and comes in on top form.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has been in the money in his last three and is well placed here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He seems to like 7 furlongs and may get some of this purse.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

SEPARATED AT BIRTH(KY) <\/B>(8\/1) This 3 year old from the sportoking<\/I> barn comes in off a fast closing 2nd in the Grade 3 Bay Horse Stakes<\/U> that E BUDA<\/B> won.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Prior to that, he showed early speed in winning the Time to Fly Pye Handicap<\/U> with a 100 speed figure.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In eleven sprints he has managed to win six and loves the 7 furlong distance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is dangerous and has been improving rapidly.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

PERSIAN LYRIC(IRE) <\/B>(7\/1) This 3 year old colt from thematrix<\/I> barn comes in off a 2nd<\/SUP> in the Project Dixie Memorial<\/U>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that race he earned a career best speed figure of 102 giving him back to back figs above 100.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is a strong contender off two nice figures in stakes races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

BARB’S YOGI BEAR(ENG) <\/B>(25\/1) Kaleigh<\/I> trains this 3 year old colt and ships him in from Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Last out, he was switched from turf to dirt and ran a career high 96 speed figure in allowance company.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This huge jump in competition seems to be too daunting a task for him.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

My take: \u00a0<\/SPAN>There are quite a few contenders in here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>My first thought would be that MAD DROPPER <\/B>has ran the fastest and loves to win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He also gets top jock C. Shoemaker along for the ride.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I do not want to take him because the odds are too low in this contentious race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>PERSIAN LYRIC <\/B>gives us solid 7\/1 odds and has run two back to back 100+ figures.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I will take him to snag his first Graded Stakes victory.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I do say, use this with caution.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is a very wide open field and I would not be surprised to see many of these in the winners circle.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
