The EWC residency has its annual EWC Showcase races running this weekend.\u00a0 There are two races scheduled, one on the dirt and the other on the turf.\u00a0 These races are for 2 year olds with restricted breeding, which is the driving force of these races.\u00a0 The EWC supports several race tracks within the game and the Showcase breeding requires that the sire used is from one of these tracks.\u00a0 Horses also are to be unraced and this is their debut race.\u00a0 This article focus is on the Dirt race which is at a distance of 5.5 furlongs.<\/p>\n

stake winners in the 2016 crop and a total of 62% have earned victories.\u00a0 \u00a0This Australian runner adds more power with Malibu Moon and Unbridled\u2019s Song at the tail end of the breeding line, both excellent dirt links.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8\/1<\/p>\n WAD OF KASH-A filly from Australia that will represent the Kashbarn stable comes from game mare Kash for the Lady, a two time winner in 17 races.\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019s bred three other horses with two winning at the allowance level.\u00a0\u00a0 Hussonet x Ghostzapper x Unbridled\u2019s Song complete the pedigree with Hussonet being a popular choice in 2016 and ranked 65th<\/sup> overall.\u00a0 With 45% winning children last year, three have become stake winners.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 7\/2<\/p>\n SINDIANA-Trainer Lordpye has used one of his game mares, the G3 winning Indy Connection, as the mother of this colt.\u00a0 She has bred successful children with 11 prior kids, all winning a minimum of an allowance race with two becoming stake winners and one a grade level winner.\u00a0\u00a0 Snitzel is the sire (ranked 40th<\/sup>) and saw 57% of his offspring win races last season which included a stake winner.\u00a0\u00a0 On the backside are strong dirt supporters of Forty Niner and Storm Cat.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 12\/1<\/p>\n HOF\u2019S FORSTY CHAMP-Laughing Champ\u2019s sixth borne comes out of a mare who earned one win in 20 tries.\u00a0 Two of her kids have won allowance races.\u00a0\u00a0 Bred in New York and this filly carries the bloodline of Frost Giant x Distorted Humor x Tale of the Cat.\u00a0\u00a0 Frost Giant was used 44 times as a sire during 2016, the lowest amount displayed over the past four years.\u00a0 However, 50% of the kids earned a win and there currently is one stake winner in the group may work well for trainer Hofman.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 24\/1<\/p>\n BROWN BEAU-Millerstables has entered this colt who floats in from Florida and is mothered by Brown Dagger Bed, a winner of 2 races and has four other children, three of which have won allowance races.\u00a0\u00a0 Beau Choix, a fourth year sire, is the father of this colt and 48% of the 2016 crop has claim to winning at least one race.\u00a0\u00a0 The sire is pretty much evenly mixed with grass and dirt winners but support for the soil comes from the back end of the mother has three previous children to her credit with one becoming an allowance winner.\u00a0\u00a0 She was hooked up with Friesan Fire (sire) who bred two stake winners last season and has a relatively low 28% of runners winning a race.\u00a0 Street Sense is the DS and Giant\u2019s Causeway as DDS add some flame for this Maryland bred lady.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 31\/1<\/p>\n SCOTIAN SUNNY-Game mare Ride Away, a winner of one race in ten starts, is the mother to this child who is the second born to this lady.\u00a0 Scotianstables hopes the Suns Out Guns Out x Tizway x Candy Ride is the right formula for this race.\u00a0\u00a0 Suns Out Guns Out is a first year sire with bloodline stretching out to Unbridled, Smart Strike with some Fappian and Mr Prospector sprinkled in.\u00a0 None of her children born this year have made a start but this Ohio bred colt could be the first to do so.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 8\u00a0\u00a0 17\/1<\/p>\n EAST OF SEATTLE-Trainer Denovo\u00a0 enters this two year old filly who comes out of game mare Seattle Cindy who won one race over eight starts.\u00a0 She has bred 10 previous horses with a grade winner and stake winner to her credit.\u00a0 E Dubai is the sire to this runner and despite having no stake winners in his 2016 two year old grouping, 50% of those bred did win a race.\u00a0\u00a0 The bloodline has solid support with Seattle Slew as the DS but Track Barron as DDS may not add too much of a spark for this LA bred gal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 9\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 146\/1<\/p>\n LARGE FIRE-A native New Yorker and a scratch bred for trainer 11Putts.\u00a0 DR Large, the sire, had an impressive 68% of his 2016 babies win races last season and includes a stake winner despite the lowest usage over the past four years for this sire.\u00a0 \u00a0Cat Dreams, the DS, brings in some Storm Cat heritage to the bloodline and DDS Behrens connects to the Pleasant Colony lineage.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 10\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 11\/1<\/p>\n OLD MILTON-A Canadian bred filly who claims Belle Couture as her mom.\u00a0\u00a0 She won one race in 8 starts but has a bit more success with her children as both of her kids prior to this one have earned allowance wins.\u00a0 Uncle Mo x Giant\u2019s Causeway x Smart Strike shows a favorable dirt breeding line for owner Atthewire.\u00a0 Sire Uncle Mo ranked 15th<\/sup> overall last season with a highly successful 67% of his children winning races, three have won stake races and includes a grade winner.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 11\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5\/1<\/p>\n EWC MILLER-It\u2019s Miller time!\u00a0 At least owner Cuetec is celebrating with this Japan borne colt who is mothered by 5 time winning Silverstein.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019s bred five previous children, all who have become allowance winners.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019ll Have Another is the sire, ranked 49th<\/sup> last year with nearly half his offspring picking up wins in the 2016 crop and includes a pair of stake winners.\u00a0\u00a0 The backside of the pedigree includes a mix of dirt and turf with Unbridled\u2019s Song and Dynaformer.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 12\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 22\/1<\/p>\n KOMATSU LIMITED HF-A colt that carries his mothers name, Komatsu won 21 of 46 races in her carry, a nice success story.\u00a0 She\u2019s bred five previous children, four have become allowance winners.\u00a0\u00a0 Trainer Hemafarms used Battle Plan, a Japan based sire, which hooked up with Corinthian (DS) and Awesome Again(DDS) on the backend of the breeding line.\u00a0\u00a0 Battle Plan was lightly used last season but 56% of the 16 bred won during the year.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 13\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9\/2<\/p>\n I\u2019LL HAVE IT AGAIN-Owner SJMeola cranks out this Japanese scratch bred with the dirt running lineage of I\u2019ll Have Another x Wild Again x Danzig.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 49th<\/sup> ranked sire I\u2019ll Have Another produced two stake winners in 2016 and 49% of the offspring have delivered wins in their races.\u00a0 Wild Again and Danzig on the backside add a bit of a boost to this colt.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sindiana gets top pick with solid mare who has produced a successful line of winning children.<\/p>\n Moscova Nights gets second selection and taking a shot with the bloodline featuring More Than Ready will connect with this first child to mare.<\/p>\n Old Milton comes out of Uncle Mo
