A field of 9 fillies will engage in battle in a 6.5 furlong allowance race in Vermont.\u00a0 This is for 2-year olds who are non-winners of two races in their lifetime.\u00a0\u00a0 Of the nine entered,\u00a0 three have won their last race and two of these that won did it in their debut.\u00a0 Lets see if any these can duplicate their effort and start a winning streak while they run on the grass.<\/p>\n
1\u00a0 K’s TOUGH ARGUMENT\u00a0 5\/1-Broke maiden first time out back in June and has followed up with a fourth and a third, all races on dirt.\u00a0 Ventures to the turf for first time and does have some grass ability in the bloodline.\u00a0 Could turn out to be one of those that can handle both surfaces.<\/p>\n
2\u00a0 OUNCES TO FREEDOM\u00a0 4\/1-Moved to turf after a pair of dirt outings and set the pace before being run down in stretch going a mile.\u00a0 81 speed was impressive and gives up a few furlongs for this outing.\u00a0 Offers some value.<\/p>\n
3\u00a0 CAPE SEPOY\u00a0 4\/1-Ran second first time out followed by breaking maiden.\u00a0 Last outing had awful results when going 8.5 furlongs.\u00a0 Back to sprint and hopes to improve.<\/p>\n
4\u00a0 MARK THE WEST\u00a0 12\/1-Has a 1-1-2 record in five starts and comes off a dismal outing in last where he went a mile and finished well back in the field.\u00a0 Moves back to sprint and has some late run ability and could make a last ditch effort to capture the leaders.<\/p>\n
5 LINE OF HALO\u00a0 20\/1-After an early season pair of dirt runs, this lady switched to turf in June and popped an 81 speed and upset the field at 16\/1.\u00a0 But two subsequent starts have yielded speeds in the 60-range and finishing in the back side of the field.\u00a0 Looks unlikely that things will change.<\/p>\n
6\u00a0 STREET EXCELS\u00a0 5\/2-Won as a first time starter in October with an 81 speed wiring the field.\u00a0\u00a0 Looks to repeat and has been well rested.\u00a0 Should be ready to go.<\/p>\n
7\u00a0 ROCKET RIVER\u00a0 7\/1-Finished fourth in debut in September than turned to turf in November which resulted in a wire job going a mile.\u00a0 Tries strategy again, this time scaling back to 6.5 furlongs.\u00a0\u00a0 I think it will be a bit harder this time as others will press the issue on the lead.<\/p>\n
8\u00a0 NOTINORDER D OR T\u00a0 23\/1-Has one start and that was a turf Hot race which he won.\u00a0\u00a0 Liked the front end and will probably make a bid for similar positioning.\u00a0 I am concerned that she raced just 10 days ago and its probably too early for this youngster to march back into another race.<\/p>\n
9\u00a0 DEEP COUNTERPART\u00a0 6\/1-Had a nice win in his June debut race which was followed by having a tough time in a mile event.\u00a0 Last start was in September where she finished a fair fourth going back to sprint.\u00a0 Tries sprint again and might get some minor purse money in this one.<\/p>\n

Street Excels won debut and I think she can repeat off that outing, gets my top pick.<\/p>\n
Ounces to Freedom is one to watch off last race, could take this.<\/p>\n
Cape Sepoy kicks back to sprint distance and should benefit nicely cutting back.<\/p>\n
